    Crab Rangoon

Maybe I was there on a good day but this is the 4th local Chinese place I've tried in the Memphis area and this has been the best one so far. The general Tso's chicken was good the crab Rangoon was ok. But bang for you buck I will be going back to try something else next time I'm in Lake land

My husband and I decided to stop and get some Chinese food at a place we hadn't tried before. This restaurant is in a small strip mall next to a grocery store. We put in our order and they told us 20 minutes. So we went in the store looked around and came back. And they told us it was going to be a couple more minutes. 45 minutes later our food was finally ready. We drove home to eat if and discovered it had no flavor. I ordered lo mein and it honestly tasted like it had gotten dry so they dumped water in it. Not a good experience. Not sure why I'm even giving them 2 stars. First impressions matter. We won't be going back.

Obvious jokes aside, this place is just fine if you want to pick up some Chinese and are local to the 64/40 Junction. One thing I would suggest is that they have some different sauces for the meals. The vegetables stir fried into the different dishes are all in the same stock so if you get multiple dishes they can seem really similar (just with different meats) This can make the meals bland. For instance there was little difference between Cashew Shrimp and Chicken Lo Mein... apart from noodles and chicken in one and shrimps and cashews in another. No gastral distress either. 7/10. :)

Fried was was great but the Hot Sour Soup was to sweet for my taste but all in all not to bad.

    Pork fried rice!

This place is great! Their fried rice is the bomb! It's not expensive either! They're very nice to me when I go and pick up my food! Thanks guys!

Great Chinese food! You get a lot for your money. They have the best shrimp fried rice in the city!

Overpriced with low quality and small servings. Was better before the new owners took over.

Please don't change it or I will be very sad but will make the trek to Cordova for your tasty snacks. Since the pandemic began (yes it is still happening for all you non-believers), husband and I have ordered from every restaurant in our service area. A few weeks ago, China Spring popped up. We love Chinese food and supporting small local restaurants, so we ordered. Y'all... This is the best Chinese food I've ever had in Memphis. I've ordered and dined in at a lot of places, so I'm an expert in this, please trust me. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into their food. Every single bite is fresh and delicious. I don't normally like dumplings (my husband does), but China Spring dumplings are the best I've ever had. I liked them so much I'd probably order them myself instead of just trying my husband's order occasionally. Their General Tso's tastes like it were made by the General himself. I don't normally order seafood at restaurants unless they are, well, a good seafood restaurant, because I'm super picky. But my husband ordered the Dragon Phoenix, so I tried one of the shrimp. OMG YALL. These shrimp are the best - succulent if I say so myself. I don't know what kind of wizardry you guys are doing over there at China Spring, but how can a restaurant 30 MINUTES AWAY, still deliver HOT food?! Another thing about China Spring is its consistency. We've ordered twice so far and both times it was 5-star quality food! No hit and miss with this amazing place. I'm almost done, I promise. I have to highlight the amount of food they give you. The last time we ordered, it consisted of 3 combo platters, Wonton soup, and dumplings. This amount lasted us 8 MEALS. Yes, EIGHT. Quality and Quantity!! Now for China Springs highest compliment... My husband is a chronic complainer... He has only said amazing things about their food. I asked him to summarize his thoughts in 3 words, he said, "Amazing Chinese Food." Y'all.. He doesn't even think I'm that amazing and I'm his wife.

Well today I decided to give them a try again and while it wasn't bad is definitely wasn't great. My general tso chicken was reasonably tasty but the chicken was so tough and stringy I will be flossing chicken from between my teeth for hours. Not sure if was just way over cooked, freezer burned or both but either way it was not good. Definitely a take out place thought they do have a few tables in there. Summary: disappointed and won't be back anytime soon.

The restaurant is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a traditional Chinese touch that even changes with the seasons. The manager is incredibly nice! I had a large to-go order, and he had someone help carry everything out to my car! I really appreciate that level of service, it really stands out. Their dim sum is definitely the BEST in town. I highly recommend the siu mai and the dry beef rice noodle. The siu mai are huge and super juicy, and the beef rice noodle has that perfect smoky, charred aroma from high-heat stir-frying! The carts carrying small dishes of delicious tasting morsels, sort of a tapas experience with Chinese food rather than Spanish. The food is solid if not spectacular. The ambiance reminds me so much of my experiences in Hong Kong. Not to mention the good housekeeping seal of approval when you see how many Chinese and Asians are there dining! If the people who know what 'real Chinese cooking' is all about are eating there, you know you are getting as close to the real thing as possible. Friendly staff will help you on ordering if you ask, but as a rule they will assume you know what you want when you sit down. If you are unfamiliar just ask. I've never had any issues getting answers. So, if you are looking for 'real' Chinese food, served in a unique way, please check out Dim Sum King...but be careful. The plates are small and the food is delicious but don't get too carried away trying everything because it is surprisingly filling. Which is nice because you'll want to come back again.
