Came here on recommendations from a friend, a small spot in a shopping strip mall. Cool spot with simple and relaxed Asian theme. We started with a simple California roll, which came with eight pieces of sushi. It was fresh, well assembled, and tasty. She ordered the hicken hibachi and I ordered Katsu Chicken Ramen...everything we delicious. Fresh ingredients, seasoned just right, good sized portions. One of the better Asian food experiences in the area.

Interesting place. Food was tasty but a little pricey. Place offers Korean, Japanese, ramen, curry and sushi. Ginger tea was good but had a lot of sugar. They use a lot of sugar in some of the dishes. Place was very hard to find but it is popular with the locals. While i would eat here again, I'd rather go to more authentic Korean or Japanese places.

Green dragon roll, shrimp killer, and several others! Delicious!

The sushi here never fails to be delicious! The prices are decent and so are the portions. The environment is cute and cozy and the staff are nice. Only complaint I have is the billing. It seems they charged tax after a tip was included instead of simply on the food .

Hot and spicy ramen

Kaisen is our favorite sushi spot even though we live in Chicopee! I ordered some take out yesterday for Mother's Day and they were so busy they had multiple orders coming out of the kitchen for to go and dine in. Due to the wait time they even tossed in an extra California roll for us which was such a nice gesture although I never would have expected that because it was busy, a special day and people have to wait, that's the industry! The service was awesome- I don't remember the woman behind the counters name for sure but I think it might have been Kelly? I heard someone say it was her first day and good for her for taking on Mother's Day and executing it with grace, since we all know how some people can be - rude and entitled. She did a fantastic job. And of course, the sushi was fresh and delicious as always. I even tossed in a hot and spicy ramen for my order which I won't be placing another order without it. THE BEST!!!

Delicious sushi! I had Japanese food a few times on my trip and enjoyed every meal. We came here on a Monday night and it was steady. Our server was friendly and welcoming. I was torn between ramen and sushi but to my pleasant surprise, the menu offered a ramen and sushi roll combo. Hooray! I chose the veggie ramen and the Philly roll, and it also came with miso soup which I'm always down for. We got a veggie gyoza appetizer and it was so good! Perfect size and the crunch was satisfying. The ramen was plentiful, I added some hot sauce and soy sauce which added some nice depth to it. The Philly roll was delicious as usual, and I tried a piece of salmon sashimi and enjoyed that as well. This is a great spot!

Chicken Katsu Ramen (added mushrooms)

Great lunch - we got two different ramens, a salmon stone pot (kind of like a bibimbap), tofu crisp sushi (yum) and bulgogi tacos (super yum). The tacos were a shared app but one of our party declared she is getting her own tacos as an entree next time to avoid sharing! Update 2 Oct 2022: Another awesome lunch - tofu crunch roll again, this time with coconut curry and sushi combo. Server was very friendly and helpful.

Spicy pork with sauce

The place is in downtown Feeding Hills & pretty close to MA Highway 57/147 & you can get to this place from Agawam, Westfield, Southwick or Springfield vicinity & for what I experienced overall (yes it's BYOB) very good, priced & way different than most places of this type of cuisine you'll get. I began with water & also Japanese Citrus Tea and my entree was spicy pork with rice & note they got many options whether you want sushi, su shame or hot dishes & this place will not disappoint & a extra note I wound up hearing on the music system modern pop/rap & overall a nicely unexpected surprise (then again deeming an appointment with H&R Block nearby few of them recommended this) and well done & worth it plus prices definitely a extra shout out.

Beef gyoza

We've been recommended this place from a few people, so it was a nice, cold Saturday night... what better time to try a hot bowl of Ramen? We started with the beef gyoza while we perused the extensive menu. The gyoza were excellent and nicely plated. We then decided to try the ramen-- shoyu for me, chicken katsu for hubs. We are, by no means, Ramen experts.... but we felt like their Ramen was basic. I had an inkling just looking at the menu (the ingredients listed for each Ramen choice were essentially the same, just a broth and protein change). Other places I've reviewed have had much different choices, varied ingredients and broth with much more depth of flavor. If we had stopped there, we would have been disappointed-- but our server saved the day, encouraging the sushi, telling us how excellent it was. When I asked for her favorite, she went with the lion king roll. This was amazing and saved our meal!! I am torn about this place. I really wanted to LOVE it, based on things I've heard from others. It has potential and we plan to give it another go, but just apps and sushi next time.

amazing sushi roll

Kaisen was just ok for me. To start with deposits, the sushi that we had was super fresh and had great flavor however the spicy pork which I have gotten at many places in the past was just absolutely awful very small amount of pork. There was more vegetables than there was pork, and everything was super drenched in the spicy sauce just left me very very disappointed.

I was skeptical of this place, even more so when I walked in, but fish is pretty fresh and the prices aren't bad either. Food came out pretty quick and the service was good. I'd come back if I had a sushi craving.

