This is the 2nd time I have visited Desert Hills Premium Outlets and have eaten at Kahala's. Both times Todd was there, the owner. Turns out he has been there for over 30 years. Got to speak with him 3 years ago, and then a few days ago. Super nice and helped me and a friend pick out our meals. This time it was the turkey with provolone cheese, chips, and a strawberry smoothie. My friend had already eaten but got an iced coffee drink. My sandwich was very good. It was morning still and the smoothie was a bit too much to drink, but we thanked Todd, and he gave me a sweet iced tea on the house to go. This mall is huge and I think they only have one restaurant and a small food court with like 6 eateries. I recommend this one, and I recommend coming to these outlets at least once. Stopped to grab a quick bite at Cabazon Outlets while our EV was charging nearby. This place is great to grab a sandwich (comes with a bag of chips for ~$15), smoothie, or shake (~$10.50). The sandwiches are nothing special, and the date shake is mostly ice cream with a faint date flavor. But the service at the counter was warm and quick. read more

We were hot and thirsty. 98 degrees outside. We ordered a large Diet Coke. I know. I know. A review for a soda sounds weird but - stay with me. We were greeted by a man who had a big smile and seemed very sincere when he asked how I was doing. We ordered the soft drink and he seemed pleased to be able to serve it to us, as if it were a $50 order or something. Todd is such a sweet man! He is funny and knowledgeable in the menu and makes a delicious peanut butter banana smoothie. My cousin was raving about the smoothie from here and I had to try it... so glad I did! The service was really good. The smoothies were really good as well Only thing is kinda expensive for a smoothie. Total was $22.09 for the 2 jumbo. Alot of variety as well so you will definetly find something to order. Prices arnt really posted on alot of items so when you get the bill can be a bit surprising. The Mango/Pineapple was delicious and refreshing and Muscle Enhancer smoothie was creamy and filling yet delicious. The owner made our smoothies and was very quick and kind. I had just finished camping at Joshua Trees with about 10 friends. Then we decided to go to Cabazon Outlets to do some shopping and browsing since Black Friday is around the corner and also Christmas is next month. I was really drained from the camping trip, so I definitely needed some coffee. I know there is a Starbucks here but I wanted to try a different coffee place and this place sounded so amazing and the menu was pretty big so I decided to try this place out. The ambience was all right since it is shared with other restaurants. And the service was really good. The employees were patient and recommended the best options of whatever you wanted. But the reason for the two stars is because everything here was very overpriced. I bought a large iced caramel coffee for about $7.50 and with tax it was about close to $9 dollars. I know inflation is going up and increasing these prices but for coffee it is too overpriced. Not even Starbucks sells coffee that expensive. I wanted to give it a try even though it was overpriced but the coffee was very diluted and tasted more like sugar water instead. Something that you can purchase at 7-Eleven. My friends really wanted some ice cream, and out of eight of them, only two people buy ice cream because they really wanted some but the rest decided not to buy it from there because it was too overpriced. A cone was about seven dollars, almost the same price as the coffee. And even with that price you are able to buy a pint of ice cream elsewhere. Overall, I definitely will not come back to this place at all. read more

I am very surprised with my purchase. I ordered one hot coffee and saw $4.75 first, then I asked for a cup of hot water to take medicine. The old man said a cup of hot water will go with fee. I was okay for that, but totally my bill was $7.25. What??? How much is a cup of hot water? $2.5? The price of coffee is also overpriced than other stores, especially the big store like Starbucks. Just hot coffee, no cream no milk, no specific, with a regular cup. I know we are going to the shopping, but the price of them is not suitable. I wanted to share my experience. So Todd helped us on this busy summer Sunday. Let's skip how good the coffee was or how neat and organized the actually establishment is. big kudos to Todd. he had a big smile on his face and helped us out with our order with amazing customer service. He was the only one working the line was always 8-9 people long and no matter how busy it got this man did not take his foot off the gas. I watched him as i drank my coffee and customer after customer he was extremely helpful and super quick at the register. i can appreciate a hard working person like that. i hope this place gets properly staffed eventually because todd deserves a break! read more

From the first impression to the last impression, this place is not concern at all about customer service or customer satisfaction but feeds out of the fact that there is no other coffee stand nearby. We spent about $30 on coffees and snacks but we walked away feeling crappy and I was so close to asking her for a refund. The lady gave us the biggest attitude and did not have any fundamental customer ethics 101...! She lady was simply mean...! The coffee was way too dark so we asked for some hot water and she charged us a dollar. Ok that would have been fine if she didn't give us the biggest attitude!!! Note to owners of this coffee shop: get your customer service straight...! Your employees represent your company's image and having service like this should never be tolerated. I know, a totally random combination... but the warm chili looked so enticing on that cold, rainy November day. Anyway... the coffee - I'm not even sure they used a real espresso machine to make my coffee because it came out so fast. The chili was awful... it was mostly slop with a few beans and zero meat. Terrible Service, Terrible Coffee I never appreciated the quality control and consistency of a Starbucks or Tom n Tom's til this experience First, they charge $3.50 for a Cafe Americano Nearly 2.5x the amount Starbucks charges a stones throw away After receiving a burnt tasting water Americano that no amount of sugar or cream could help save face, I filed a complaint with my friend to the barista. What ensued was a comedy of errors in trying to resolve a simple problem. The barista and owner (Interestingly a striking visage of a Harrison Ford bust) first ignored me and a couple of other inquiring customers on the side and continued to dally behind the counter. When I finally got a hold of him I said that my Americano tasted off and would like a replacement or anything but this monstrosity. What I got instead was a 5 min lecture on how I was wrong, and that I apparently needed my taste buds readjusted. I also received a show on how to pour. "LOOK IM PUTTING THE GROUNDS IN, NOW IM POURING THE WATER, SEE NOW ITS MAKING, SEE SEE SEE????" Looking back this scene would have the potential to almost have been comical if it wasn't actually so atrocious. His charming wife and fellow barista in chief chimed in, "I don't know what coffee is like from where YOUR from but this is what a real Americano is like." ........................um excuse me? Now you're talking down your clientele's knowledge of a product that you poorly serve? And slapping that on with a subtle Race card?? (As they offhandedly flung the cup at me and gave me a backhanded glare I vowed silently there would be blood shed on the arena of the internet.........) I didn't seem to be the only one befuddled with this faux coffee offering When a man got a cappuccino half-empty and mostly froth complained, the owners wife and apparent coffee connoisseur extraordinaire replied with a "thats what a real cappuccino is like" and then shooed him away. A hefty sum for mediocre gas station coffee coupled with god awful service push this business into a realm of 1 star ness I hope I will never approach again. Terrible customer service, terrible coffee and they charge for a cup of water. Water: I needed hot water to warm up a bottle of milk and it was $1.08. The guy behind the counter explained that it goes thru their filtration system, that's why they charge. How about you get tap water and nuke it for me instead? I was in a hurry to feed the little one, otherwise I would have told him to pound sand. We also ordered an iced coffee and a flavored hot coffee. Both coffees were taken from an already brewed container of coffee. There's a shiny, fancy coffee maker right next to it, how about you brew fresh coffee when people are paying more than $4 a drink?
