I really liked this spot! It's your classic little restaurant in a strip mall. Parking was easy, ambiance decent. Our servers were so friendly! And helpful in making recommendations, which we always ask (I'm indecisive!). Food wise - I enjoyed my food. We ordered a spicy hibachi steak, teriyaki chicken, a crazy roll and a spicy tuna roll. Everything was solid. Nothing will change your life, but you'll certainly have a good experience, good food, fair prices. This is far from where we live, but if in the area we'd absolutely come again.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating, the pick up time for my order was punctual. My order was really big so they gave us a box to help carry it all. My cat loved the box. The food, Was fucking amazing. Gyoza, crab rangoon, miso soup. Chicken katsu with rice. Whoever made that ponzu deserves a fucking medal. This place is a staple of mine now. No matter how far i move i will always come here. The sushi fresh. I have no complaints. As i type this i want to order more.

Decided to try this place for the first time last night and it did not disappoint! Our appetizers and sushi were amazing, and the staff were kind and patient. There were so many rolls that sounded yummy that it made it hard to choose. We got the gyoza and edamame to start, the edamame was perfectly salted and the gyoza were soft with crispy sides. For sushi, we got yellowtail and smoked salmon nigiri, the crazy roll, rainbow roll, negihama roll, golden phoenix roll and pacific roll. The rolls were big, delicious and fresh! Everything was so delicious and we will definitely be coming back!

Their hospitality & music is on point! The ramen was delicious & filling I didn't have any room for my sushi. My daughter was on spring break from college & we always enjoyed coming here. The Thai tea I think that's what it was called was really good too!

Grand Canyon (8) and Crimson Sky (8)

Visited on New Year's Day for lunch on way back home. Everything was really good. I had the Grand Canyon and Crimson Sky rolls. Both were really good but the Crimson Sky was my favorite. Husband had chicken katsu (dinner portion) and said it was really tasty and fried perfectly. Breading stayed on unlike some and was served with real katsu sauce. Was a good portion and he ate it all. Our kids had chicken fried rice, salmon roll and tuna roll. All delicious. We also had the spring rolls which were yummy and surprisingly big. Happy to find this gem on our travels.

I've been wanting to check this place out for years! They always rank on Yelps top places to eat and they have great reviews! I ordered a few sushi rolls and crab wontons for pick up. Inside is super tiny, but they were pretty full. The staff was very friendly when I went in to pick up my order and they even had a Yell trophy on the register. How cool! My sushi was good, but not the best I've ever had. I think I may have enjoyed it more if I ate there instead of to go. I did eat it immediately and there was no issue with anything not being hot or whatever. It just seemed to be missing a little something. However, it was still good and I'd go back for sure!

So good. I've lived in this area for almost 4 years now and this is my first time checking out Blue Orchid. I've had it on my saved list but it's kind of hidden, so I always forget about it. Stopped in for lunch the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and the place was empty. It's a small dine in area but it's clean and well decorated. We were greeted and sat immediately. Everyone welcomed us in. I ordered the chicken lo mein (lunch special) and my partner the chicken ramen. Both meals were excellent. Very flavorful and served piping hot. Sometimes ramen is too salty for me but this broth was delicious. We noticed that take out is popular here. Many people coming in to pick up to go orders. There are many other menu items I would love to try here like the Sushi, crab Rangoon, different noddle dishes etc. and I will definitely be back.

First time visit. I was very impressed. They have very creative sushi rolls and a large variety to choose from. The portion size is large- one specialty roll was enough for me! Everything we ordered was good! Gyoza, Shumai, Tempura. And the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They even brought a birthday dessert for my mother who was celebrating her 96th birthday. Next time I am in Charlotte we will definitely return!

Spicy tuna rolls were good. Dragon eel roll and caterpillar roll had a fun presentation to it. Did not like the crab Rangoon.

