My son treated me to a dinner here recently...and we noticed some big changes. Since last time here (not too long ago), they added these big, comfy booths in the middle of the restaurant. Also, they added some spooktacular Halloween decor! We stopped in around 6:30 pm on Monday night, and was able to slide right into a seat with no wait. We ordered 2 apps, Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Tempura...and both were really good. In fact, my son thought it was possibly the best Rangoon he's ever had. Shrimp Tempura was super-crispy...and there were 5 big strips. Yum!! For our mains, I just got this sushi roll, "Hottie Roll". It was pretty good, but somewhat basic. Nothing like the rolls I tried the very first time here (see pics from my 1st visit...WOW??). My son got this Chicken Teriyaki rice dish, and he told them to take out the veggies (*SIGH*). He seemed to enjoy his dish. Overall, we both enjoyed our meal...and found the restaurant very relaxing and accommodating. Honestly, I was most impressed on my first visit...with their chef-inspired sushi presentation. I think that was the master sushi chef for this restaurant? Still, there's no better place in Rock Hill that offers such a comprehensive sushi menu, as well as a wide variety of rice dishes...and even ramen.

After drinking some wine next door at the nail salon, I decided I needed to get some food in my belly. The person at the salon said the food at Kobe was good, so I decided to try it out. It was December so they had a nice Christmas tree in their lounge area located next to the bar at their front entrance. The crab rangoon was excellent. Very crispy. The dynamite chicken was just ok. It was pretty flavorless and the chili spice I asked for didn't help much. It was disappointing that I got a coke for $3 and was never offered a refill. I ran out. The atmosphere is typical bar like. They do have regular tables to sit at. I would try it again, I may have just ordered the wrong thing to be impressed.

The sushi was excellent! Super fresh and delicious. Hibachi was fantastic too. Best spring rolls I've ever had. The only complaint I have is not with the food but the very inattentive waiter on a not busy Thursday evening after 8pm. Food was A+ but service was a C at best. I'm looking forward to returning and trying other menu items.

Salad w ginger dressing. Samaria roll and dragon roll no spicy mayo! Yummy

The restaurant is clean and has great ambiance. Hostess and waitress (Ella) were extremely friendly and made us feel at home. Food was served hot and very delicious. Our friends have been here several times and recommended it to us for his birthday. We will be back and pricing is reasonable.

We love Kobe!! The food is always phenomenal and, more so, the staff is phenomenal. We have quickly become regulars and love the speciality rolls. Each time we visit the staff remember us and always go above and beyond, specifically for our one year old who they have dubbed Sweet Carrot Baby.

This is a really nice spot! Service is great. The Godzilla roll was delicious! Only thing was I wish it had three more pieces of sushi because I was still hungry afterwards. The pieces are quite thin.

My son found this place and was always bragging about it. He brought his mother and myself here so that we could try it for ourselves, and "BOY" am I glad we did! May I say the food and drinks were excellent along with the service. The flavors and food presentations were outstanding. The Chef's are true artisans. To go along with the complete dining experience, Ella and the rest of the wait staff have always gone above and beyond expectations each and every time that we have come back. They genuinely care and understand the concept of real customer service. From the greetings at the door until the "Thank You's" as you leave. This is truly our new favorite spot, as we have celebrated my son's birthday here as well as put it into our regular dining rotation. I have nothing but high recommendations and assurances that you won't be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this place during a work trip and shockingly surprised coming from CA! Service was great and fish was fresh! This would be double the price at my usual spot in California! What a great experience.

After quite a few delish bites, I realized I had to take a pic and give 5 stars on my incredible Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. It was so.good. The vegetables were seasoned so well, everything was so fresh and the portion was extremely generous. My wife had the Rockin Roll and said it was her new fav. Shout out to the tempura brownie & ice cream! Rock Hill is so lucky to have you Kobe!

And to those of you who write reviews, as I do, you owe it to the staff, management and owners to immediately deal with it. I did not want to make a scene as it was a busy weekend, so I was wrong. I later talked with Tony, one of the owners, who was extremely helpful as we went over the issue. Unfortunately, my bad, there was little he could do to rectify the situation and to determine just why the steak was not to my satisfaction. For whatever the reason, I can assure you, as I did with Tony, that when my wife and I return that is there are any issues I will immediately bring it up to the manager. A good reminder lesson for me. Butcher Shop does have excellent, high quality meat. We will be looking at how the cooking part goes. Could have been a bad night. We will see.

