$13.00 for this? Seriously? First and last time coming here. Wow. 5 TINY pieces of meat, half a tomato, some lettuce, and 3/4 of a container of rice. read more

Kabab King - Afghan Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

This restaurant is the best option for Middle Eastern cuisine in Laveen and the surrounding areas. All the Kabab combinations are great, hummus is A+, and I have yet to find a place with better pita bread. I make it a point to get extra when I place my order. All the staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. The only complaint I have is that I wish they were open 30 minutes to one hour later, as some days it is too late for me to order food from there. read more

I came here after reading reviews. It did not disappoint I ordered the chicken Kabab plate. It had so much flavor, the rice was perfect and a good side salad to go with it. Portions are a good size too. read more

We've been getting take-out from Kabab king for a few years now and have always enjoyed the food. But tonight's take-out was especially on point! Flavors were delicious and fresh. Our go-tos that please every time are the Kabab Combo (sometimes with an extra order of kofta-our kids favorite) and the samosas (we love their chutney!) We definitely love this restaurant and so glad that it is part of Laveen. read more

So I decided to try this place out. The business advertised open til 8pm. I arrived at 7:38pm. All the lights are on even there is ppl in there as well eating and waiting on there food. No one is in line I walk to the register and the lady say do you have an online order I responded no. Then she proceed to say we're closed. I respond with you sign says open til 8pm and your website. Also your sign on your door says your open. Very confused. I will not be returning. read more

Some of the best falafel I have eaten in a super long time. Need them to move further east as the are in the avenues

BEST MEDITERRANEAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!! This has become our Friday night spot. The staff is so kind, always accommodating to special requests, the tandoori chicken is FIRE, and the dolmas ARE worth writing home about!! read more

Healthy alternative to south side, the food is fresh the rice is amazing. The service is outstanding. Omg the chicken tandoori off the hook good. read more

So glad we finally tried this place! We ordered online (super easy) and the food was awesome. We tried the kebab combo to sample a few different meats and went all out with some sides (samosas, falafel, babaganoush). All of it was extremely flavorful & cooked perfectly. My favorite of the night was the tandoori chicken (My husband was all about the samosas and gyro). Surprisingly, the hummus was my least favorite, but all was good. I recommend ordering extra pita/naan. Definitely adding Kebab King to our restaurant rotation. read more

I love kabab king so much. From the tandoori chicken wrap to the samosas, everything is always fresh and tastes good. The owners are friendly and the food is always ready as promised. read more

Ordered 2 gyros and an order of spring rolls but they messed up and gave me 2 plates of food instead. The 4 stars is because the food was good but they obviously messed up my order. read more

Absolutely amazing food and really friendly staff. They even hooked us up with free rose water. I recommend the falafel, it's super crunchy yet moist and very flavorful. read more

Not my favorite gyro. The tzatziki sauce was strange - too tart. The wrap is 7$ or the gyro plate is 10$ and comes with rice and salad. Good size portion and good pita. The samosas (5/5$) were good; they are fried little pastries with pork inside and served with a green herb sauce. Clean interior, friendly service. read more

There's a really long comment somewhere on here. I mistakenly typed my review in the comment section, not sure how. But .... you're read the really good things in the comment section, here I'll give you the cons. The food is served fresh and pippin hot. However, it does not travel well nor does it reheat well. I'd go so far to say if you're unable go sit down and eat it there then don't order it. We had about a 30 minute drive to get home. I couldn't wait. I ate the side Greek salad in the car and 2 falafels. I didn't have much green lettuce in my bowl, mainly white, they probably could have throw this part of the lettuce away. It wasn't spoiled or anything just the very, very end of the head of lettuce. I took one big bite of the tandoori chicken wrap for good measures before we got home. It was good ... it great, lite on the flavor, heavy in the grill taste. By the time we got home the wrap was ruined, the bread was sooooo soggy. I ended up eating it with a fork like an open faced sandwich. I noticed sliced pickles on the wrap. I'm a fan of pickles, huge fan even, just wasn't expecting them on the wrap. They made it so dern soggy! I'd definitely try Kabab King again by next time I'm sticking with an original gyro and I'm eating in there. read more

Friendly staff, never seen this place really busy so I'll usually go here if I'm looking for a quick meal. Got the gyro salad, and naan bread. All the ingredients fresh and tasted delicious. read more

Always fresh, hot and ready to go. Get the tandoori wrap, gyro wrap, and the falafel! Dont forget the butter chicken!

