Here's my review of Haya Sushi. First off I'd like to mention that it's only 8 minutes from my house. So, when I need a quick AYCE sushi fix I go to Haya. I've been there literally dozens of times since it opened. It's not the best I've ever had and it's definitely not the worst experience either. It is what it is. Don't expect premium sushi at an AYCE sushi restaurant, that's unrealistic for the price for sure. Don't complain that they charge you for uneaten food. That rule is literally posted EVERYWHERE. The service is somewhat spotty. One minute they're all over your table helping you and the next they will walk by your pile of empty dishes six times. Also, it's sorta a PITA to have to ask for what I consider "essential" sushi items like ginger and wasabi. Once in a while the rolls definitely don't taste fresh like leftovers from the day before type of thing. Also one time they left the plastic wrapper that my crab stick was wrapped with in my roll, the wrapper was in multiple pieces of my roll. I'm not one to really make a big deal out of stuff like that and when I mentioned the situation to the waitress she proceeded to tell the other staff at the waitress station who all got a good laugh about that. Didn't mention anything to the sushi chefs at all. A lot of weird little situations like that have made my review 3 stars. But, as I mentioned beforehand it's super close so I overlook things maybe I wouldn't otherwise. The bottom line is if you go to Haya be completely aware of the type of sushi place you're dealing with and adjust your expectations accordingly.

Quick, basic, but decent sushi Came here on their opening night, because we like sushi places and wanted to give this one a try. Got seated right away and given small menus to select from. We ordered a smattering of dishes. Takoyaki, Shumai, dumplings, crab Rangoons, sushi, a couple specialty rolls, and a fried Oreo for dessert. Most of our food came out very rapidly. The servers were new but friendly, always made sure our drinks were filled and our plates cleared. So service was good. The food was okay. They go for quantity rather than quality and it shows in spades. The execution is done well for an all you can eat place, they go heavy on the rice but they season the rice properly. The portions are smaller but you can order to your hearts content. The hiccups we had were also small but plentiful. They are Very adamant about their "no leftover" policy. We were constantly reminded that not eating everything would lead to separate charges for each item. Some items were not very good, but we had to eat them. Which we were constantly reminded of whenever we left even a single piece uneaten. We also cannot eat a lot, but still wanted to have one more roll to try. We placed in an order for this roll 4 times, and never got it. It's priced well for an all you can eat sushi place. It's a nice location and they can turn out a lot of food very quickly when they want to. It's still really new, and so long as you can handle some constant reminders about limiting food waste then it's not a bad place to try. Expect okay and quick sushi, and you'll be happy.

A great addition to the area. The staff were friendly and attentive. Restaurant was beautiful and well decorated. Seating was comfy and spacious. Upon seating you simple order from a form, allowing for easy and quick service. Good was served quickly and well executed. Sushi was fresh, flavors and combinations were well throughout. Cooked food was also well done. Will definitely be back when in the area.

5 star value 4 star service 3 star food. All you can eat lunch is a great value, but unlike buffet, you don't know what you get upfront. Note to self: Don't order Spicy Kani salad if you expect any leafy greens; Don't order beef Tataki or any rolls with beef on top if you don't eat raw beef; Don't order vegetable hibachi as the beef hibachi comes with plenty; Don't order two rolls if you want room for other food. Sadly, the best three items I had were not very Japanese like: Chicken tempura (like chicken fingers but huge, the most juicy chicken fingers ever), French fries & Gyoza.

Panko shrimp , 3 rolls . They douse everything in lots of sauce which takes away from the seafood .

Place is an old Denny's , leaves a lot to be desired . It is all you can eat but they charge for anything left on your plate . They give you a card to pick a few items at a time but the staff are not very attentive . Sushi was not as fresh as I would like . Miso was good . Ambiance was okay - again- left a lot to be desired

    Chicken and beef teriyaki

The food is very good especially for all you can eat, the menu has lots of options, the price is good for how much food you can get. The food comes out fast, and I love how you don't have to verbally order, just write down on the menu what you would like. And the servers are always friendly

The perfect spot for fresh sushi and excellent service.

Dinner was delicious! Apps came out hot and were super tasty. Sushi was fresh and made to perfection. The service was impeccable. The wait staff is welcoming and attentive to every need. Will definitely be returning.

