Wowzaaaa. I love sushi and this place makes it right ! I've been traveling and landing back in my home town for a moment. I decided to head here with my brother for late lunch early dinner. This is more of an order and sit down restaurant. With that being said, the service is perfect. The prices are extremely fair and quality is top notch. I actually came back within 2 days to chow down again. The Samurai roll is a MUST if you like tempura rolls. The salad was pretty good with the dressing not being too gingery which I enjoyed. This is my first time eating at Oec and let me tell you it will not be my last time. The customer service is friendly and very appreciative towards their customers. I ordered the shrimp , chicken , steak with fried rice . The food was served hot and seasoned to perfection. They also give you a large portion ( enough for 2 servings). I ordered to takeout; however while waiting I noticed they have a extremely nice eat in section which seemed comfortable and clean. I have nothing but nice things to say about this place! Inside of the restaurant was clean, ample seating, and the atmosphere was great. Staff members were quick, friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. Ordering was a breeze. We were a group of four and for our table we ordered about 6-7 sushi rolls as well as steak yakisoba and we all came out winners! I mean it. I tend to forget about OEC but I was glad I remembered and popped in before heading home. I ordered over the phone the hibachi noodles with shrimp and egg rolls. It only took 10 minutes and my order was ready. The staff is friendly and seem to know their regular customers, which is nice. It is a small cozy place so it is good for small crowds to eat and go. I enjoyed my meal. It was enough for two servings. It was light so I didn't feel stuffed or heavy afterwards. I need to add to my favorite food list. read more

First impression walking in was the place is decorated cute, clean, and cozy/quaint. I already love places that feel like a tiny hole in the wall and this place definitely is. The service is great, didn't take long to get our food and there were many people waiting. You can see the chef in the back cooking and frying fresh food. We ordered the Hawaii roll that had salmon and mango it was definitely 10/10. We also had a Philly roll but added jalepeno slices and spicy Mayo. We had a spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll. First visit and will return. It is located by the Kroger on Bartlett Blvd and Stage rd( Little Caesar's is right next door). I visited on a Wednesday around 645/7pm and it was a steady flow of customers; I sat in the parking lot for a few minutes until my order was ready and I do advise you to call it in. I called my order in and still had a bit of a wait. The place is very busy and I can see why. I don't know if they are open for dine in since everyone was getting take out, but I wouldn't want to dine in. The eating area is a bit small for my taste and right out in the open. I ordered the steak and chicken hibachi dinner, sunshine roll and hurricane roll. I enjoyed everything and in my opinion I had a lot of food, enough for lunch/dinner the next day. They ask if you want soy sauce and yum yum sauce, so no little packets of soy sauce. I received two yum yum sauces and to order extra I believe it is .50 per sauce. Aside from having to wait for my order, I still give 4stars because the food was good and hot, I was greeted when I entered, the lady taking my order was very pleasant and so was the guy that I paid with. read more

OEC is one of my favorite Japanese "fast food" spots. I wandered in a few years ago to see what they had and have been a loyal customer since. They are very close to me, so anytime that I'm craving my go-to dish of hibachi steak and white rice, I can call and it'll be ready by the time that I'm driving up. The staff is really nice. At one point, I was eating there so much that they knew my order when they saw my number My other favorite dish is the sweet potato rolls. It's actually enough to fill me up, so when I order that and the steak/rice, I have enough food for 2 days! The last time that I ordered, I decided to see if Orson would like all of his favorite foods in one dish. I fed him a sweet potato roll - which spare drawer straws as chopsticks, for the authentic dining experience. If you're in the Bartlett area, definitely give them a try! read more

Personally, I dont see what all the hype is about. It was my first time coming in after so much hype about it from various people. I even brought the in-laws to check it out. We were not impressed. Again, our first time and the first thing we do is sit down. The guy at the cashier didnt even acknowledge us to say we have to order at the register. We had to get up since no one came after a few minutes. We order and I get a sweet tea. No wonder people have diabetes, it was more sugar than tea. I ordered sushi and noodles, and everyone else got more sushi and fried rice. My sushi was pretty good but my in-laws sushi(hurricane) was so plain. Both my noodles and their fried rice was salty. Just didnt enjoy my experience there. OEC is a quick and well-prices Japanese spot! I had the chicken fried rice, and it was really good and pretty filling (I finished it almost immediately). My best friend lives near here, and it's the go-to place for him and is fam. It seems that the chicken fried rice is a staple crop for them at this point. COVID-19 Alert and warning!! We ordered from OEC for takeout during the first week of opening restaurants and stores in Shelby County. On arriving, OEC was packed with people waiting INSIDE the restaurant for their orders. Ninety percent of the people were NOT wearing face masks. The staff was NOT wearing face masks. Some customers came into OEC to order and just sat down in the restaurant to wait. There was no practicing social distancing! There were more than 20 people in this tiny place, all within inches of each other and most not masked. This is neglect on the owners of this restaurant. Obviously, they have no regard for public health or the public health policy stated by the Shelby County Heath Department. I will be reporting them for violating the Covid-19 codes. read more

We just purchased 2 meals for $50 and when ordering said specifically......zucchini.... Checked the order, in the restaurant prior to leaving.... Advised the young lady, who took the order, that there was NO ZUCCHINI in either meal. She basically said that zucchini does not come with the order.... ⁉ Although on the lit sign above the counter it states ALL HIBACHI MEALS ARE MADE WITH VEGETABLES (BROCCOLI, SQUASH, & MUSHROOMS). She states that the noodles don't come with zucchini, only the rice!!!!! Annnnnnd that it would be AN EXTRA CHARGE for Zucchini‼ 1- I'VE NEVER ORDERED THE RICE and have zucchini in my noodles order. 2- If this was extra, why didn't you charge for the zucchini when the order was placed⁉. Fast Food Japanese Hibachi Lunch provides a hardy & delicious alternative to typical American fast food. Here I can quickly get a hibachi meal to go without the Volcano ... Choo-Choo ... Heartbeat ... Flying Egg... etc. Not having to sit next between Mr Sneezy or the family after the soccer game! Not having to use my Titanium Diners Club Charge Card ... PRICELESS! I wish their food had more flavor, but that's what the sauces are for. Veggies are crisp & delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the convenience of this establishment and will definitely be ordering from here more often if I need to get a quick to go meal. FOOD: for Memphis, I think the sushi is pretty decent for the price. I would much rather order 2 rolls here for the price of 1 roll from a grocery store. The hibachi lunch entree is HUGE for a pretty good deal too! I had enough leftovers for a 2nd meal. SERVICE: quick service, easy take-out process, and friendly staff.
