Visited here with friends for to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is nice and clean inside and we were seated immediately upon entry. The waiter was friendly, but it took forever to take our drink orders, and when we got them three people had to send theirs back because they did not tast right or wasn't mixed very well. After we ordered our food it took 45 minutes to arrive, and myself and another couple didn't actually get several of the items we ordered. I had the Fajitas DE Pollo Marinadas, the chicken was really really dry, and not much flavor. I had to mix it with the veggies in order to eat it, would have sent it back but it took long enough to get it in the first place. My wife had the Pechuga a la Plancha and her chicken was really dry also, she didn't even eat her meal. Overall we weren't too please. There will be no future visits. read more

Kbola is new and shiny. Authentic Cuban food. As good as you can find in Miami or Havana Ropa Viejo, Churassco and empanadas were great. Next time we'll try roasted pork in mojo marinade. Sanchez was an amazing sever! He offered great suggestions and went above and beyond. We're currently out of town and we're looking for a good place to eat dinner, and K'Bola did not disappoint. The food and drinks were great. Highly recommend. We ordered the Classic Mojito and an Margarona for drinks and the K'Bola Combo for our appetizer (everything was fried perfectly). For our entrees my husband ordered the Churrasco with black brands and plantains, and I got the Chilindron de Cordero (lamb shank) with sautéed veggies and tostones. Excellent food and excellent service. My server was very attentive and explained the menu. When you need service you press a button at your table and they come pretty quick. We had the ajiaco soup, lamb and churrasco and everything was perfectly cooked and flavorful. We also got to taste the mojito as it was half price during happy hour on a Sunday afternoon. I've visited the restaurant 4 times thus far. 1st time was superb - service and food. 2nd time was great as well. The last 2 visits were not good. The service was bad. Very bad. Waiter doesn't show up to check on the table. He took the order, delivered the meal, and returned when we were done to deliver the check. My meal was soaked in grease. I couldn't eat it. I have had the same entree twice before, so very aware that it was fried. The comment from the waiter was that it is all fried. Ok, I'm aware of that. I don't know if it didn't drain well or was left in the grease or what, but I could only eat 25% of it. The waiter never offered to get me something else, just said he would let them know. read more

I've been here a couple of times and the food, drinks, and service have always been great! It is my first time trying Cuban food and so I can't speak to authenticity or comparisons to other Cuban food I've had, but I think the food is really tasty and the portions for the entrees are quite large. If I had to recommend some things, I'd say get the empanadas and croquetas bc they are sooo delicious. I will say this isn't the best place for vegetarians and definitely not an option for vegans. read more

Our experience was not great: 1. When entering restroom deodorizer was the first thing I smelled. 2. Ac not working or just keeping it warm 3. Mojito glass had a long dark hair stuck to glass 4. ok full disclosure I am biased about how good this place is but I can be because I'm Cuban but as such I have a right to tell all y'all (yes, I'm a Virginian AND a Cubana -- my Papi was from Cuba, and I was born in Lynchburg hehe) this is not just so delicious, so truly like my cooking like my Tia's cooking, but is like you just landed in Miami and is legitimately making Cuban food - not fusion, not "nod to Cuban" oh yes, this is worthy of my Tia and primas Cuban food. And it's in Williamsburg for Pete's sake! Why oh why can't we get a legit Cuban place in Richmond and please do not even start. Here's what you'll see here: Vaca Frita, Picadillo, Lechon, Yuca with mojo, congri, tostones, maduros, ropa vieja... I could go on. If you know, you know. If you don't... you MUST go and see, taste, explore the flavors. Cuban food is onions, garlic, tomatoes aka a sofrito. (did I mention garlic?) often with citrus - a lot of citrus flavors. There are so many delightful flavors that come together in these comfort foods (which I should mention - it is not fancy - think of it as the equivalent of home cooking, Latino style). I'm just glad that after decades of searching bc I travel a lot for work, I stumbled onto this little gem because of a work trip and it paid off in spades. They had mojitos and other nice cocktails, and an outdoor space when the weather is more amenable (hotter than hades right now). If you are a food enthusiast and want to experience real, actual, Cuban food and can't make a trip to Miami I'm here to tell you that, outside the home cooks with Cuban roots, this is a place to do it. I am going to make this a place to come to intentionally and I do not care if it's an hour from where I live - it's worth it for a real experience. And oh by the way... Several of our dishes were great - the fried rice dish especially, my husband really enjoyed his steak (churrascura (sp?)), and my father in law really enjoyed his Cuban sandwich. Most of our drinks were good as well, although the mojito was not great. But our server really struggled to take our order, messing several things up, the drinks took almost 30 min to be made (we were almost the only customers in the restaurant), and I had the pork plate and it was INCREDIBLY dry. Not the case here. Lastly, service. This place needs more people. Of the five tables (from 2 persons to a party of seven), all service was performed by one very tired young man. While picking up the food, they had genuinely the NICEST staff (even nicer than Chick-Fil-A) and were fantastic people. I asked where we could eat around the area and if there was a public picnic table since we had a dog. She said, "uh we allow dogs in here and on the patio! Grab a seat outside!" So that's what we did! And Loki was able to hang with us so we didn't feel rushed at all. They even brought him out a water bowl! Pros: staff is friendly, atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and clean Cons: food took awhile and was inconsistent with delivery- a friend and I ordered appetizers at the same time and mine came a good 15 minutes prior to hers making it somewhat awkward experience. I have no issue waiting for food if it's busy, but it just wasn't that good. Black beans were watery and flavorless, the sauce with the empanadas was all wrong and they were too thin and oily. Chicken needed more seasoning. Sweet plantains and cuban coffee are solid. read more

4 "criollo food connoisseurs" wonder into this cuban place... hoping to find "The PLACE"... after being thoroughly disappointed in the Hampton Roads area. And this is it, as authentic as you can get it!!! Don't hesitate to come... you have arrived! Search no more. We had the Lechón, the vaca frita, yuca al mojo, churrasco, tostones....everything done to perfection. And to add to the "golpe" they had amazing empanadillas, flan, cortadito espresso, all of it is as we know it to be. Very rarely a restaurant can do all of these well. This place has done it.
