My husband and I decided to stop and get some Chinese food at a place we hadn't tried before. This restaurant is in a small strip mall next to a grocery store. We put in our order and they told us 20 minutes. So we went in the store looked around and came back. And they told us it was going to be a couple more minutes. 45 minutes later our food was finally ready. We drove home to eat if and discovered it had no flavor. I ordered lo mein and it honestly tasted like it had gotten dry so they dumped water in it. Not a good experience. Not sure why I'm even giving them 2 stars. First impressions matter. Wang Garden is a solid Chinese food take-out place. BEWARE, though! They are condiment Nazis!!!!! You only get 1 or 2 of each condiment per order. Each subsequent packet will cost you 50 cents. No problem for me, as I keep all this stuff in my refrigerator anyways, but it's the principle. Those packets come in super bulk and any other restaurant will throw a handful of them in your bag and not give a hoot. I see other patrons requesting extra packets and the owner gets all militant about charging extra. OWNERS, if you're reading this, you lose more with customers feeling negatively about you vs. the miniscule money you save by being stingy on the packets. Just my 2 cents....and I'll give that you for FREE. That being said, the online ordering they recently added is nice. I like online ordering because any special requests are right there in black and white - - nothing is lost in communication. Hubby always gets sweet and sour chicken. It always seems too greasy to me, but he orders it every time, so maybe he doesn't think it is. I mix my order up a bit...I like the black pepper chicken or steak, the Singapore mei fun, or the curry chicken. I'll go to my grave saying the curry chicken they make uses "S & B Golden Curry" paste and tastes just like what I make at home. (Not a criticism) Orders are always correct. Me and the wife order take out from this place. We were having dinner with friends so we got our own orders. The food was edible. There was this weird, sweet taste to all the food. Even the spicy food. We ate the food because we were hungry but we didn't finish it. My wife brought her leftovers home and doctored the meals. She made it taste better. Obvious jokes aside, this place is just fine if you want to pick up some Chinese and are local to the 64/40 Junction. One thing I would suggest is that they have some different sauces for the meals. The vegetables stir fried into the different dishes are all in the same stock so if you get multiple dishes they can seem really similar (just with different meats) This can make the meals bland. For instance there was little difference between Cashew Shrimp and Chicken Lo Mein... apart from noodles and chicken in one and shrimps and cashews in another. I've only tried this place once but really liked the hot pepper chicken; I prefer onions and bell peppers to celery and zucchini so it was perfect. My wife found the sesame chicken overly breaded but that is a common complaint with Chinese food. read more

I bought the normal Chinese dinner- Chicken Fried Rice, Singapore Noodles, General Tso's Chicken, Hot and Sour soup and Sweet and Sour Chicken. Nothing to out of the ordinary. Paid $60 dollars, which I did not think was overpriced. But the Hot and Sour Soup was sweet; whatever spice was used for Singapore Noodles was not curry, it had a bad smell and a worse taste, even the fried rice was awful. Nothing tasted good but the Sweet and Sour Chicken. I will never order food from this restaurant again. read more

I ordered the house special fried rice, house special noodles, Mongolian chicken, and Cajun pepper chicken. The rice and noodles were exceptionally good. The steak pieces were a tad bit too big for my liking but nonetheless, it was good. There wasn't very much chicken in the boxes of Mongolian and Cajun pepper but they too were good. No complaints other than the serving sizes. read more

Price was good, but the food was just ok. Ordered the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special which was probably 25% chicken, 75% vegetables. While they tasted ok, I like more chicken in my entrees and excluding soup for takeout seemed odd. If you arent going to offer it for takeout, dont offer it for eat in or remove it from the price. Also, General Tso's Chicken was not available as a lunch special which I found odd. As its one of my favorites, I will likely stick to other places that offer it. I ordered take out at lunch time on a Tuesday. I get the feeling that there are only 1 or 2 total people working there doing cooking, checkout, etc as it took around 20 minutes for a lunch special and I only saw one person the whole time there. read more

I love the owners and I love the food. So many regulars come here over and over. You hear the familar "same thing" as people walk through the door. They will accomodate you anyway possible with ingredients and spices. I order the shrimp fried rice with extra shrimp, extra spicy with lots of bean sprouts, cabbage, and yellow curry powder. I use to love this place! In 7/24/2017 I ordered shrimp egg foo young. The food gave me food poisoning. I had diarrhea and vomited all night. I called them to let them know that I was sick after eating their food and they were RUDE!! He unwillingly offered me my money back. I love that they give you so much food for a low cost! Their egg drop soup was a little disappointing, but their lo mein was delicious. The food is pretty good , my only complaint is the restaurant itself. The interior is in need of a major upgrade starting with that old carpet flooring and strange odor, which seems unsanitary in a restaurant setting. That alone makes wonder about what's going on in the back where the food is prepared. While the strip mall is currently updating its front fascia, I hope they take this time to do something to the inside as well. read more

Well just got my food from Wang Garden and the lady at the front has given me trouble before and did again today. I must first say that I have never written a bad yelp review until today. I am very laid back. I have been here about 6-7 times and the food is pretty good for the area. Every time I get my food to go and ask for soy, spicy mustard, or sweet sauce she tells me no. She says you don't need that. Well today should the same thing and tried to charge me a quarter for 3 packets of sauce. Ridiculous! She is always very rude. As well they have a lunch special that I ordered today it says that it comes with soup but only for dine in. I said that I would like the soup for dine in and I would take the rest to go she said no. End of story. You know I understand that people have bad days but at Wang Garden the lady ant the front has had the same bad customer service every time I go, that's not just a bad day. The food isn't half bad so I'd say try it as long as you don't want any sauce lol read more
