I have been here before. I have reviewed this business positively before. But I just need to review them again. I have been so impressed with the consistent quality of their services. This is a family run business and on my last visit I was greeted by the owners, a husband and wife team like an old Friend. I had a much needed pedicure after a summer of abusing my feet in the garden . My pedicure began with Emily who is always bubbly and happy. The Salon started to get busy and her nephew took over. He was very pleasant and we had a great conversation. He did an amazing leg rub. Emily came back for a bit but that afternoon the Salon was hopping !! her husband finished off my pedicure with the paraffin treatment, hot stones and another leg massage!. He and I had a great conversation about being small business owners. This is truly a family run business. I understand a niece works here also. Went here for the first time and am absolutely blown away at what amazing service they provided!! I got builder gel and they are the first place to actually fully remove the old builder and make sure my nails beds were fully prepped!! My nails felt very clean and taken care of. The kids got 2 mani pedi with gel and the youngest a massage and clear polish on his toes , they even put on sponge bob for them!! They were extremely patient with the youngest as he moved around A LOT in the chair... This is highly unacceptable. This is the 2nd time my girl went here! The first time they had some new guy doing her nails who didn't know what he was doing since it was his first day, and they left him unsupervised despite it being slow with nobody in there. Now she got them redone and this time they look good and they broke off entirely with her nail attached again causing her once again to bleed heavily and lose most of her nail. I decided to come here since it's close to home and had relatively decent reviews. They were able to see me quickly but the service was also VERY quick. I felt like I was at the doctor's office. In and out, very rushed. It's also not the cheapest gel nails in the area...Color isn't completely around the nail. The polish is chipping and cracking. Please read :( This place is under new management. Walking in everyone was very polite and very considerate of my time. If the nephew is reading this you were amazing greeting me and I thank you. But I will say the nail tech ( Emily ) was not the best. She states she's been a nail tech for 10 years, but it doesn't seem that way?? I tried to be patient with her. The service I requested was gel X nails. I've been to a couple of nail salons and can very much tell if the person doing my nails is experienced. Every step was just absolutely wrong. I kept explaining I was not happy with the nail shape and she kept giggling insisting there was nothing wrong with them. (In this picture I ended up fixing the nail shape myself at home with a file) During my appointment it started to get busy with costumers coming in and it looked like she was rushing to finish and ended up with my nails being messy! Also you can tell the glue underneath was not placed on right at all. Such a horrible job. She was a sweet lady but I will never be coming here again. read more

As soon as I go in she has me sit and put my feet in there pedicure water. I asked to see the options of the services they provide FIRST. She then said "take a seat we show you after" ... umm excuse me? Wouldn't you like that see the price and different services they offer before they touch your feet and hands? So then she finally gave me the folder. I picked my nails and toes services, when I sat down she started asking me where I go to get my eyelashes done and how much I pay for them, I thought she was trying to be friendly, but then she brings up where I work and how much I make, I obviously didn't give her any of my information, but she then gets really weird and in the middle of my nails she brings up the prices for my nails and toes. She brought up the prices for both . I thought this was a joke . She was dead serious. I said "why you mentioned it was this price and now raising the prices" she stuttered and said "you want long nails" I said "NO . I want just a regular set of acrylic" that this point she was mad and start being rough, MY BABYSHOWER NAILS LOOKED DISGUSTING, THICK, & ROUGH She burned me with the nail file because she rushed . 6 days after having my nails done by Phillip. Massive fungal infection. I'm in so much pain!! This is the 3rd time I've gotten my nails done here & each time, the workers are rude and unprofessional. I showed Phillip a picture of how I wanted my nails to look, and he did them how he wanted to instead. I walked in for a pedicure. The manicurist was on the phone most of the service. I believe there is a lack of customer service. The manicurist put very hot water in the bowl. It hurt the moment I dipped my feet. The manicurist also didn't ask how short I wanted my toe nails. She cut my toes and after I heard the clipping noise and saw how short they were, I was disappointed. Now I'm worried I'll get ingrown nails. I was cut while the cuticle was being removed. The manicurist wanted to use a foot grater which is illegal to use in the state of California . I denied it just in time. The manicurist towards the end of my service after applying gel polish got a phone call and walked away making me feel like the service was over, only to sit me back down for hot towels. The massage was horrible too. It was just a oil rub on my legs and no massage. This business has gone down hill over the past few years. read more

I'll start off by saying that this place does not disappoint! I came in knowing exactly what I wanted and the nail technician, Nana, was able to do exactly that! All I did was show her the picture and BAM!! Perfection! I actually told her that I wanted gel but she suggested that I get colored powder instead for what I was asking for and I must say that it was a really good suggestion considering I hate agreeing with what nail technicians suggest. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because I made an appointment at 5:30, but I still had to wait around 25-30 minutes before they took me. I understand that they were busy and still working on other people's nails, but I wish I didn't have to wait. Not only was the girl that took me rude but I could tell that she was talking about me when I asked her to file my acrylics a little more . They are so thick ' it's gross my fingers look so heavy it's even hard to type on my phone . They charged me 75 dollars for a mediocre job . She left them so sharp too ! I'm so upset ! UPDATE: I went in the following day to get them fixed and the guy told me that they looked fine to him ! That it was medium thickness for a more natural look . Since when does a natural look mean it looks like there is a lump coming out of my nails ? He also said that he wasn't gonna redo the design I paid $25 bucks for or give me said money back . I'm not sure if this place is Star Nail's anymore? They had a different name on the front of the salon. I had originally went to another place in Vista and they told me I'd need a brand new set and quoted me 70$. I walked out because I knew I didn't need a new full set to get what I wanted. I came to this place right after, called ahead and said they could take me right away. This was a Friday around 4-5pm. The lady, I believe her name to be Hannah told me that we wouldn't need a new set, picked out two powders that would be similar to what I wanted and could cover what the old color was. She tested both out for me on a paper towel and was soooo accommodating. I wanted something super neutral and simple, but not bubble bath(I know that's so popular but too pink for my liking) She was super sweet and I was there about an hour and my fill was 45$!!! I'm usually happy with the work done here , but my last 2 visits were very disappointing . One of the visits was on Valentine's Day , I got a basic pedicure but was disappointed in the work. The lady painted my nails half way . My nails weren't fully painted . I understand it was very a busy day , but they still need to get the job done right . My second visit was Monday 5/3 and went in for a pedicure. The lady was super rough on my skin and feet. It HURT to get a pedicure and pedicures are suppose to relax you . She did not use care at all . They need to change their scrubs when it comes to scrubbing the feet. They are very rough on the skin. The lady was scrubbing my feet SO HARD that the scrub was falling apart . My feet were burning and hurting throughout the pedicure . After paying and leaving , I came to see that she made me BLEED and SCRATCHED all my feet up from scrubbing so hard !! I'm never getting a pedicure from here again.
