The sushi from here is bomb! Ever since we have tried the Erin roll we could not get any other kinds of rolls anywhere else lol.

The food is great. The cooks are nice and professional. The service is very hands on and the table to sit on the cushions are my favorite!

Enjoyed my sushi roll. It was delicious. However my hibachi meal was lacking . It came with literally one piece of broccoli that came with my veggies. I keep going back for the convenience but it seems like my last few visits always came with some issue or another. read more

Slop the hogs!! This is a quantity or quality place if I've ever seen one. Trying to make up for being closed by mass-producing food to go. To-go orders are prioritized over in-house customers, vent fans don't work well so the whole building is filled with smoke. Dining room packed and 45 minute wait when we arrived at 5:30. Ordered food at the bar, waited about 30 minutes because they had so many to-go orders to process. We ate the soup and salad-the salad was swimming in 3 inches of dressing. Still no sign of food being ready and empty drinks for a while. After about 30 minutes the whole place emptied out and we decided to get seated at a table. Meanwhile, it's getting smokier and smokier inside. By the time we ordered at the table I was overwhelmed by the smoke so decided to leave. Seems like the vents were either off or not functioning since the smoke from the grills were overflowing into the restaurant vs being vented outside. Won't be returning and don't recommend unless you have no concerns about quality. Even if ordering to-go, it seems they are in such a hurry to crank food out, there wouldn't be much quality control. Hoping we don't get sick from the things we did eat. read more

We went there for dinner last week and experienced something very disturbing and distasteful. The cooks take a rubber chicken, make it squeal and run it across the grill as if frying it to death. And we were eating chicken at the next grill. We couldn't finish our food. We called in later and spoke with the owner/manager and he acted surprised and said he would take care of it. So we went back tonight. Reminded him to not have the cooks use the rubber chicken and our cook had it still on his cart. We don't want to see anything that resembles what we are eating. The cook at the next grill did the same thing we requested not happen. They don't get it, that is very disturbing and distasteful. One of the children at that table started to cry, it was terrifying for her. Needless to say we will NOT be going back! read more