The food was really disappointing. The cashier was super rude too, and acted like I was inconveniencing her the entire time. Their falafels looked and tasted different then all of the other falafels I've had at other places, and to top it off they smelled really bad from the fryer oil. Like, reamed from the unopened box. I asked her for extra olives because I love the juicy, salty kalamata olives with the seed that I've always been served at any Greek restaurant I've visited, and they put extra sliced black olives.... You know, the ones that come in a can? My stomach was upset all night. Needless to say, no kabob King for me. read more

poop i don't like this the service was terrible and i had to ask the waiters to get my order they didn't acknowledge me

This place is so yummy and fresh!! A really nice little spot in Laveen, I've eaten here a couple times and would definitely recommend it!

Excellent Kababs! Love the combo and the staff have been personal & friendly. I was hesitant but great word of mouth led to this gem. Can't recommend enough. read more

Awesome food and great customer service! I work in laveen twice a week and I make sure to stop there at least once a week!

First time visiting Kabab King and I have to say it is a bit underwhelming. For a place to call itself king of anything, I would assume it would offer the best food in town. However, the food here was okay at best. The fries were good, the gyro was lacking in flavor, and the gyro salad was mediocre. The staff was friendly, but the wait was long even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Staff also set the fries to the side while the rest of the food cooked. Personally, I think they should've served them fresh instead of allowing them to get cold. read more

Me and the lady stopped in here for to go lunch today. We both got the beef gyros with a side of basmati rice. This is hands-down one of the best gyros I have had. Everything was on point from flavor, texture and freshness. the taziki sauce was fantastically vibrant with flavor. The pita bread with the softest I have ever had. The rice was cooked perfect not oily at all and was seasoned very well. We will be absolutely be returning to explore the other options on the menu. Also btw a few days of the week they offer a buffet for a great price. The owner mentioned it is a good opportunity to explore most of the menu for sorts timers read more

I had the Tandoori plate. Can hardly go wrong with chicken. It was very tasty. I wished it had a little bit of hummus and a little more bread. I spoke with the manager and he said he was still working on the arrangement of the plates to minimize waste. He said he would put a little bread and I think also some hummus at no extra charge. I'm going to take him up on that the next time. The price was reasonable. Definitely cheaper and more affordable than other places I've eaten in the valley. The usual places I eat range from $15-$20 a person. They are between $12-15 with a can drink. Definitely will visit them again a 3rd time. read more

Great local business operated by a genuinely nice individual and neighbor! Food is fantastic, and we tend to make ourselves regulars for it. Decor is great, and it's a peaceful atmosphere. Sunday buffets are a must, and a great way to experience the range of their food. I would definitely recommend them! read more

Love this place. It's close by and the food is consistently good. They remodeled the interior and it is a drastic improvement. Even a picky American like me can find tons of great things to eat here. read more

Unlike Paul R.'s unnecessary comments and ignorance (maybe he really went to the Mediterranean areas and Afghanistan), I do not review a restaurant based on a rude attitude towards those who didn't appreciate his new favorite place. Overpriced food, slow service (this one is fine IF the food is good!), flavorless food: I won't be back. I don't really understand the good reviews, obviously people have never tasted authentic Mediterranean or Afghan foods to compare... read more

Not many places near here to get this type of food so, very fortunate that it's delicious and the people are friendly. Gyros and falafel are great. Can't wait to try the buffet. read more

This is our favorite local place! The family who owns it is always there working and are very friendly. The food is delicious. It's very fresh as they make everything that day. We've tried the gyro and the combo platter and the beef and the chicken are all very delicious and flavorful. The way they season their rice is also scrumptious. They also offer smoothies and a delicious dessert baklava. read more

If you are craving Mediterranean cuisine- this is the spot to hit! Their Kabab combo is what I would start with if you're not too daring to try new things. The Tandoori is just the right spicyness throughout the nuggets of grilled white chicken breast. The beef Kabab is tender and full of flavor from sea salt, pepper and a hint of charbroil from grilling. I always ask for extra tazikki sauce (Yogurt, cucumber and saffron). All this on top of basmati rice with a side of Greek salad and flat bread. I love that they add a whole charbroiled Roma tomato to mix into the rice for additional flavor. They have chicken curry and lamb shank as well not to mention Gyros- all very satisfying to fulfill your taste for Mediterranean food! read more