The restaurant is stylish, modern, and surprisingly chic , with a great location that makes it easy to add to an evening out. As first-time guests, we especially appreciated our server, who patiently walked us through the process and made sure there were no surprises. The explanation about the charge for uneaten all-you-can-eat sushi that guests want to take home was particularly helpful. Knowing the rules upfront makes all the difference and sets the right expectations from the start. The food was excellent. We worked our way through several rolls , sampled dumplings , and didn't find a miss among them. My Lycheetini was delicious, and after tasting a couple of sakes , I ended up buying a bottle to take home. Zero regrets there. Parking requires a little planning, with a paid lot nearby unless you're fortunate enough to snag a street spot right in front. Overall, I'd happily return and enjoy the entire experience all over again.

So his choice was here. Google directions suck they took us around the back to the parking garage for the 2nd level and since we have never been here before it took us a few minutes to figure out how to get down to the first level. When we entered there was a waiter taking an order and no one else on the floor so we had a little bit to get seated even though there were only two other parties in the restaurant. We were able to sit wherever we wanted so I sat with a view of the screen with the replay of the Brazil FIFA game on. My husband wanted the unagi don but didn't order because the price seemed high. The table next to us all ordered bowls and the serving size was huge so my husband regretted it. We order takoyaki, spicy wings, and 3 rolls Godzilla, Hadouken, and Master Roshi. The wings had amazing flavor but were not spicy. Takoyaki was flavorful and the perfect temperature. I get a lot of takoyaki that is entirely too hot and have to crack them open to cool before eating them. My husband did not enjoy the Godzilla roll he said the topping was too much and didn't add to the flavor. But enjoyed the other two. I enjoyed all three rolls the flavor was fresh and very little need for soy sauce fine without it. If we are ever in Charlotte with time to eat I would stop here again.

The cucumber salad was nicely, chilled on refreshing the takoyaki delicious the temper was good, had a cocktail it was fine, except very small considering what it cost. . The servers were efficient, friendly, and conscientious. The only thing was the restroom. There were a couple of signs in there that I did not consider appropriate for restaurant of the caliber in any case bye . We'll have to try again another time to see if that makes the reaction not bad but not great either.

Great location in south end near the light rail. We had a reservation for 6:30 and were seated promptly. The restaurant is gorgeous! I was in amazement walking to my seat. The host was about to sit us at a table, but we requested a booth and were accommodated. Our server was very nice and thoroughly explained the menu. We started off with the empanadas and I ordered my first virgin "pinny yolada" :). The empanadas were mind blowing! They were nice and hot, flavorful, and absolutely a delight! We were so impressed, we decided to order the double fried wings afterwards. The wings were good and had an interested flavor with the tamarind. After the wonderful appetizers, it was time for the entrees. I ordered the short rib yuca gnocchi and my friend the arroz con pollo. On paper the gnocchi sounded sublime, but in actuality it was lacking a lot. The entire dish lacked so much flavor, even with hot sauce, additional salt, and lime it tasted bland. I was very disappointed. The empanadas and service were a saving grace, I ordered two orders of empanadas to go for my family. However they were so expensive. I paid $14 for 3. Even though I loved the empanadas, I probably would not be back.

Another thoughtful detail that made the evening feel special. Since we arrived early, the atmosphere was quiet, intimate, and honestly very romantic. We could actually hear each other talk without raising our voices. The lighting was perfectly dim--creating a cozy ambiance without making it difficult to see the menu. The service was equally enjoyable. Our waiter and waitress were attentive, friendly, and never overbearing, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. As for the food, it was every bit as good as I remembered. The quality hasn't changed at all--fresh, beautifully prepared sushi with consistently excellent flavors. We'd never tried Omakase before, but we've had other curated dining experiences. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. Within the first 20 minutes, our first dish arrived and it was excellent...But then...nothing. We waited, and waited, and waited. An entire hour passed before the next dish appeared. I pulled the waitress aside to check on the delay, she explained they had a sudden influx of customers but she'd ask the kitchen to move a little quicker. The food did start coming out after that, and the managers came over to address the delay, which I appreciated, but the damage was done. I wanted a memorable birthday experience for my daughter, and unfortunately it ended up being a bit of a disappointment considering the time and cost. The food itself was delicious, but poor pacing and lack of attention to the customer overshadowed the entire experience. I didn't ask for compensation but the managers took it upon themselves to comp my wine flight. I hope this was a one off experience but I can't say that I'll return to this restaurant.

Between the awful attitude from the owner and the unsanitary conditions, I would never recommend anyone eat here.
