The noodles were cooked great - bouncy but easy to chew, unlike some other ramen places where they tend to be a bit too hard. I ordered the Shio Ramen, and the soup was full with umami flavor. The pork pieces were also pretty good; they were mostly lean, which I personally prefer. The Chicken Karaage was decent, the size was quite generous. The service was pleasant, adding to the overall positive experience. The restaurant has plenty of seating space. Overall, it's a good spot for a satisfying ramen fix. black garlic tonkatsu ramen

4.5/5 I have wanted to try Kamen for a really long time and yesterday evening I was able to try their black garlic tonkatsu ramen - level 2 spicy. When it first came out, I was confused why it wasn't spicy... at all! (not trying to flex my spice tolerance). I asked the waiter if there was any spiciness added and she asked if I wanted it spicy, and brought over some chillies. I was a bit confused because she confirmed our level of spiciness and the receipt also reflected level 2 spicy for both our bowls yet they were untouched by any spice. Anyhow, I think the ramen went from 8/10 to 10/10 with the added spice - the broth was so flavourful and tasty. There was 3 pieces of meat with quite a bit of fat but still fever tender and good. I love the black fungus and bok choy they added to the dish. The noodles were so tasty and of great quality and had a nice bounce to it. We also tried their deep fried chicken onigiri and salmon onigiri which were quite disappointing. The rice was quite hot but it was just a-ok, nothing special. The deep fried onigiri was an interesting idea but taste-wise, it just felt quite hard to eat. I will definitely return to try their spicier options such as their volcano ramen!

Pretty good. Stopped by for some ramen after shopping at Vaughan Mills. Ordered the Shoyu Ramen (13.95). They have a good amount of ramen options including some dons and katsus. I thought the broth was actually quite nice. It's a soy sauce broth which was clean and not too oily. Came with a good amount of pork and fish cake as well. I typically like cha shu which has been grilled a bit and while this isn't that, it was still pretty good. Noodles were a nice thin, style, cooked well. Decent place with lots of options, good seating, located in a large plaza with tons of parking.

Didn't try the ramen so can't speak to that, but the onigiri were delicious!! I got one tuna and one salmon and both of them were great. Ordered them to go so didn't have much server interaction, but the workers who took the order were very friendly.

The fact that Kamen's Google review average is 4.7 stars yet their Yelp review average is only 3.9 stars peaked my interest, though I did note that there are many times more reviews on Google. Upon arrival, my curiosity was solved as there was a little posting stating you can get free ice cream for leaving a 5 star Google review. As tempting as this was for me, I always keep my reviews honest, so I plan to do just that. Our table of four came around 7 pm and was seated immediately. The place was about 70% full at the time, with a constant trickle of people coming and going. We sat for a few minutes before being offered menus and water. Another server then came later to take our order after flagging them down with minimal effort. I was impressed that the waiter memorized our orders (i.e. didn't have to write anything down) which is not common practice nowadays. This allowed for a more personable and attentive experience. Not to mention, we ordered four meals with some options (e.g. chicken or pork and spice level, two drinks, alongside one special request (i.e. no bamboo shoots), and accuracy was spot on. Again, for my customization I asked for no bamboo shoots and though an error was ALMOST made (i.e. they brought my ramen to the table but caught the mistake just prior to setting it in front of me, and corrected it immediately), they still rectified the situation before it was even realized by the consumer. I personally ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu which I found to be lighter than the other ramen orders at my table. Despite this, it was still very flavorful while not being overly salty. I can also say now a couple hours later that I was never thirsty after the fact. There were about three pieces of roast pork which is pretty standard alongside the portions of the other toppings, such as half a ramen egg. I tried the Black Garlic Tonkotsu soup which is one of their popular/recommended items and that was really rich. The Tan Tan Men is also amazing for those who love spice! It was spicy (we got regular), rich, and creamy with a fragrant nutty profile. One of the members at our table ordered their Gyudon, which came with a side salad and miso soup. The sides were good. The Gyudon was flavorful but frankly, too salty. I also found the meat to be "rougher" compared to other places. A bonus I appreciate though was that they ask you if you want your egg raw or cooked - again, making this a very personalized experience. As for the matcha smoothie we ordered, this was the most disappointing of the bunch. The matcha flavor was evident and overall, the drink was not too sweet. However, they should really rename it to be "slushy" as that is what it was. This meant the bottom of the drink got quite icy at the end and lacked flavor. I was hoping for a creamier and smoother beverage. I must applaud the team for their service. It wasn't even a particular employee that wowed me but rather, they were collectively really great. Everyone was friendly and took the time to check up on us regularly. The waiter who took our order was also great about making recommendations such as asking if we wanted an appetizer for the table and later on during the meal, pointed out that they have delicious macaron desserts. Unfortunately we were too full to order them. The restaurant is quite casual and had a good vibe with loud music. This often made it hard to converse but gave a good atmosphere. To glance, the place also looked quite clean. There are little hints and nods to Japanese culture with their decor but this is by no means a very traditional-looking spot. Being located in a large plaza, there are ample free parking spots.

