Kim was able to get me in, and I showed her my inspo pic. She did a great job - not copying the photo exactly but putting her own touches on my nails. I contacted Kim about doing an acrylic set with a bit of nail art. She told me she could not do nail art, which was strange because there's a few pictures here with nail art on them? She also said she was closed today and booked tomorrow, which is understandable but the service hours here say she's open today (Monday) so maybe she needs to update her store hours or be more honest with people looking to patron her salon. I also had a hard time understanding what she was asking because of her accent, so my other suggestion would be communicating through text if possible. My first acrylic set at Kim's came out beautifully. I went with an ombré glitter effect in pink. I had quite a bit of cuticle because I haven't tended to my nails since the pandemic started but Kim was kind enough to clean up my nails during the process. Called in at 5:35pm to asked if I could walk-in and Kim said to come on in even though she closed at 6:00pm. It's inside the Phoenix Salon Suites (not the nail salon a few businesses down) and it was my first time going to this salon, so she came out of her suite and down the hall to make sure I found her. It is very clean and relaxing inside - there are two massage chairs for pedis and one (or maybe two?) tables for full sets/manis, but she was the only one working. Kim really took her time to cut cuticles, file, and massage and went above and beyond what most places do, even when I was there after hours. When I went to leave, she tried putting on my sandal for me, but two toes got smudged in the process. She didn't make me feel bad about it and i didn't need to ask to have them fixed, she just took off the polish and repainted. At the end, I handed her a credit card for payment and she asked me for cash instead. I didn't have any cash on me and didn't see any signs or reviews that said cash only... she was hesitant, but took the card. She then told me it costs her money to run credit cards, but I had no way of knowing I needed cash instead. Overall great experience and appreciated Kim's attention to detail. My only suggestion to Kim would be to make sure customers know to bring cash versus card instead of waiting to tell people until the end. read more

I went to Kim , hoping to find a salon closer to home. I chose her because of her good YELP reviews. I was shocked that she didn't do gel powder. But since I was there I went ahead with it. Immediately AFTER, in my car I noticed that in the light the polish appeared splotchy. The next day, I had a chip. I called her & she fixed it . But the following day I had three more chips. I didn't even bother to waste my time going back again because she had told me my nails were chipped "because the nail beds had been damaged from powder gel." But the fact is, the polish had chipped, not the nail itself. I ended up wasting $45 for nothing! I would NEVER go here again! If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I've been coming to Kim's for about over a month now, on my first visit I had gel on my nails that had been done at another salon, it was quite thick but Kim took her time and gently removed it, I showed her a picture of hombre nails that I wanted, they came out amazing! So much better than the other salon I had gone to. My second visit she did pink gel and an adorable little red heart for Valentine's Day, I loved them! Most recently I just got white gel which I heard can be tricky to apply and doesn't always look good but mine came out amazing!! I'm so happy I found Kim, she is always very pleasant and kind. She takes her time and is meticulous about her work. It is definitely worth making an appointment, her place is inside the Sola Salon Studios, your not crowded waiting your turn, it's just you and her listening to tranquil music.
