Let me tell you what, never judge a book by its cover. The look of the restaurant is not impressive but the service and the food is amazing. I had the steak saltado and it is easily one of the top 5 meals I've had here in Williamsburg, besides what my wife makes. I highly recommend trying it. I know I'll be back!

Super friendly service. Convenient parking and warm, colorful outdoor eating area. Whole chicken was a great deal! We enjoyed our impromptu dinner and will be back again whenever in the area!

This was an excellent surprise. My husband and I had never tried Peruvian food and we took a chance and we love this place. We love the three course lunch special for $22, we always have to ask for it. The food is so flavorful and the service is amazing!

Granted we visited the restaurant when they were NOT busy, early afternoon, but still we left with a great opinion of the food and the atmosphere of this restaurant. The Ceviche is too good, and the steak dishes use high-quality steak. The cocktails are well done, and while I may not get another drink with egg whites, the offerings were tasty and properly presented, You can't go wrong with this place.

This was Peruvian fish with calamari and shrimp.

The service is always wonderful. The flavors in the food just make you smile. I love it here. Try the beef heart when they have it, it's amazing!

This was our first experience with Peruvian food, so we made sure to tell the waitress that. She explained a couple of things, and brought out a plate with two little cups- one full of delicious corn nuts, and one full of a delicious green sauce. We just dumped the corn in and ate it with our forks. Hopefully that was right. She recommended the homemade chicha morado, a beverage made from purple corn, pineapple, and spices. It's so good, I've already downloaded two recipes so I can make it at home, though at $3.50 it's reasonable here! I ordered one of the lunch specials- Papa a la Huancaina. This is a traditional dish from Huancayo, a Peruvian mountain town. It's a "yellow cheese-infused sauce," which is mild but tasty, poured over a pile of potato slices. Well, they said "slices" but they're large chunks, which is fine by me! Peru INVENTED potatoes, and I am 100% here for them! I was a little disappointed that the menu says "accompanied with hard boiled egg and olives," and it was actually accompanied with half of a hard boiled egg and one olive. It was served at room temperature- not bad, just unexpected. Quite a good, if small, dish for $7. Mi Esposa got the empanadas del dia off the appetizer menu. $10 gets you two empanadas in your choice of chicken or steak, deep fried, hot, and delicious. We wrapped up the meal with a crema de botella (?), which is basically a Peruvian flan, but with a thicker, more caramel-like texture. It was an amazing taste, and worth the $5. Our total, with tax, was $27.85. I would have liked more food for that price, but I certainly can't take issue with the quality. We'll probably be back.

I had extremely high hopes for this place. I was so excited to see so many authentic dishes and drinks that I would eat during my time in Peru. The atmosphere looked very welcoming and family friendly! The service was extremely horrible as we had to keep trying to get our waitress' attention but she blatantly ignored us and proceeded to check on other tables. It took us about 20 minutes to get our pisco sours as other folk who ordered after us got theirs before us. After we received our drinks, we finally placed our order and didn't see our waitress again. After waiting for an hour we said something and they had said it was extremely busy and proceeded to bring out other people's food as they ordered after we did. There were 4 other tables prior to us arriving as to which 2 already had their food at their tables. 3 tables arrived after us and 2 received theirs before we did. The waitress also proceeded to make excuses as to why ours isn't prepared yet. I wanted to wait a little longer so that there were some redeeming qualities about this place, but instead we had left without eating anything. maybe next time it will be better :) The empanadas we're good and the chicha morada was great as well! The pisco sours were so delicious as they tasted just like when I was at the vineyards in Peru. The classic, maracuya (passion fruit), and mango were amazing!

We are so glad we stopped here before we left Williamsburg. We ordered the family meal with the fried rice and sweet plantains, as well as the churros and something new, the lucuma ice cream, sweet and tasty. Also recommend the Pisco sour! Wish we had this place closer to us!

Amazing food service and flavor. If you want real food served fresh as it's eaten in Peru definitely go to this gem of a restaurant. The staff treats you like family and makes sure you are overly pleased with everything from the minute you step in the door.

Since our last few visits, they have made some very pleasing changes in lighting and decor. It's so much more of a comfortable vibe now, and more like a restaurant instead of a cafeteria. So much better! We have eaten here a number of times for dates and with other adults, but this time we brought the kids. They loved the aji de gallina, as expected. The rotisserie chicken (on the back of the menu) was very over cooked and dry, which was a huge disappointment, and the rice was too peppery (black pepper) for the kids but we loved it. The kids really liked the oyster-sauce-based tallarines saltado. The kids ordered it with chicken but I think it would have been better with steak. Chicha morada with rum has been my go-to drink for several visits, or a pisco sour, but this time I went with a different cocktail and was not disappointed. All in all they are making delicious food, great strides in ambiance, and are often short handed like most restaurant at the moment...so bring your palate AND your patience. The meals are well worth it.

The food was delicious and the service fantastic! I highly recommend the pescado a lot macho. It has a peppery tomato sauce that will have you licking your plate clean! The pisco sours are a must have! And the plantains are perfectly cooked. The ambiance was beautiful, it has a rustic contemporary vibe, great music, and perfect for date night.

I hadn't eaten there in over five years, so I was hoping the food was still as good as I remembered. My visit was on a Friday evening, around 6:00 or 6:30 PM. The dining room was relatively quiet, with only two other customers present, and I was immediately greeted upon walking in. I asked the cashier about the new menu item, the "Lamb Chops." He described them as pan-fried, noting that an order includes two to three nice-sized chops and comes with two sides. I decided to order the lamb chops to go, selecting the arroz chaufa (fried rice) which was a $1 upcharge and plantains as my sides. I was extremely disappointed when I opened my order and found that I had been served lamb shoulder for $18 and not the lamb chops I expected (typically rib or loin chops). To add to my disappointment the quality of the Lamb was very poor; it was tough, contained an excessive amount of connective tissue and fat, and was ultimately inedible. I ended up having to throw the entire portion away. The arroz chaufa also had inconsistent quality. While the flavor was good, the texture varied significantly, with parts being mushy and overcooked, and others remaining hard and undercooked. The Plantains were cut too thick and were also undercooked. Given the cost and the expectation associated with "Lamb Chops," I was extremely unhappy with my meal. I believe the cut of meat served was misrepresented, falsely advertised and the quality was unacceptable. I certainly cannot recommend this item to others and regret not ordering the chicken, which I know your restaurant prepares well.

The restaurant was clean, well-lit, and had plenty of available seating. I ordered the quarter chicken with Peruvian fried rice and sweet plantains. Everything was exceptional; the rice and plantains were cooked perfectly, and while I did think the chicken was slightly salty, it was still very tasty. I also enjoyed the green sauce provided, though the food was flavorful enough on its own. My only minor suggestion is for the staff to ask guests whether they prefer white or dark meat when ordering. The food is delicious -- from the perfectly seasoned rotisserie chicken to the sides: yuca fries, peruvian corn salad, potatoes that taste homemade. The chicken is juicy, tender, and full of flavor, especially the dark meat, though fair warning: it can take a bit longer to come out if you order that. What really stood out was the fact that it was a one-man show -- the same person was the cook, cashier, server, and everything in between. You could tell he was working hard and looked exhausted, but he still managed to get everything done with a calm demeanor and a fairly steady attitude. Patience is key here, as food is made to order and may take time depending on what you choose. But trust me, the taste is worth the wait.