I don't think I've ever been to a hibachi grille on a whim... these places are generally used as "special occasion" restaurants... the proof? Well, I made a reservation last night for my MIL's b-day dinner and POOF... we were seated immediately upon opening at 5PM last night... the service and swift accommodation of families with reservations is to be praised.. and they really do a great job of trying to seat walk-ins too (from what I could tell)... BUT... there were SIX other "happy happy birthday" songs being sung around us as my MIL's was being finished... it was hilarious and became the joke of the evening... the space is so very loud with conversation that no sooner do you try to carry on the conversation than BOOM BOOM BOOM go the drums and another chorus of "happy happy birthday" brings down the house... IN SHORT - the food here is excellent... the cooks CLEARLY enjoy what they're doing... the service is excellent, and they REALLY try to make 100% sure that you are happy, and that your food order is correct... BUT the atmosphere is super loud... so if you have family that's hard of hearing... just giggle and bear it... there's no getting around the noise here! I came here with coworkers and friends a very long time ago for a girls night. It was a pretty awesome time! They were able to accommodate our very large party without any trouble. We did not have to wait long to place our order or to eat. I was happy by the swiftness of service. The food is delicious. I like that they serve rice AND noodles, not that I can eat it all....well maybe I can, don't judge! They give SO MUCH food it's crazy. It's always fun to do hibachi. We did make a reservation and probably waited 15 minutes or so which was fine. I don't frequent hibachi places but it was my son's birthday and he requested it so we knew what to expect. The service of the drinks and sides were fine but the hibachi presentation was mediocre at best. Other seatings had better presentations than our guy but ours was meh. I've been to other hibachi places that put on a way better entertaining show than our guy or any other cook I saw at this place. Let's be honest, that's why you're there anyway. Tons of food. I sat next to a group of three people who spent their time at the table constantly complicating and change their order so that they could eventually find a complaint and get some items to take off their bill. The only way to order takeout is via their online ordering from their website. It's the worst experience I've ever had ordering a meal online. Wow, what a MASSIVE FAILURE!!! Save your frustration and skip Kabuto's. What was once a 3.5 -4 Star dining experience is now well short of expectations. Portions of meat, chicken and fish have become miniscule. Service has fallen off so badly that it's not fair to refer to it as service. I understand restaurants are having a hard time because "no one wants to work." But good restaurants, good managers and good owners are finding ways to overcome this. I eat out regularly and many restaurants are back up to 100%. I'm not convinced that Kabuto's will even remain open. I last reviewed Kabuto about a year ago. We ordered takeout and it was a very disappointing experience. Unbelievably, it has gotten worse. So much so that it was time to update my review and rating. We have dined in a couple of times and gotten take out several times over the year. We probably average dining there every 6 weeks or so. Maybe a little less often now because it has become so unreliable. Tonight we decided we wanted takeout. We considered several of our regular places and decided on Kabuto. They want you to use the online ordering but I still try and call because I would rather speak to someone if possible. I called and reached someone who sounded less than enthusiastic to take my call. I asked about placing an order to go and the voice at the other end mumbled something about being busy. I asked them to repeat themselves and got an explanation that they are too busy to have anyone take an order over the phone, so to use online ordering. OK, no big deal. Except our experience went downhill fast. Their online ordering does not allow for any exceptions, comments, substitutions, etc. If you are allergic to an ingredient, too bad. So, we worked through the menu ordering a couple of combination dinners, an extra side and so on. After completing the order you have to choose a pick up time and then enter your payment info. We did all of this and submitted the order. And it failed. It seems that in the brief time it took to enter payment information, our pickup time was no longer available. You'd think it was no big deal. A well-designed and written web page would prompt you to choose an updated pickup time and then submit the order. Their website is NOT well-designed. It is completely half-assed. Kabuto out-sourced this operation and apparently never tested the process because it fails miserably. After the order failed we were prompted to choose a new pickup time. As it turns out, the next slot (which was only 5 mins later) was available. So we picked that slot. So far so good.... But then you are presented with the need to complete all of the payment information again. This includes entering your address, phone, cc number, date, security code, etc. In other words, a cumbersome and time-consuming process. It's especially time consuming if you've already created a membership on their site which apparently doesn't benefit you at all because it does not save said information. You have to enter it all over again. Guess what happens when you take the time to do that? Yes, your order is rejected again because now your second pickup time has been taken by someone else. Only now it's really getting busy so the next pickup slot is an additional 15 minutes later. That's OK except, you guessed it, the website wiped all of your information again. You get to start over entering all of your information after you've now picked a time that's much later than you originally planned. But guess what? Now that pickup time is not available. And....wait for it....your laboriously entered information is wiped yet again. It is time for us to take an extended break from Kabuto. The good thing for us is that there are NUMEROUS alternatives in our area. And most of them appear to be running far better than Kabuto. My guess is that this place is hobbling along just waiting for a death blow. It's a shame. There was a time when the food was very good, service was excellent and the experience was worthwhile. Those days are long gone. We called a competitor and they took our order over the phone and had it ready in 20 minutes. read more

My family and I went here today, May 8, 2021, I went inside to put our name in, and was told they aren't taking anymore walk-ins, only people who made reservations. The food was pretty average for hibachi style food. I had hibachi shrimp. Of course the chef tried to put on a show but it was more annoying than entertaining. It was way too much noodles and then they want to give you rice after that. I guess that's too distract you from the fact that you won't be getting much of your meat of choice. The shrimp I had was good. The upside is it's hot because it's right off the grill. The waiter was attentive and kept the drinks full. I would eat here again. I met a friend here for lunch and we went towards the end of the lunch hours to avoid the crowd. We both got the chicken teriyaki entree with soup, noodles and veggies. For less than $10 this is a good deal but I think compared to many other Japanese hibachi places like this, the food is a bit lackluster. The cook put just a tad of teriyaki sauce on the chicken and it was an up-charge of 95 cents. I mean, if you are going to charge me more, let's really make it teriyaki chicken. *face palm* All in all, I may return if invited and other places in the area aren't open for lunch; but I would rather wait until dinner and go somewhere else. read more

