I love Asian food and my husband loves Mexican food, so this is the perfect spot for date nights! And double dates! And all the time. I really love that I can get sushi and my husband can get a burrito because often when I pickup food I will go to two places to grab food so we can both get whatever we are craving. I always seem to be craving Asian food and hubby just doesn't vibe with any Asian food but loves Mexican food so I am so excited this place exists. I didn't necessarily see many fusion options here but I will have to look again next time. I really liked the sushi things I got here. I totally forgot to try my husband's food. I think he wasn't a fan of it so hopefully he remembers what it was so he can try something different next time! It was ok. My wife really likes Asian food and I prefer Mexican food. But what I got tasted just ok. It was fine. I am willing to come back. She can get her sushi and I can get tacos. I get the idea. I truly enjoyed my time here. I love the concept. I got hibachi and got to eat my chips and salsa and have a pitcher of margs with my friends. It was a great time. Service was good. My sister and I had lunch. We were put in the back near the kitchen doors. There was only one couple in the restaurant besides us. We asked the waitress why were we put in the back. She didn't understand us. We asked what type of margaritas did they have and was there specials since it was lunch time. She said yes 1.50. She had a difficult time explaining whether they were frozen or not and if they had different flavors. We finally got her to bring us two frozen ones. Our receipt showed 8.00 for two. I ordered a Mango and my sister ordered a blue one. Her's had a " bug spray" taste. I ordered the shrimp hibachi entree with a salad. The salad was a lettuce mix that you would buy at a grocery store, drenched in dressing. It the entree was cold but I enjoyed the shrimps. My sister ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and salad. It was cold. The tortillas and chicken ( over cooked) were dry wrapped up with a small amount little cheese and sauce. We told the waitress about quality of the entrees and she just walked away. My daughter wanted to give this place a try as it has both of her favorites...Mexican and Japanese. While the restaurant serves both fares, the interior looks like your typical Mexican restaurant. The food was good and the quantities were large, but you do pay a higher price than a typical Mexican restaurant. We eat Mexican once or twice a week because we love it and it is cheap. This place is definitely not cheap. Our check was around $90 for four of us with no alcohol. With that being said, we did have leftovers due to the large portion size. I personally would rather pay less for a normal sized dish. Both the Mexican and the gala was were good. My daughter's sushi roll was so fat that she had a hard time getting it in her mouth. I absolutely love this place! My husband and I come once, maybe twice, a week for their 2x1 hibachi sushi on tuesdays! The food is great! I love that I get chips and salsa and a 2x1 margarita and a 2x1 hibachi plate for a really decent price! The servers are always so nice and quick. Their service is great! 10/10 would recommend. Tuesday lunch plans were at Sake vs Tekila at the Cordova location. It was fun meeting up with one of my lunch crews. I had the combo 1 Maki sushi roll and two chicken tacos with corn tortillas. The sushi roll I ordered was tempura shrimp. Friends at the table ordered queso dip and guacamole dip. Both dips were fantastic. I would order those again. My tacos were seasoned well and were good with the hot sauce. My sushi was meh but okay. My friends had the two for one hibachi steak combo and mentioned it was quite good. Service was good. Our server was nice and tried hard to speak in English. The restaurant is decorated with Japanese and Mexican murals which is different. It also has colorful flags hanging across the main part of the dining area. It was fun. If I return, I will stick to the Mexican food. Was with a larger party so service was a little slow but that's not uncommon if you have a larger party. Sake VS Tekila on a Saturday night was a good experience. At first I was perplexed by the concept, but it seems to actually work well! Last night they had a saxophone player who played popular songs of all genres, very talented and added to the experience. The drinks are good! A little on the strong side. The food is pretty good. Ordering is a pain in the butt. Our waitress didn't understand half of what we ordered. She didn't seem to understand English or Spanish. This is really a great spot. My husband and I have been multiple times since it opened about a month ago. Each time we are greeted with friendly service and great food. This was our first visit at any Sake vs Tequila. The salsa is some of the best I've had at any Mexican restaurant. We did stick with just sushi this visit and there will definitely be back. I had the Jaguar roll which was absolutely delicious, the seared white tuna had a perfect smoky taste and I had the Cajun tuna nigiri which was some of the most buttery soft tuna I've had anywhere. My friend had the Spider-Man Roll which I normally don't care Spider Rolls but this one was delicious too and she had the salmon nigiri. Both rolls and the nigiri were extremely fresh and large rolls and large pieces of nigiri. The only complaint is the menu didn't indicate how both rolls were spicy which was fine for me but burned my friend up lol. If you get a server name Michelle short long hair normal ponytail asks for another server. She doesn't come to check on you. I had to asks for napkins, I never got the refill I asked for. She was too busy behind the bar talking and laughing. I finally got the refill in a carry out once I got ready for the check. Check comes a 15% gratuity which was $13.63 which I felt she didn't deserve. Asked for a manager and all he could tell me was they put the gratuity on everyone's ticket which would have been fine if the server would have done something for it. It was surprisingly good. I always get yellowtail when I eat sushi and I know when places try to switch it with some other fish. This was not the case. It was very fresh and delicious. I started to notice that it didn't taste like patron and my friend started to feel sick and this wasn't normal at all so I decided to ask the waitress was the drinks we had really patron she laugh and said no we like this is false advertising and she said we just put it in a patron bottle skip to today I hadn't been back since that day and decided to go just for food not drinks I always get the same thing on Tuesday because they have the 2 for 1 hibachi so I ordered and proceeded to say I want the special which you buy 1 hibachi get 1 free the waiter said the special is for a soft drink buy 1 get 1 free even wrote it on his notepad like I couldn't hear first off I don't drink soda and if I did why would I want a buy 1 get one free on a soda if I buy a drink the refills are normally free if you just getting a regular drink so I asked to speak to a manger and went on to say I get the same thing every Tuesday I come he was like the special is for a soft drink I say since when he said a month ago which is fine but this place e has gotten to be so misleading and still have the original signs up about the specials but says nothing about soft drinks anyway becareful if you decide to go here definitely will not be returning I had to give one star to post they don't deserve it read more
