Way to expensive not sure if the food is free and just paying for the fancy atmosphere and fancy plates 2 small meals came out to 60 bucks

Kabuki used to be my favorite escape in Wakefield, RI. In a middle of a hot summer you could always find a seat in a quite air conditioned room with asion fusion offerings. On good friday I went there with my girlfriend and was slightly disappointed with their renovations and new menu. I still liked rocky crabs and dragon roll. read more

Kabuki was a weekly treat for myself and a couple of my friends. The late night menu is a great deal! I love the bento box, very yummy!! Thursday nights are karaoke night and it is never too packed and everyone is very friendly. It's a great place to go out if you want to have a great time, but don't want to deal with swarms of drunks. The wait staff is amazing and after going there for awhile, they really got to know us. Service was terrible.. shouldn't it be customer's first? As I recall, the place wasn't even busy at the moment. If we say the food is not good, we mean it and they should redo the order. Instead they just brought back to same dish. Totally unacceptable and unbelievable. The manager who handled this situation should take customer-service101. A few friends and I decided to get some sushi really quickly before a night out. We were seated promptly and a girl came over, quickly muttered hi, gave us water and then left for about 15 minutes. We thought maybe she was just a busser giving us waters so we shrugged it off but she then came over and just asked what we wanted to eat. No introduction, no question if we wanted a different drink, we didn't even know her name. My friend had a question about the menu and all she had to say was "I don't know" and she literally ripped the menu from a friends hand. Once our order was finally taken, items that we never ordered were brought to our table while we just watched our sushi sit for 10+ minutes at the bar. The only reason we got our food was because a bus boy saw it and rushed it over. Our waitress never asked us how our food was, never offered to refill the waters (or if we even wanted a different drink), and did not ask if we were ready for our check, just brought it and assumed we were done. My friend's rice never came out so she asked about it and the waitress rudely replied with "umm ok, it'll be out at some point". Other guests with her as a waitress were voicing their frustrations with her that night too. It was not too busy at all. We were really upset because the food was great but worst service I have ever seen. I never review but I couldn't ignore this. read more

We went to this place at around 10:30th on a Thursday. It was pretty packed with college students. It seems that the bartender has one mode: rude. And also incompetent. Cashed us out without asking, rudely demanded id's (no one in our party was younger than 32). Our glasses were not just warm, but HOT. Hot glasses of beer. Yum. read more

Service so bad they have to 18% to a table of 3! Empty restaurant but we waited 5+ minutes before anyone addressed the table. Entrees brought out at different times! Land and sea- lobster was overcooked and bland. When the waiter FINALLY came to check on our dinner, we told him about the lobsters (2 people ordered land sea- both had gross lobster). He then got a manager who said to us "How can it be bad?" Rude! Their solution to two bad $34 dinners? ONE dessert on the house! The first dinner, served 5 minutes before the next two, was microwave super hot. The next two dinners were barely warm. Charged for an apple juice but they didnt have any. They were also out of raspberry ice tea. Also when I ordered the steak I asked if they needed temp(rare, med rare etc) but waiter said it wasn't an option. Booth seats are ripped and there is dust on the lights. Very disappointing because this was a good restaurant when it first opened. read more

Kabuki is one of my ALL TIME favorite places to go! The food is AMAZING! I crave the Wakefield roll on a regular basis. Rocky shrimp is to die for!!! The garlic noodles.....omg! I could go on forever! Hands down my favorite sushi joint and I loooooove sushi! Their bartenders are amazing too! Always so friendly, they remember your names and drinks. This is my favorite spot to go grab some sushi and drinks. I've eaten a variety of food here and everything I've tried has been delicious! Definitely way above average in terms of having consistently good food. The staff is very professional but also very fun! I always sit at the bar and I find the bartenders are always enthusiastic about their jobs. They know their drinks but also know the food menu very well. They also tend to make suggestions that are relevant to the customer. read more

great food. service is good and hilarious. ask for frank! sushi is very fresh. presentation is occasionally over the top. for example i got a sashimi dish which came in a plastic bowl filled with shaved ice with a color changing led light in the bottom and a bunch of "decorative" branches sticking out all over the place. not the most traditional sushi. almost everything has a sauce. i'm more of a fan of the simple stuff, however specialty rolls are bougie AND delicious. i highly recommend it. read more

I only go for the lunch or late night specials. The sushi is pretty good but everything on their menu is very expensive. I love getting their rocky shrimp and special rolls (like tuna amazing, green peace). My favorite thing on the menu is the tempura banana with ice cream. The decor and atmosphere is beautiful. The service is hit or miss. I feel that this restaurant has gone downhill in the last few years. read more

Ive been to Kabuki twice, both times the sushi was great but the second time the service was horrible. Our waitress did not introduce herself, barely talked to us, our food waited for 15 minutes at the sushi bar. she was very rude and unenjoyable. Im very upset with the service and I think my card was charged incorrectly because we did not leave a tip. I think the waitress took it upon herself to add the tip in. I have never left a server tipless, but tips are earned and this waitress did absolutely nothing to earn it. I will never return read more