We were seated immediately and our cook had a dry sense of humor that my family appreciates. He was engaging, fun and interactive. Just a bad experience from start to finish. Seated right away, the place just looks tired, like the owners are only keeping it open to launder money or for a tax write off. They forgot our rice, the chef didn't do any cool tricks for our table, the food was average and it took them 10 mins to bring the check, and another 15 mins to provide change for two twenties... I called today to order dinner and the female who answered would not let me order my food with out interrupting.This has caused my order to be completely incorrect. Not to mention I waited 20 minutes for the incorrect order with out apology and was forced to pay full price. So, this is the second time we have been to Kabuto's in the last six months. This was for my Granddaughters 6th Birthday party. We were taken to a Party room, which was great. The Server came and took our drink orders, all of us wanted SAKE...OUT No SAKE???? Really ? Okay On to the Show. Flat Grill Chef came out and tossed Zucchini into everyone's mouth, What happened to the Shrimp they used to toss. Then we all got the first load of UNSEASONED Noodles, Huge amount...No flavor, Then the Fried ?? Rice, Also UNSEASONED, Then our separate meals... I had the Filet and Lobster which is a 41.99 dinner. The Filet was tender, the lobster fresh, but No seasoning...Not even salt and pepper. We all received a tiny dish of shrimp sauce. I am just so surprised that it is so expensive and not good food. The Miso Soup is now chicken broth and the ginger salad is just leaf lettuce. We all asked for more condiments and soy sauce and chili sauce. We needed something to flavor it up with. My first time and the Last time! The first 10 minutes was fine, but the rest was a waste of our time and money. $85.00 in the toilet. Most everything tasted bland. Especially the rice, noodles and vegetables. Very little flavor in meats as well with the exception of the scallop. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The three of us on one end of the table and a family of three on the other end. I was happy because when I'm the last one seated at a table I feel rushed trying to eat quickly trying to catch up. They took our orders and two minutes our soup was salad was served at the same time. At this point I'm confused. Where are the rest of the people at our table? All other tables were full and people were still coming in. I barely had time to taste the soup when the chef arrives to prepare dinner. I complained to deaf years. But I made it clear this was not what I expected. No interaction with other guests. No fun atmosphere. I was looking forward to at least a little bit of entertainment. But instead a dull time while the full table next to us were laughing and having a blast!!! The highlight of my night was clapping when they were singing happy birthday to another guest at another table. I was so angry. All I did was focus on my soup and salad. I had them half eaten when the chef (lol) started filling my plate with the tasteless food from the grill. I tasted everything and that is all I could stomach since I was so upset. The other two people with me did eat their food and we left. So I wanted to check them out and I did and they sucked so back to Nakato's Japanese restaurant. They are better. I ordered my food from Kabuto's over the phone at 11:40 am. The man on the phone told me it will be ready in 10 minutes, my lunch starts at 12 so perfect that gives them 10 mins to get it ready and 10 mins to make sure it's ready. (Normally it's always ready in 10mins) I got there at 12:05 which means it had been 25 mins, 15 mins over the ready time. I go in and the guy asked me how can I help you, I let him know I had a pick up order for myself (there were 2bags on the counter) He says OK then he proceeds walk off to go and help 5 other people before even checking if my food was out/ ready or anything. 10mins pass by, And then after that he goes in the back & I see him packing up another bag, which ended up not being mine and he ask me if I ordered online or on phone, I said on phone, he said what did you have? I said express hibachi steak he with what? I said do you not have my order in? He said no. So now it has been 35-40 mins since I've placed my express lunch order and they haven't even started it! Normally I wouldn't be upset BUT he would have known this had he checked on my food when he asked me how he could help me. As well as because now I have to go back to work hungry because I don't have time left in my break to wait or eat anything. read more
