Ok, so I loooooooove Korean food, and I have eaten at Korean restaurants around the country and This place is great!!! My husband wanted a bimbimbap hotpot and they were able to put a bulgolgi soup with extras! Sooo good. I like the fact that they have simplified the menu with exciting options as well as variations of favorite standards. Well worth the 30min drive for an easy evening. I've ordered from Doordash a couple of times from K-BOP and was surprised with the portioning. When I went to scope it out, I realized you can easily walk to the restaurant, if you're a Texas State student and still on campus. I was very excited to try it out in person, because I've heard nothing but great reviews when it came to this place. When you enter, the atmosphere is very cozy and dim lit. A very nice place, when you get to look around a lot! You order through kiosks and can pay via debit or credit. I believe it's different if you have cash, and would have to go to the front where there's a register. They'll bring the food right up to your table when your order is done. When I got my order I freaked out because it was a way bigger portioning size than I would get via Doordash. They have these cute bowls (in reality pots) to eat out of. My thinking is, they most likely cook the food in those pots, because the food was fresh and hot! When I've tried the Ramyun in the past, it wasn't as spicy. But in person, it's a whole other level. I broke a sweat trying to eat this thing, but it was so good, I couldn't stop eating! Keep in mind, if you order one meal, it will fill you up. Do not, and I repeat, do not order anymore food, unless you want some great and tasty leftovers for tomorrow. I definitely recommend the Ramyun, Tuna Kimbop, and the Beef Bulgogi Bowl. I've tried the honey, taro, and green tea milk teas and they're all amazing! I'd rather buy milk tea from this place than Teapioca even though I live right by Teapioca!!! I've had way better bulgogi but it's decent enough to still order. The rice was awesome, glass noodles were awesome, and the fried egg was perfect! Adding vegetables would definitely make this bowl better! The bowl portion was hefty, which I love. Place was clean and loved how you can see how the food is made. Ordered a honey milk tea and the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl. The tea was super sweet like melted sugar / syrup thick, sugar high with one sip sweet. I went home and was able to make 3 large tea drinks just from the original one from the restaurant. After I diluted the sugar milk tea it was very tasty! The teriyaki chicken was almost too sweet but that might have been just the sugar shock from my tea. I'm so sad to write this review. I've enjoyed coming here and the food was so authentic. I'm Korean but was never taught how to cook Korean food. So I was thrilled to find a good place. Unfortunately, the last two times I went, the meal I order (kimchi soup) wasn't the same. I went on a Saturday in September and the soup wasn't spicy and actually had a sour taste to it. I figured that maybe it was towards the end of the week and maybe the food was off. I went again this December while Christmas shopping and it was the same thing. I had heard of kimchi-jjigae before from a Facebook video (that I wish I could find again) so I went with that. Omg! So delicious I didn't stop til the bowls were clean (except to wash it down with some cold sake which made a perfect combination). Perfect amount of spice and tang! And get this! The stew has kimchi (obvs), tuna, sausage, spam, and noodles. I was kinda scared of how that combo of meats would taste, but I really wanted to try. So glad I did. I got a frozen matcha boba tea to qualify for free delivery, but it's definitely gonna have to wait til tomorrow. Anyway, based on the food I got, I highly recommend it! My sister and I discovered K-Bop during quarantine. We were tired of cooking but wanted to support local and try something new. We had never had Korean food but were excited to try it. We loved it. Okay, we love coming here!! Every time my boyfriend and I get the spicy chicken bowl. It's always so good and fresh. The egg is my favorite part. They also have boba and we usually get a mango or pineapple frozen. The rainbow jellies are good of course. For the food we've also tried the dumplings and teriyaki chicken.