I come here a lot. I would consider myself slightly a regular by coming here for the last 4 years at least once a month. The sushi is okay and same goes for the other food on the menu. Not the most amazing but the best sushi in the area by far. I recently had a very bad experience with one of the servers. She was dull, rude, seemed very high and bored and tired. When serving you should have a smile on your face and an attitude like you want to be there. After that experience I now sit at the bar so I don't get her as my server ever again. The bartenders aren't especially friendly either and certainly won't ask if you want another drink or side plates and silverware. One is attentive the other one just looks pissed to be there. Again, I still go to kabuki as it is the best Japanese cuisine in the area. However, I will be doing take out more often from here on out. The building itself is a bit off putting, but don't let that turn you off to trying it. The decor inside is nice, comfortable seating, low lighting. The sushi is fantastic and I've eaten at many Japanese restaurants. Try the fried oyster appetizer. Only three oysters, but possibly the best I've ever had. The sushi is artistically presented and fabulous. The prices are a bit high, but I would say worth it. Try it for lunch for a lower price range. One of the worst restaurants I've been to. Was excited to have some sushi but it tasted horrible. Ordered the spicy tuna roll - didn't even taste like spicy tuna. Also ordered the udon noodles with chicken. The only good part about it were the veggies. Won't be coming back here. read more

My favorite place when craving sushi. I will only eat there for their lunch specials though. Crab rangoons are delicious also, you get six and they are small but that is bearable. If you haven't tried their fried CHEESECAKE.. you have to. It is too die for. The place always seems clean! And the servers are great. read more

I've been to this place 4 to 5 times and they always seem to please my appetite... Well accept for this one time I ordered the Kobe beef where u grill it on the stone ... It is a very nice Hibachi and sushi restaurant. The food is really good, has a very nice atmosphere and presentation. The prices are reasonable and not to bad. They are fairly low prices for a more upscaled Hibachi restaurant. What really brings this place down is the service. They are always slow in preparing and serving your food whether it is a slow or busy night it does not matter. Not only that but the employees can be on the rude side and are not always to welcoming. These guys started out strong but have reduced the size and quality of their meals and apps slowly over the last few years. They also have no idea about customer service (I'm excluding the bartenders, however, they're pretty good). I've been getting luches to go out of there nearly every week for the last year or more, and more and more often, they forget something crucial in the order. Spoon, soy sauce, even the soup. I've gotten to the point where I open my to-go bag right there, and check for the complete lunch. I shouldn't have to do this. If I don't check, to go back and fetch these items, I'd basically use up my entire lunch break. When I've complained, they're "sorry" but offer nothing for my troubles. I've explained that I'm a repeat customer, asked for a couple of bucks off my next order, an upgrade on my next order, something. Nope. Dragon Palace, here I come! read more

the sushi rolls are bland and the ingredients taste old and frostbitten. "rocky" shrimp are not real rock shrimp and the tempura batter is thick and slimy. plus they use imitation crab meat (although it doesn't say imitation on the menu). do not recommend! read more

This restaurant is an incredible addition to the area. I love sushi and I have not been happy with the lack of quality japanese restaurants in the area for the last few years since I've been addicted to this kind of food. The fish is fresh, beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is nice as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife and I are sushi enthusiasts and have eaten at sushi restaurants all over the country. On our trip through Wakefield we asked several locals where the best sushi could be found and were told to try Kabuki. We ordered two of their signature rolls including their namesake roll, a couple of standards (spicy tuna, philly and salmon) and the Kani salad. The Kani salad was decent though a bit spicier than normal, the crab tasted fresh and firm. When the rolls arrived, we were hungry and looked forward to the best of Wakefield. I dove into the spicy tuna while my wife tried the Wakefield roll. The sticky rice was anything but sticky.. the roll began to fall apart before I could get my chopsticks around it. As I took my first bite, the dominant impression I had was that the tuna was stale. I took another piece and examined it carefully, the tuna appeared to be some type of mash rather than shredded or sliced. I've had similar types of tuna in rolls before, but this was more like paste than tuna. We switched and my wife's opinion was even worse than mine. The Wakefield roll was okay but seemed to be swimming in tempura and I swear they forgot the salmon. The philly roll was just as bad as the tuna roll, the best part of it was the cream cheese... which isn't saying much. I finally tried the Tuna Amazing roll but it was anything but amazing. It tasted stale and had a metallic aftertaste which pretty much closed the door on Kabuki for me. The waitress was wonderful however and we tipped her generously for her services. In a nutshell, if you are going for sushi... think again. Or maybe have a little Saki before dinner to take the edge off. -Ice read more

worst asian cuisine i have ever had. ordered general tso's and it tasted like a bowl of butter was added, sushi was horrible as well. coconut shrimp was dry, soy sauce was horrendous. DEFINITELY would NOT recommend this place... deserves negative stars read more
