We had a wonderful chef at our hibachi grill who was fun and kind and an excellent cook. Our service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and funny and was always there if we needed something. Was quick with refills before we even asked! I had steak and my husband had salmon and they were both exactly how we wanted it. It's the little things for me, too, that make a big difference. The soup and salad are EXCELLENT. We also had some sushi and it was so fresh and delicious. This was our second visit here and I'm a big, big fan. Can't wait to come back again! Selected this location for a work lunch. Depending on how you enter the location in the GPS, it can take you to the other side of the shopping center. It was fairly empty when we arrived so we were able to choose a table we liked. Let me just say that the playlist is amazing!! Our server was very attentive. The menu is pretty straightforward. For appetizers, we had spring rolls and wontons. Both were pretty good. There is a variety of lunch special options. I chose a shrimp and steak fried rice combination with soup and salad. My saito punch was very delicious. We continued to chill and enjoy the playlist while discussing work. The food and drinks are good and the prices are really reasonable. This use to be the best Japanese food in Bartlett. Now, not so much. Last few years Ive went here food is cold and taste left over. Today I paid $90 for lunch for 3 people and got cold food while fighting gnats the entire time I was eating. Food was good, sushi was fresh, really went in for the lunch special pick 2 and wanted scallops and filet but was told they took the scallops off the lunch menu, but the printed menu hadn't been updated yet so got the shrimp which was good a replacement, some of the onions the outer layer could have been left off the plate and the zucchini could be sliced a bit more uniformly and cooked a bit longer. Service was quick & fast waitress was attentive. We have been eating at Saito for decades and have some wonderful meals and celebrations there. The current owners do not provide the same quality of food that we could previously enjoy at Saito. Yesterday my to go order was 30% higher than the menu price listed on their website and the food was hard, dry, and cold. I called to speak to the manager and he smirked and said, "We haven't updated that website in like a year or more". I told him I wasn't requesting anything, I just wanted him to know the experience I had there yesterday and his response was, "I dunno what you want me to do." Goodbye, Saito. We went here for Father's Day 2024 with a family of seven. It was of course really hot outside, but it didn't feel like the air conditioning was working in the restaurant so that makes dinner hard to enjoy. We sat at the hibachi table and the food was great, but there was no real hibachi cooking experience. Our cook was nice, but didn't seem to speak English at all and certainly didn't do anything special as the chef. The experience is a big part of hibachi I think, but not here. My biggest complaint is that we spent almost $200, tip included in the bill, no alcohol. read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. The food at this restaurant was a perfect 10. Everything was so flavorful. All the ingredients were fresh, and expertly seasoned. I ordered the shrimp fried rice (on the suggestion of another patron who said it was delicious) and she was certainly right. The shrimp fried rice was the best I've ever had, in any city, and I've eaten shrimp fried rice throughout my travels all over the U.S. and this was hands down the very best. I also ordered the Yakisoba Steak Plate and the steak was so tender. It appeared to be from an extremely high quality, premium cut of meat. The noodles were also delicious. The vegetables tender and flavorful. Last, I ordered the Vegetable Tempura. The portions were very generous and everything was prepared fresh, it was crisp, and bursting with flavor. We wanted a hibachi spot off the beaten path. Our son and several friends had hibachi. My husband and I sat in the traditional dining space. Our waitress Kylie was awesome. She was attentive and thoughtful about everything. She partnered with Sarah, who was equally as great, to ensure we could capture the birthday pics/moments for our son. I researched the hours to make sure we had enough time to eat. We arrived at 8:57pm with an hour to eat. When we got there we were told that they were closing at 9:30 but we could place a to go order. I was very irritated by the early closure but I was very understanding. My family has been going to Saito since they opened over twenty years ago; when they were the only sushi restaurant close to Bartlett. The quality of food and the quality of the service have sadly taken a steep dive over the past five years or so (which may correlate directly with a change in ownership.) The sushi rolls now are sloppily prepared, the ingredients don't have the same (honestly great) flavors they once did, and anything taken to go is dry and a mess. We have frequently been given our orders missing items, and tonight, our salad was missing. It's $3.75 for a very small container of iceberg lettuce and some shredded carrots, so it takes a special level of consideration just to order it. It comes with a ginger dressing that is honestly one of the only consistent and good things over the years. Well, we called, and were given a light apology. I drove back to the restaurant. The cashier went to retrieve the salad, and when I asked for the accompanying dressing, she said that she already put it in the bag earlier. Full disclosure, they had given us a dressing. A very small cup that was half-full. When I asked for another, she said that it would be a dollar. Genuinely shocked, I asked if she was serious, and she rudely said yes and then muttered something about 72 cents. This is not a salad that comes with dressing on it; the dressing is the one and only reason to order it, and we were given very little to begin with. This treatment of a customer who had to drive back to your restaurant to retrieve their four dollar salad, insisting that they could not get a free dressing, as you had *certainly* not forgotten to give them that (despite completely forgetting the whole salad,) then making them pay if they want a little more dressing is unbelievable. Memphis customer service is worse every year, and Saito has sadly cut enough corners to be in this position as well. To the employee if you read this: Swallow your pride when you make a mistake, and think of yourself as an employee who represents your place of business. To management: train your employees to handle customers respectfully and to take a miniscule loss without putting up a fight that's going to put a customer off forever. Also, consider revisiting your ingredients and food prep methods (especially with your sushi.) Sad to say, but I don't think I'm going back to Saito. read more

The song local sushi/haggi site with multiple locations across town. We have eaten at the original in Bartlett and also the one on Highway 64 say no to both of them have changed from original fried rice recipe compared to the original Saito. Also the ginger dressing is not the same as the original Saito. We prefer the original fried rice before it changed and also the ginger dressing before it changed. Portion sizes for the hibachi bar irregular, meeting one time at one size the next small or large portion can be frustrating on to go orders. The spicy crunchy roll used to be your favorite in town now is lackluster again not sure what is changed in the fried rice in the sushi rice preparation. read more

Not the freshest ingredients sushi wise, especially for the prices. The servers where not that attentive and mixed up the orders. With more then one table. They where friendly enough but for the equality of the food not being that great I don't think I'll bother going back. Didn't try the hibachi though, maybe that is better. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Saito 2 on hwy 64 because he remembered enjoying the original location years prior (Looks like Yelp hasn't added their account for the new location yet). Let me start with the aesthetic appeal of the restaurant, the lighting is very unique while not being too bright or too dark. The booths are very spacious and comfortable. The TVs were placed perfectly around the restaurant to where the only seat in the house that can't see one of the four TVs is if you're sitting at the bar that looks into the open kitchen (which if you're like me it's like watching a cooking show live). Moving on to the service, it was OUTSTANDING! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Even if the server wasn't your server and he/she saw your drink was starting to get low they would ask if you wanted a refill (which is major brownie points). The manager even came to the table and asked how we were. There were many other tables there, yet they made us feel very important and appreciated. Our servers name was Arma and he was just delightful - highly suggest asking for him. Now on to the most important part THE FOOD. The clear soup was unique, tasty, and hearty while having extremely fresh ingredients. The salad was the perfect serving size with yummy dressing and fresh veggies. The appetizer we chose was the fried wonton squares and they were delicious and definitely home-rolled/fried. The two rolls we choose were the Bills roll and the Crazy roll. They were to die for, enough said. The hibachi chicken came with the salad, soup, veggies, and a shrimp appetizer. Let me just say the shrimp was a game changer. Probably some of the freshest shrimp I have ever had in memphis. The chicken was light and yummy. All of that being said we will for sure be regulars. read more