Haya Sushi in Enfield is brand new to the town. They have so far been open for just under a month. I went here last night. They are All You Can Eat with a twist. Unlike other All You Can Eat Sushi Restaurants, this one is strictly All You Can Eat. Their cost per person is slightly less than at other establishments. It also costs the same during the week or the weekend. At $24.95, I'd say, that's pretty fair. I'm wondering if this cost is promotional because they're brand new. The space inside was spacious, clean, bright and inviting. It was very busy with Sushi lovers. They are currently not serving alcohol because they are waiting for the liquor license. Their menu is broad. There's all types of sushi rolls, soups, salads, they even have fries, chicken wings and more traditional items. Sashimi will cost you $0.50 for each piece. We were a party of five hungry first time guests of Haya Sushi. We had to mark up the menu of all the items we wanted. I was so impressed with how quickly they brought the food out. Despite being busy, and despite being new, they still had plenty of staff to flawlessly distribute the food where it was needed. One of the rolls I got was called Orange Blossom. It had nothing to do with oranges, but it was super fresh and delicious. Another tasty one was Shaggy Dog. Thankfully it has no relation to dogs, but it was again very fresh and flavorful. We were all stuffed from the table full of the most delicious sushi, soups and seaweed salads. I'm a fan of Haya Sushi, and I'll be here again very soon.

All you can eat..... But don't waste the food or they will charge you .... New restaurant here in a Enfield CT ... Close to home . Still sorta had that Denny's smell to it and its a sushi house .. Service was fast and friendly. Disappointed that had no gluten free soy sauce but I came with my own .. And I was ready to eat sushi. Unfortunately, our sushi rolls came out on a very warm plate. Huge red flag. You never serve sushi or cold items on warm plates.. sushi was room temperature again. Not a great sign. We did eat it but definitely prayed before eating it So after ordering three rolls which one of them I literally had to spit out of my mouth cuz it was just too warm and the fish was mushy and yeah...... We decided to try cooked only meals so we ended up ordering hibachi again. I had to order with no sauce due to the fact that they had no glutenfree soy sauce. Wasn't that impressive. Also ordered the beef tataki It was very rare but I don't mind my meat being rare. Very spicy, good flavor. Honestly, I wish I came on a lunch menu pricing because again, I don't feel like I got my money's worth at all . The bathroom was actually ice cold and that's how the sushi should have came. The bathroom was colder than there are sushi... I will give three stars just in case. People like room temperature sushi.. half the sushi I couldn't try anyways due to my celiac disease which would been the cook sushi and again I can't fault them for my own health issues but the sushi I did try room temperature. That's not how you eat sushi.

So excited Haya Sushi opened a second location in Connecticut! We've been up to their Springfield, MA location a few times and happy we have a closer option! Haya Sushi has a really extensive kitchen items which is awesome for your non-sushi lovers. They have some fun and unique specialty rolls like the Surf & Turf, Mexican Sunrise or Shaggy Dog. These specialty rolls are our go-to! We brought a party of 6 to our first visit to Enfield and went a little overboard. They brought out all our sushi on a boat and it was insane!!! We surprisingly finished everything (which they encourage) and even the table beside us told us they were impressed! Everything is made fresh to order and at $25 pp it's a great deal. Don't sleep on the french fries, they're a great palette cleanser!

My wife had a craving for rice during our last night in Connecticut, so stopped into this strip…read moremall restaurant near our hotel for an early dinner. The food (taste and value) and service was solid. It's an interesting name (like others, knew a 'Jimmy Chen' while growing up...Chen being a very popular surname in China and in the Chinese community in the U.S.). They have a good website, so was able to scout the menu before arriving and knew that we had missed their lunch specials. It wasn't too busy inside, and there was plenty of parking in the small strip mall (Sophia's Plaza). We were greeted immediately, led to a booth, and offered a free appetizer of deep fried wonton skins with sweet/sour sauce (appreciated since not a common practice on the West Coast). Chen's is marketed as Asian Cuisine which in this part of the country means Chinese (Chinese-American classics) and Japanese (sushi and bento) with a little bit of Thai (Pad Thai and Pineapple fried rice). We were too late to take advantage of the lunch menu special ($9.25 or $10.25 during 11:00 - 3:00), but Jimmy's offers the same as combo specials (anytime but priced higher at $13.25). Our server stated that the lunch option does have (slightly) smaller portions, and doesn't include the egg roll. We ordered two plates, shared between the two of us: C4 Beef Broccoli and C19 Garlic Shrimp, each coming with a big, fat egg roll well deep fried and a rich (greasy with chinese bbq pork) fried rice. The garlic sauce was really good, not too garlicky (noticing how a 'garlic' Chinese dish has quite a bit less garlic than a 'garlic' Italian dish). I loved that they used 5 really jumbo shrimps, each big enough to be split into 4 bites. The vegetables (broccoli, peppers, water chestnuts, and celery) were sliced thin and cooked well (though didn't have the distinctive wok-fried smokiness that i love). The beef dish wasn't as good...decent sauce and plenty of broccoli, but the sliced beef wasn't good...very mushy, almost parboiled, similar to the versions at buffets or a Panda Express. There is a full service bar inside, along with a sushi bar manned by a chef. For us, service was very good, with our waters being constantly refilled. Payment was done via clover (though done away from the table). It was a good last meal during our trip.

