I have lived & traveled in a number of international cities & I thought both the shrimp in lobster sauce & BBQ ribs were superb--far, far better than average which truthfully I was not expecting from such a small place. We go there every time we visit Arlington. Their teriyaki chicken on a stick is outrageous. We buy 4/5 order each time we visit. Our grandkids and the whole family love them. Every meat dish we ordered was mediocre and every dish tasted vaguely the same. I don't understand how general tso's, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and sesame chicken could all taste almost identical (guessing all of the sauce comes from one base? Idk). Frozen Pagoda egg rolls are better than theirs. Dumplings were actually quite good. Lo mein and fried rice were fine. On the other hand they had the rather large order (feeding 10+ people) ready extremely fast and the staff was nice. Go to China spring instead. Yes it's further away but it is 1000x better than panda China. Panda China uses extremely low quality meats and frozen vegetables that end up soggy and gross. They are fast, the food will be done quick , but that's because it isn't cooked long enough. Sweet and sour chicken is never crispy. General tso chicken is just sesame chicken with chili oil there is no difference in the flavor. Go to China spring in Cordova instead. It's way better and uses fresh high quality ingredients. Yes it's more expensive but it tastes 1000x better. Do yourself a favor and don't eat here. That said if you have to pick between this and sen sushi , just go in Kroger and buy stuff to make it yourself. Waste of money eating here. Hey it's not the most authentic but it's always reliable and consistent. I always buy the chicken and broccoli and ask to make it black bean sauce! It's the only way I eat it there. We also love the chicken wings and always have to order two orders of the chicken wings--and add sweet sour to dip the chicken wings. Seriously yummy! read more

Panda China has essentially kept my family alive since July. We've been adjusting to not being able to run and get lunch as easily since we're working from home and not our usual places, and Panda is the go-to place for when we don't properly plan to have lunch prepared (which happens decently often). We're at the point where I wake up at 7am already knowing that I want the honey chicken lunch special and will just text the family that I'm gonna pick it up. Not to mention it certainly checks my usual boxes -- they're very filling and very well priced Would definitely recommend!! And make sure that you call ahead -- they have only a small lobby space not blocked off due to Covid, so if you don't call ahead you'll have to wait in the cold for your food (usually ~10-15 min) read more

If you ate here and gave this place a review greater than one star, you should get checked for COVID because you're unable to taste anything. I tried several dishes, most of the popular ones, and it blows my mind that this place could mess up fried rice. The chicken fried rice had no flavor.... none! Beef and broccoli was watery.... and also had no flavor. Beef steak and peppers was also watery with no flavor. Can't complain about the fortune cookies and pork egg rolls.... those were actually good (I wonder why ). If you are looking for "good" Chinese food, this is not the place! I'm a foodie and trust me when I tell you that you will be disappointed if you waste your hard earned money on crap food (expensive food). In summary.... don't do it!!! Also, the gooeyness is hard to avoid, as the sauce is a syrup based glaze. 2nd - Vegetables become soft and often "shriveled" when fried. I've eaten Sweet & Sour Chicken at 3 local Chinese restaurants and this place is absolutely the worse. Hard, tiny grease laden pieces of something they call chicken. The fried rice isn't much better, grease and hard rice. Eggrolls were slightly better but so full of Old grease favorite they weren't enjoyed. We still frequent this restaurant, so much, that when my wife starts calling in the order, the lady writing down the order says, this is for MS Paula? We drive past several other Chinese Restaurants to get our food here, and there is a good reason, the food is awesome. Everyone that we have sent here is hooked and will only go here for then on. Their house fried rice is the best, and all their other dishes are great too, but we love their rice. When we buy, we buy enough to last a couple of days, and it is as good the second and third time as it is the first. Ugh. We ordered Chicken Egg Foo Yung, Kung Pao Chicken and Moo Shu Pork. All were not good. At all. The Kung Pao Chicken had virtually no chicken and was basically spongey breading. Holy balls. Alright, so for those of you who are familiar with my reviews, this 5 star rating will probably come as a shock to you. For those of you who do not regularly read my incredible reviews, let this be known: 5 stars does NOT come easy for Chinese, Italian, or Pizza restaurants. I grew-up in NY, and Panda China Restaurant is one of the BEST Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at. I will start by reviewing the food, and then bashing the idiot who reviewed this restaurant two stars and complaining about the sesame chicken. Food: We ordered the same thing we always do: General Tso Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, and Boneless BBQ Ribs (a hidden treat for those of you who have never had them before). The General is tied for the best General I have ever eaten in my life (Great Wall in Cicero, NY). This is likewise for the Sesame, S&S, and the boneless ribs. The breading is crispy (not soggy) and flavorful (not bland). The chicken tastes fresh, and is butchered well. "Butchered well?" you may ask. I have had chicken elsewhere that had blood vessels, cartilage, bone chips, and gratuitous amounts of gristle. Each bite of this chicken was clean, flavorful, and moist. The pork fried rice is very good. Not too much onion, salted and seasoned well, with a fair amount of pork in it. The eggroll is also very good. Crispy and hot; but a little on the bland side. A very good egg roll was the worst part of our meal. Food: 6 / 5 (Impossible you say? Not for food this good) Service: The service was lacking, but they were very busy. The girl at the counter did not seem like she wanted to be there, but she was mildly pleasant. I would like a little warmer of a greeting, and a little friendlier service. Service: 3 / 5 Atmosphere: Very clean. I mean extremely clean. You can see right back into the kitchen, and as a restaurant manager myself, I know what to look for in a kitchen. Floors, walls, equipment, and utensils were all clean. Proper hand sanitation was being observed, proper food handling techniques were being observed (no cross contamination, etc.) I love seeing this, and for that, they get: Atmosphere: 5 / 5 (Plus, the restroom was clean too!) Price: Not much to say about the price. It is right in-line with other restaurants of the same cuisine elsewhere in the Memphis region, but the quality is infinitely better. For that: Price: 5 / 5 For the idiot who apparently has never had real Chinese food before: The breading was literally, the exact way Sesame, General, and other 'like' chicken dishes are supposed to be done. General and Sesame chicken are typically made with mostly dark meat. That is why they are so flavorful. Unless you eat at PF Chang's (which is like comparing apples and trains), you will not find these dishes made with breast meat! Here is the thing that really irks me about your review though, 'The sesame chicken is gooey'. That is EXACTLY how it is supposed be. The sauce is a syrup based sauce made with water, vinegar, sugar, and a slurry of water and (generally) cornstarch or potato starch flour. So either you are entirely confused about what sesame chicken and/or General Tso is supposed to be, or you have literally never had either of them before. And, if that is the case, go to any major city that has a large Asian restaurant presence (New York, Upstate NY, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc.) and you will find that this is the exact way to make these dishes. The highest rated, most incredible Chinese restaurants in America do their food the exact same way. Final Thoughts: I feel as if I could nearly 100% guarantee that you will not find a better Chinese restaurant in the State of Tennessee, let alone anywhere within a 300 mile radius of here. I have not eaten at a Chinese place this good since I lived in NY, and that was 5 years ago. For the price and the quality, you won't do better. If you are looking for some upscale Chinese food, that only uses breast meat, and is the product of over-Americanization, and doesn't even remotely resemble 'real' Chinese food then just eat at P.F. Changs or Pei Wei, and spare us your ridiculous reviews... read more
