Blue Orchid stands out as one of the best Asian restaurants I've visited in a long time. I serendipitously discovered it via Siri while searching for "Asian food near me." It's quaint...small but cozy. We placed our appetizer orders with our drinks, and bottled sodas arrived right away, followed quickly by the food. The crab rangoons were a highlight because they were scorching hot and super fresh like they were made just seconds ago, and delicious. The spring rolls (four per order) were equally fresh, mouth-burningly hot, and delicious. We all ordered hibachi meals, one shrimp, one steak (medium), and one steak (medium rare). The steaks were cooked exactly to order with crisp, perfectly seasoned vegetables and rice. The shrimp sauce (aka yum yum sauce, aka white sauce) matched my favorite from Kabutos. The ginger dressing on the salads was the best I've had in the city, maybe the state. I cleared my plate and my mother swears she's never seen me eat so much. The service was excellent, prices were reasonable, and every element, from piping-hot food to spot-the-spot execution, exceeded expectations. I'll return soon for their sushi. I really liked this spot! It's your classic little restaurant in a strip mall. Parking was easy, ambiance decent. Our servers were so friendly! And helpful in making recommendations, which we always ask (I'm indecisive!). Food wise - I enjoyed my food. We ordered a spicy hibachi steak, teriyaki chicken, a crazy roll and a spicy tuna roll. Everything was solid. Nothing will change your life, but you'll certainly have a good experience, good food, fair prices. Decided to try this place for the first time last night and it did not disappoint! Our appetizers and sushi were amazing, and the staff were kind and patient. There were so many rolls that sounded yummy that it made it hard to choose. We got the gyoza and edamame to start, the edamame was perfectly salted and the gyoza were soft with crispy sides. For sushi, we got yellowtail and smoked salmon nigiri, the crazy roll, rainbow roll, negihama roll, golden phoenix roll and pacific roll. The rolls were big, delicious and fresh! Visited on New Year's Day for lunch on way back home. Everything was really good. I had the Grand Canyon and Crimson Sky rolls. Both were really good but the Crimson Sky was my favorite. Husband had chicken katsu (dinner portion) and said it was really tasty and fried perfectly. Breading stayed on unlike some and was served with real katsu sauce. Was a good portion and he ate it all. Inside is super tiny, but they were pretty full. The staff was very friendly when I went in to pick up my order and they even had a Yell trophy on the register. How cool! My sushi was good, but not the best I've ever had. I think I may have enjoyed it more if I ate there instead of to go. Stopped in for lunch the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the place was empty. It's a small dine in area but it's clean and well decorated. We were greeted and sat immediately. Everyone welcomed us in. I ordered the chicken lo mein (lunch special) and my partner the chicken ramen. Both meals were excellent. Very flavorful and served piping hot. Sometimes ramen is too salty for me but this broth was delicious. We noticed that take out is popular here. Many people coming in to pick up to go orders. Followed by four rolls. "Mango Tango" had a sweet sauce and while it was good, I'd choose something else next time. Tried Blue Orchid on a whim driving past looking for a lunch spot. Pleasantly surprised by the service, food and music. Worship music played as we ate lunch, providing a calming lunch experience. There are 3 tables that seat 4, 3 booths that seat 4 and 2 high rise tables that seat 3. There are also 3 seats at the window to see food prep. Our sushi rolls came out fast and were super fresh. The chicken tempura roll was the best one I've ever had. My sister said the Alaskan roll was good but the Caprese roll was the best. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Unassuming exterior in a little strip mall but the food was good, fresh and I feel falls into a 4-star category. Little on the pricey side with little stickers on the menu over the original pricing indicating a rise in prices and some of the rolls being $20 each but overall a good experience. When I found this restaurant on Yelp, it had 5 stars so since I was in the neighborhood and needed food for dinner, I had to give the a try. I wasn't able to order ahead so I ordered in the restaurant. The sushi was absolutely delicious and in addition to the regular sushi offerings, they have items that are not common. I tried the Mango Tango roll and it was spectacular! I was surprised at the flavors in the roll...yummy! I also had vegetable fried rice that also tasted above and beyond the fried rice of others. It made me think the food is prepared without fluff to make it better. I can't wait to go back to Blue Orchid for more sushi. The menu is varied with Ramen, Udon, Yaki, Lo Mein, Singapore noodles, and much more. I will have to try the Ramen noodle bowls and the Sushi Salad at a later date as I will want more sushi when I next visit. I ordered a Dragon roll and it came out looking and tasting amazing, dragon roll is a little pricey and is Market price but worth it, also ordered a tuna and salmon roll and they came with a hint of wasabi (i can't stand wasabi) i expressed that i didn't know wasabi came on/in the roll and they remade it free of charge. The Ambiance is calm, relaxed and the worship music is like a cherry on top. Unassuming hole in the wall with decent food. If I'm in the area I would certainly come back, but not sure if I'd go out of my way for it. Came for lunch and ordered the 2 rolls combo that came with a salad. The salad was decent with the ginger dressing a little on the sweet side. The rolls were good...nothing amazing, but good rolls. I tend to like my spicy tuna more on the sauce spice than that peppered tuna spice, and this is more a peppered tuna spicy tuna - so I wasn't a huge fan. The tempura shrimp roll was more avocado and cucumber with a tiny piece of shrimp, but the elements were flavorful.