The shop also has a small bar and a small dining area. Friendly staff, nice menu, comfortable atmosphere. Menu specials offered, most of us ordered the meatball lunch with red sauce, mozzarella cheese , fried grits with goat cheese, others ordered a crab cake sandwich, Cuban sandwich, side of mushrooms and a side of hot honey brussel sprouts We all liked what we ate. However for me the fried grit squares had no detection of goat cheese in them and seemed to me not the best addition to compliment the meatballs. The mushrooms tasted standard. However we all loved the hot honey roasted brussel sprouts and I enjoyed them more than the meatballs! Food plately nicely, brought out hot, good portions size. We certainly would return and try somet other menu choices.

This is somewhat of a loud, honky tonk dive, but I personally love their complimentary bread rolls and their amazing house butter...and they generously load you up with 2 batches! We were a little confused as to how to enter the restaurant, but I chalk that up to being tired. The space is wide open and airy, with large windows and skylights. The restaurant was nice and clean, save for something that was splashed on the wall in our booth - but it's a restaurant. There's going to be little picky things here and there and I'm sure it was wiped down by the end of the day! Our hostess was also our server and she was so knowledgeable about the menu. I took her suggestions at every turn and did not regret it. We started off with the Bang Bang Brussels Sprouts app and let me tell you - I could've eaten that as my entire meal. They are SO delicious and I'll be dreaming of them until I can return to Rock Hill. Holy cow, they were good - crispy on the outside, loaded with flavor and just enough spice to give the sweetness a little bite. So good. My husband had the country fried steak and he said it was very good. Not the best he's ever had, he said, but good enough. He wished there'd been more steak and less crust, but the flavor was right on. They were out of the salt and pepper flounder, so I changed my order to the ranch chicken. Ummmm....excuse me. Who says not to order chicken breasts at restaurants? The portion size is SO generous and the chicken is SO DELICIOUS that I, the girl who rarely bothers to take leftovers, boxed up what was left and brought it back to my hotel and ate it as a midnight snack. The grilled zucchini served on the side of it was delicious. If I ever get back, I'll ask if I can skip the potatoes in favor of more of that zucchini! We didn't really have room for dessert, but when we heard about the warm banana pudding, we were curious. DO NOT SKIP THIS DESSERT. If you're a banana pudding fan, this will blow your mind. Absolutely incredible! It's both warm and cool at the same time, caramelized bananas and a torched meringue topping were bowl-licking delicious. All in all, this was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The setting alone makes this place special -- the river view is stunning and I can imagine it's even better at sunset. Our reservation was for 7:00 pm, so we missed the sunset, but the nighttime view was still great for a date night atmosphere. I started with the she-crab soup and I'm very glad I did -- it was absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start the meal. My girlfriend ordered the meatballs as her appetizer. They were good, but not a knock-out. After tasting them myself, I'd agree they didn't quite stand out compared to the rest of the meal. For our main course, we both chose the surf and turf and this is where everything really hit. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and very flavorful, and the shrimp served over roasted garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. The shrimp were labeled "blackened" -- they may have been lightly blackened, but either way they tasted great. We both thoroughly enjoyed the entrée. We also ordered a shareable bowl of roasted garlic mashed potatoes, which ended up being a bit disappointing only because we didn't realize our main course already came with a generous portion of the same potatoes. Had we known, we would've ordered something different. That said, our waitress Lisa handled it perfectly -- she agreed she should've mentioned it and had management remove the extra order from the bill. That level of service was very much appreciated and says a lot about the staff and management. We finished the evening with the milk chocolate mousse, served in a decorative edible chocolate/white chocolate bowl -- a really nice presentation and a sweet ending to the night. We paired our meal with a Moscato d'Asti (Codero) which complemented the dinner nicely. Overall, a romantic setting, strong entrées, great service recovery, and a memorable Valentine's dinner. A couple minor misses on appetizers and communication about sides, but nothing that would keep us from coming back. The Pump House is definitely a great choice for a special occasion or date night.
