Ate here for the first time and sat at the sushi bar. I was greeted promptly but service went downhill a bit from there. I wasnt checked on again after putting my order in which resulted in me running out of drink and having to wait around to order another sushi roll. I ended up getting The twister roll, which was my favorite, and the dynamite roll which I felt had a bit to much sauce. The parking lot is very small. We had the car break down on the way home from NY and this is where we waited for the tow truck, so it only made sense to pop in for some western mass sushi! Cute little place with a nice roll menu and prices were extremely reasonable. The spicy tuna roll was a little too much tuna and crunch and little too little rice, but flavor was on. Blue Water Sushi has quickly become one of our favorite local sushi spots. I started coming here in January 2021 and started bringing my itty bit . My kiddo loves their Pink Lady, Chicken Katsu, and Sweet Potato (add Tobiko) Rolls. While I'm also partial to the Pink Lady Roll (how my kiddo learned about it), I love the Salmon Lovers Combo. The owners, sushi chefs, waiters, and waitresses are all fantastic. They accommodate a multitude of requests and are friendly. Blue Water has pick-up and dine-in options. Unsure about delivery through 3rd parties. About a half dozen seats are available at the sushi bar with another 15 or so other tables in the teo dining area. One large table is available for larger parties of 8 or more near the pick-up counter close to the entrance. The restaurant atmosphere is not only casual enough for families to bring their children but also nice enough for date nights. Some days are quieter than others, though it never gets rowdy. Two caveats: A couple times a week, particularly at night, service can slow down. While they try to estimate the wait time for both pick-up and dine-in, sometimes the time is longer than predicted. When getting take-out, double-check your order when it's during rush hour. A couple of times, we had something missing. Unfortunately, we didn't check before leaving and weren't able to return. Overall, I highly recommend Blue Water to anyone in or near the area. read more

I let her know I had to be gf, she thanked me for letting her know ahead of time. She went over the whole menu explaining what was safe and what items could be cross-contaminated. She brought gf soy sauce to the table before she took our orders. I felt safe here, not like some other restaurants I've dined in. So I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to try the food here. When we walked in, I noticed it was a very warm and friendly environment. The waitress was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I ordered one of their entrées that included sashimi, sushi, and one spicy tuna roll. My son ordered shrimp, tempura and shrimp shumai. My sister ordered sashimi. When the food came, it was fresh tasting and delicious. Everything was perfectly prepared and right on the money. In addition to a few good non-fish staples like peanut avocado roles, they have a superb chicken katsu sushi. They even appear to offer a soybean paper wrapper alternative to the seaweed. I lived in Miami until 2000. I have been eating great sushi for 40+ years. Typically I go to Ichiban in South Hadley ( nothing to look at for decor) or Ichiban East Longmeadow but few people recommended Blue Water. I have no intention of ever going back. Service was ridiculously slow and it was not crowded. There was a large birthday party on the other side of the restaurant. They were so loud and obnoxious you couldn't even hear the waiter. Food was ok, 6-7 at best if I am being generous. The teriyaki chicken was tasteless and was so thin it was practically like slice lunch meat. The roll was good. The shrimp tempura and vegetables were so so very greasy. The pool of grease under were they were was disgusting. I would pass if you want good Sushi or any Japanese food. The prices are right up there so no advantage for cost. Extremely disappointed. read more

My favorites are the crab puffs and sweet potato roll. Service is great and always prompt. I'm giving four stars because I do feel there are fresher options in Western Mass.