Do Lunch! Recently renovated, Kaisen is now my favorite lunch place. YES, sushi for lunch, especially with the options available, is the way lunch should be. I believe I had yellow fin sashimi, and a spicy tuna roll, with added crunch. LOVE it. I went with two men who looked more the " burger n fries" types, but who were also sold on the sushi for lunch specials. The bar areas is open where they make the rolls, so don't be shy- ask about what you like so that you can get something nummy without the guess work. This is also ideal for the lone luncher. There were several people eating alone here, and it was a very nice space to sit an do some work or read a book while you took a break. Final note: This is perfect for people who want to use forks instead of chopsticks unless your coworkers give you the mockery of shame.

Hawaiian poke bowl (no seaweed salad)

Yum! Ordered some takeout for the first time. Tried the Hawaiian poke bowl with the seaweed salad replaced with mango. So flavorful! Hostess was super friendly and helpful! Note to restaurant, please update your toast tab page to have better descriptions of what was in each dish.

Miso soup

Miso soup is alright. Green tea was a little disappointing to get a mug with a tea bag. I was sad to not get the teapot this time around. My wife loved the sweet potato roll but I thought the rice on it was too tough? Coconut shrimp was fantastic! The sweet chili sauce was perfect balance of sweet and spicy with the crunchy coconut shrimp. Service: Upon arrival, we were told to sit anywhere, which we did. As we were sitting, a group came in behind us and sat down. A father and son proceeded to come in after them to sit down. While we reviewed the menu, as did the other two groups that came after us, I noticed a waiter giving the group that came in right behind us some cups of water. I didn't think anything of it until she came back a few mins later and proceeded to ask that same group if they were ready to order. She went to the table with the father and son and asked them if they were ready. Then she came to us. We ordered our drinks and appetizers first. She immediately wanted to take our menus, I told her we'd hang on to one since we weren't done ordering. Our food comes out and we order our sushi choices. For me, the rice in the sweet potato roll was too tough. It was sticky rice but too sticky and a bit h if that makes sense at all. It just made it a little tough to chew on a piece. I gave it a second try but the rice was not it for me. Moving forward, we get our plate with sushi. Mind you, it's 2 rolls for two people...on one plate. We were never given any other dishes. I felt so messy dipping my pieces into their sauce and having it trickle on the table and my hand while it travels to my mouth. I asked for an extra sauce cup for my wife, it never came. My wife ordered a brisk iced tea, also never came. Should've listened to my wife when she wanted to go to Plan B for burgers.

This place is Soo YUMMM! My husband and I went in with our little one, and they we so accommodating…read moreand the food blew us away! We absolutely found a new favorite spot. The place is a tad small so if your confined to having a stroller I'd suggest a different way to bring along little ones. But again they absolutely acomidated our little family very comfortably. Can't wait to come back.

"Right before my very eyes Baby what a big surprise"…read more(Chicago) When was the last time, you were enjoying a gorgeous looking dish of Vegetable Tempura and realized OMG, I just chomped down on something crazy spicy? Well, that's what happens when you bite into an unadvertised half of a jalapeno pepper when the menu promises sweet potato, onion, and broccoli. Now look, as the late Sly Stone sang, "Different strokes for different folks", meaning that we all have different tolerances for spiciness. I was OK with that blazing piece of green, that for all purposes looked like a slice of Bell Pepper, but it set off fire alarms for my wife, who flat out couldn't eat it. Putting all that aside, we had a very enjoyable dinner. We got a lucky parking spot in a small lot right across the street and were seated without a reservation, which was also kind of lucky because Kisara doesn't have a lot of seating - I counted 8 tables (some for 4 and a few for 2) and nine seats at the bar. Our dinner ran a shade under $42 with tax for a 12-ounce bottle of Sapporo beer, the aforementioned Vegetable Tempura appetizer ($10), an Octopus Sushi appetizer (three pieces for $5.75, and two nice salads - an Avocado Salad ($7.25) and Teriyaki Chicken ($11.50). As you can see, Kisara's pricing is pretty good. The Tempura (save for the unexpected and unadvertised jalapeno halves) was very good - a generous serving of hot, crispy and oil free sweet potato planks, broccoli florets, and onion rings. My octopus sushi was pretty good. The pieces were large and presented beautifully. Maybe a minor quibble would be the chewiness factor of the octopus. The salads were very pretty - an attractive presentation of mixed greens, lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and a ginger dressing. My wife's salad had seven avocado slices and mine had ten chunks of teriyaki sauce glazed chicken chunks. Maybe another minor quibble would be the chewiness of the chicken, they were definitely overcooked. Positives Their menu is fantastic. Service was fine and included a few check-backs which are always appreciated Negatives There is no public WIFI - when I saw a Kisara network pop up, I asked for the password and was told "that's only for the manager". They don't really have a website, but you can somewhat see one via an ordering platform off their Facebook page. Conclusion For walking in off the street without a reservation, overall, we had a very nice dinner.