Roasted garlic spicy miso ramen ($15.95)

I came here for dinner yesterday, a Saturday night, and was fairly quickly seated bar-side. The first thing I noticed was that their menu was a lot bigger than your typical ramen joint. I especially liked that for their spicy options, you can choose your level of spice. This was key for me, as I do enjoy spicy flavours, but most of the time have to avoid it because my tolerance isn't high enough. I ended up getting the roasted garlic spicy miso with mild (0.5 spice level). I really enjoyed the flavour of the broth, which was tasty and just what I was hoping for with a garlicky broth. The noodles and toppings were also yummy and a good amount. The one major thing I wasn't a huge fan of is the protein portion. My bowl only contained 2 thin slices of pork, which even for me, wasn't enough. After finishing my bowl I wasn't completely full, though I was satisfied. Ramen places need to up their game from the 2 slice standard.. it isn't enough! Overall, solid ramen place with a good selection, fair pricing (based on competition) and attentive service. If I lived closer, I would definitely add it as a top place when I'm in the mood for ramen.

I tried that restaurant two times with my auntie duo, my grandpa, my brother and my father. It's one of the best ramen restaurants ever to be golded!

All my Kinton Ramen visits never consisted of a BOGO deal, so I was happy to change things up. I didn't realize that Vaughan had a Kinton Ramen. I know that one has recently opened at CF Markville Mall. However, I was running errands west of Markham and this location was on my way to them. I ordered the following items: - Golden duo with thick noodles - Yuzu cheesecake Both were BOGO deals. I got an estimated time as I was leaving Richmond Hill. I would get to this eatery a few minutes after the specified ready time. I had no problem finding a parking spot. A vehicle had pulled out of a spot steps away from the entrance. I backed into it. It was a good day. I walked in. There was a customer ahead of me who seemed nervous and fidgety. I stood in line behind him. It was trying to figure out why he was reacting that way that interested me. There were two staffers. The male one was nice and came over to me. I said that I had an Uber Eats order. I showed it on my phone. He nodded and headed to work with the male chef behind the counter and his female colleague next to him. The female colleague needed help putting together an order. The male one helped her sort things out. She had put the wrong noodles and broth in a paper bag with handles. She had to take the lids off the ramen bowls to figure out the contents inside. She had to bag two broths in containers. I have always been an observer. I'm also patient -- perhaps too patient for my own good. The man in front of me had every right to be nervous. She was packing up his takeout order and had messed up, which likely caused him to get all nervous and looked at me three times during this ordeal. I never made eye contact with him, as I didn't need his nervous energy extended to me. I did the fourth time when I watched her get his order right. Our eyes met and I smiled that he got his order right. He smiled back. It's always about context. It's the only reason why I'd give this experience 4.5 stars. The confused female staffer didn't exude confidence to two customers watching her pack up an order. There were two pairs of diners while I was here. It felt like a relaxed setting slurping ramen and conversing in this eatery. I should dine here next time. It felt comfortable. The male staffer, on the other hand, was competent. I saw him pack two ramen bowls, two broth containers, and two boxes containing cheesecake into my paper bag. He then carefully sealed everything with stickers and handed the bag with handles over to me. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He reciprocated, almost with a sigh of relief. I headed to my car and drove off. My next couple of errands were by my workplace. I decided to have lunch there. I had half my food for lunch. I had the rest at home today. The golden duo consisted of your choice of noodles (thin or thick) in a pork broth that had white sesame paste. The protein was seasoned ground pork. It had a marinated egg, bean sprouts, scallions, bamboo shoot, wood ear mushroom, chili oil, shredded chili pepper, white pepper, and a few crispy fried onions on top. I went with thick noodles. You can't customize any items in the ramen bowls on Uber Eats. I am frankly not a fan of bamboo shoot. Luckily, there were four strips that I easily removed from my bowl of ramen. The broth was still pipping hot. I placed everything in an insulated bag. Both broth containers were placed in a plastic bag. I appreciated that packing detail. I poured one of the broth containers into my ramen. I then loosened up my thick ramen noodles and chowed down. The golden duo was yummy. The broth was rich and creamy. The thick noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked. I loved the flavours in my ramen. The seasoned ground pork was perfect with the bean sprouts, scallions, and marinated egg. This bowl of ramen did have a spicy kick. My bowl at the office wasn't terribly spicy. The one that I had at home had a stronger level of spiciness. Both were great. I normally don't get utensils. Since I was eating at the office and didn't have the proper utensils, I said yes. The spoon from Kinton Ramen was gorgeous and deep, which allowed me to enjoy every spoonful of broth and more. I actually washed it out and stored in my locker at work... haha! The golden duo was equally as yummy a day later. I'm not sure if the spiciness elevated overnight, but it was nice. The cheesecake at Kinton Ramen tends to be on the smaller side, which I appreciate. I've had the matcha and loved it. I went with yuzu and it was awesome. I loved the citrusy brightness that the yuzu brought to the cheesecake. It was the perfect richness to end my meal. I look forward to getting more ramen from this eatery. There's a veggie immune booster ramen bowl that I wouldn't mind trying. It's currently a part of the BOGO deal. (105)

The karaage came with 5 pieces and was very juicy and tasty, though slightly pricey for the portion at regular cost. The ramen was good. I liked that you can add unlimited deep fried garlic and chili powder to customize your bowl. You are also ablee to change the broth but it costs an extra $2.50 (so I did not). The dried garlic was especially delicious and added a lot of flavor. The egg was good as well, although it was only half an egg. Overall, I enjoyed it, especially for the discounted price.