Simple menu done very well and reasonable prices. My wife and I really enjoyed the food. The babaganoush is excellent and so is the beef curry. Nice to finally visit and we will be back. read more

When you walk in the place is still under construction. You order at the entrance by this kid (who is actually really cute and smart). The food took really long to come out. We waited almost an hour. Then when it came out there was no cutlery to eat the food... They served the food in a to go box, even though we were dining in... Umm...The koobideh was pretty good, rice could do a bit more saffron. Needs a lot of work with the service. But hopefully in the future it will improve. It's no Persian Room that's for sure. read more

My sister received a flyer for this place at work and we decided to give it a try. We were not completely convinced at first, but happy we gave it a try! I ordered the combo plate and my sister ordered the chicken kabob plate. The beef was so tender and waaaaayyy tastier than other places (Persian room) the amount of food was ample and enough to share if need be. My sister loved her chicken plate. The chicken was just as flavorful. The owner was very nice and was happy to explain the menu and chat with us. We will def be giving them another try and adding them to our list of go to restaurants! Give it a try if your up to something new. read more

Kabab King - Combo plate - Afghan Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

I really enjoyed this place. The owner is very friendly and since there weren't a lot of other customers in the restaurant when we were there (Thursday night) we had a little chat with him. I had the Gyro and my wife had the Tandori Chicken. We also got the three piece Samosa and a plate of five falafel balls. My favorite was the falafel balls, which were just wonderful. I've never eaten falafel that tasted so fresh (and I've eaten falafel straight off the street carts of Jerusalem). The Samosa's were also great, very tasty little triangles of pastry with chicken meat inside. My wife's tandori chicken tasted like it had been cooked right over a campfire. It was like you could close your eyes and pretend you were in the mountains of Afghanistan eating it. She at every single piece, and that is something she usually doesn't do. I think the weakest part of the meal was my Gyro. It wasn't bad, but it was fairly bland. Not much sauce and not a ton of taste. But it was only $6 and came with french fries so you can't complain too much. They have a meat dish that I will try when I go back. They also have a buffet on Sunday afternoons for $14 that is all you can eat of every different thing they make. This is a simple restaurant. They don't have a large menu at all, I think about ten items. This means it very easy to decide what you want and the food comes really quickly. I would recommend this place even if I didn't like it simply with the hope that we will get more novelty restaurants on this side of town (I love Mexican food, but it's nice to have a choice for something else, you know). If you, like me, have seen the sign for "Kebab King" as you drive down Baseline then I suggest you give it a try one of these days. It's worth the very modest prices. Total cost for my wife and I (including 15% tip) was $28 and we got two entrees and two appetizers. I think he might want to consider raising his prices a bit, I wouldn't want to see him go out of business because he didn't charge enough. Thanks for the great meal! read more

The food here is phenomenal!! Everything I've tried so far (chicken sandwich, chicken tandoori, chicken tenders, Bolani, hummus, buffet items, etc) has been absolutely delicious! It's flavorful, fresh, and I can't wait to eat everything on the menu. And the owner is very nice... It's so good to have this restaurant here!! In addition to the foods above, the restaurant just added a burger to their menu. The burger is so tasty as well! The quality of their food is truly wonderful... I'd eat here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could! read more

First came here a couple of weeks ago, we came in and ordered tandoori chicken and chicken kabab. We waited 30-45 min for our food on a Friday afternoon. The food was flavorful, filling and overall good. My family came back the next day, and we've been going back every weekend since. read more

I really like Mediterranean food and this is the closest place to us for gyros and such. We used to get tikki masala from a place off of 51st ave, but they closed so we tried kabob king. The gyros are always good. We also tried the falafel. It was a little dry for my liking. The fries are always fresh and hot, and the salad is fresh. They serve it with a delicious balsamic style dressing. Also tried the tandoori chicken. It was not as flavorful as i expected, and chicken was a little dry. The rice they serve it with is tasty though. I really like tzaziki sauce, but I wish this one was more flavorful like i have had at other places. Not quite sure what is different about theirs. Besides that, the food is always good. We have ordered from here several times. It's worth a try. read more

Started off with Hummus with Pita bread and Sambosa both delicious and authentic tasting. No pics only because we devoured it before I thought about taking any. Unfortunately, the rest of our meal didn't live up to the great start. Our meal came out almost cold and the Kabab Koobideh had a smoky but tangy flavor (not sure if that's how it was supposed to taste) that was not pleasant. Although, the chicken kabab and chicken tandoori were good, despite the food temperature. read more