I really hate that Yelp doesn't allow half star increments. The reopened Iron chef is not quite 4…read morestars but it's a bit unfair to give it 3. However, I had to make a choice, given that I've been a bit disappointed twice in a row, 3 it is then. The first visit, I had lunch special Thai eggplants with hot & sour soup. The hot & sour soup was delicious, although it's not the original SiChuan style. It substituted the signature day lily buds to golden needle mushrooms instead. It appears to be the Fuzhou style where the owner & chef are from, nonetheless, it's still very tasty. The Thai eggplants didn't come with any meat. I didn't know it's a vegetarian dish until it's too late, would have preferred to add some beef to it. The flavor was good but it's just too greasy, it sits in a puddle of oil as you can see from the photo. There are ways to make it less greasy but it takes efforts. Efforts take time & time is money, Apparently, this was something not worthy of improving when I brought it up. I kind of understand it but also felt disappointed at the same time. The second lunch visit, i ordered my favorite Japanese dish Unagi Don, I.e. Grilled eel on rice. I was more disappointed than the first time. The eel was barely warm, from the taste & texture, I felt it was precooked & microwaved upon order. The eel sauce was subpar & the slight fishiness further supports my suspension. This is a subpar Unagi Don experience unfortunately. I don't feel so bad now on giving it 3 star. I may return one more time to try out their sushi sashimi offerings, however, not in a any rush & not getting my hopes up either.

However, they managed to up the game again when they presented another off the menu dish, pork kidney dish 爆腰花。 It's one of my absolute fav. Chinese dishes that's very rare among typical Chinese restaurants here, previously I had to go to Boston Chinatown to get it. Pacifica's rendition absolutely nailed it, super clean taste with added green for a healthy twist, 6 out of 5 stars! 2/22/2023 Continue to evaluate the Chinese menu. Todays lunch 红烧肉 earned another 5 stars. I rarely eat this dish because it uses the pork belly with fat, but the version here has the most lean meat. It also has a good portion of vegetables making it more healthy. The taste was spot on, really really awesome Feb. 2023. Pacifica continued to impress. Today I tried their Lamb noodle soup for lunch, not on the menu, not even on the Chinese menu. Only available from time to time but you had to ask. Lamb stew is bone in, authentic Chinese style with daikon & fresh baby Bok Choy, so flavorful that I felt being teleported back to Beijing. Amazing dish, I am giving it 6 out of 5 stars. Along with previous fav. of eggplant with beef, I am in love with this place! PS. Remember to ask for the wider knife cut or hand pulled noodle, they are epic! otherwise you get default skinny noodles.

They were very quick to make this order on the spot. So service here goes against the grain of what I've read on other reviews. We were happy with the level of service. We had takeout so we can't really comment on ambiance. My wife went in and felt that it was clean and the people were very friendly and customer focused. Prices are good compared to other Asian restaurants in the area. The food wasn't world class but it wasn't terrible either. I had pad Thai chicken, it wasn't very spicy, and was just fair IMO. The flavors all seemed a bit blunted. My wife and daughter had sushi, again it wasn't world class but they've had better and fresher. Nothing wrong but nothing stellar either. The Kani crab salad was very good. The broccoli with garlic sauce was fresh, and delicious. So some hits, some misses, solid middle of the road for this encounter.
