Beautiful view of city in historic Reichstag building. Outdoor viewing area. Food expertly prepared. Service efficient. Two choices for fixed price. Advance reservations required. $$$$

On the rooftop terrace of the Reichstag. Come here for the food and stay for the views, but advance reservation is a must. The breakfast sets are a bit pricey but worth it for the experience!

Great service and beautiful drinks. The view from this indoor cafe is wonderful. Love the modern decor and it's nice and warm in the winter.

I don't think the restaurant itself is 5 stars but the fact that a reservation at the restaurant allows you to roam the dome and roof of the Reichstag (with a free audio guide) with fewer tourists and shorter lines is worth 5 stars. We made reservations online for a Sunday when the General (and free tours) were not given. You have to reserve in advance so you can submit the names and birthdates of everyone in your party for a security check. When you arrive you have to show a photo ID and your reservation at the white trailer in front of the Reichstag. Then you and your bags will go through x-ray machines and metal detectors. Someone will accompany a group of people to the building and up the elevator. Once the elevator reaches the top, you can get an audio guide and wander around the roof and climb to the ramps to the top of the dome both before and after your meal. We went for cake and coffee time in the afternoon. They had several cakes to choose from and they were all beautiful looking and moderately tasty. Our server was very nice and the view of the city was great. Four cakes and coffee cost 45€.

Famous restaurant inside the Reichstag Dome. Of course it's overpriced because you pay for the view too. But, all our dishes were good, tasty, I guess expected a bit less from a restaurant inside a government building. Very good German white wine too!

Lovely restaurant with a view. Make a reservation or have your hotel do so for you. Bring identification as the security is high. The lunch prices are much more palatable than dinner, although the nighttime view is probably extraordinary. We enjoyed a smoked fish appetizer busting with flavor, chorizo? Bacon smokiness paired over creamy pea purée, smoked artic fish. Followed with schnitzel (huge portion, large enough to share) with a perfect hint of lemon. The veal meatballs in a rich demiglaze, the perfect amount of sauce, the halls were not swimming! A great start for welcoming you into the city. Then walk the glass dome and head down the street to see the Brandenburg gate!

Two dessert selections, don't remember the names but delicious!

Stopped by here close to closing to warm up after a tour of the Bundestag and Reichstag building. We ended up getting some tea and desserts. Our server was a very sweet and polite man. We had no idea what to order and he brought us his recommendations. Definitely would recommend going with the recommendations of the staff. I do not remember the exact dessert names, but they were very well presented and delicious. One was a super chocolate-y and rich while the other was light and refreshing. Definitely would recommend stopping by here for a wonderful view of the city and beautifully presented food. A treat and unique experience all around!

What a great way to end the morning!

Expensive, yes. However, if you've gone through the effort to make the trip to Berlin, made the reservations to the Reichstag, passed security, then you kind of deserve a nice meal with a killer view. Loved every part of this meal. Great service, good food, and a memorable way to cap off your trip to Berlin.

We breakfasted here solely so we could skip the line getting up to the Reichstag (Bundestag) Dome. Well worth it IMO, since it meant skipping a 1-2 hour line in July. I made the breakfast reservation two days in advance. The food was quite good and, at breakfast time, not unreasonably expensive. We had an outstanding view of both the Reichstag roof and out over the Tiergarten throughout the meal, then walked right out to the dome to take in the sights and history at our leisure. In my mind the Reichstag is a "must visit" in Berlin -- and for those tight on time, the restaurant route offers a great way to kill two birds with one stone.

We were extremely grateful to our Berliner friend for prearranging our reservation for Cake & Coffee at this fantastic venue located inside the German Parliament building. We were reserved for a 3:30P sitting and as suggested we arrived 15 min early to get through security check and allow time to walk up to the Restaurant area. The excellent service and atmosphere elevated our experience. We had a spectacular view of the city and I specially enjoyed my Passionfruit & Rhubarb Torte. It is definitely a place not to be missed when visiting in Berlin!

Ambiance: Modern, lots of light (came here for breakfast) and nice view of Reichstag. 1 /1 star Service: The servers were pleasant but it was rather difficult to catch their attention, which was kind of surprising because the restaurant wasn't crowded. 0.5 / 1 star Food: I ordered Shrimp and Dill Sour Cream Omelet. The shrimp was diced so I had little pieces of shrimp with each and every bite of my omelet. Although the dish was prepared very simply (bordering on plain), I felt the quality of the ingredients used was highlighted beautifully. BF ordered "Strammer Max", which is smoked ham on crispy bread with cheese, organic eggs, lettuce hearts and gherkins (savory pickles). He seemed to enjoy the dish but said that the bread got soggy rather quickly. Photo: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/k%C3%A4fer-berlin?select=X7YaG6_Op2eSr2K18AaKjQ 1 / 2 stars Cost Performance: About 33.50 (about $44) euro for 2 breakfast entrées and 2 cups of coffee. Not inexpensive but as a tourist visiting Berlin for the first time, I felt it was worth visiting this restaurant. 1 / 1 star

Must visit this place while you're in berlin, we went on a sunday so they closed at 4:30pm. The view is amazing, it overlooks the whole of berlin, what's nice is that the brochure tells you the names of the building you're looking at. The menu had good but very limited options, however the food was excellent, and the presentation was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend the lamb meatballs and creme brullee for dessert.

Tomato and goat chese starter was tasty.

Some friends told us we had to have a meal on top of the Reichstag, and the were so right. Now I have to admit there is a touristy gimmick to this but it is worth doing at least once. Or it is the sort of thing to take business contacts to or if your parents are picking up the tab. I wasn't that excited by the dinner menu, so went for lunch instead, which I recommend doing. You need to make reservations a day or two a head, but there is an online page that works. Plus, you get to jump the line for the dome, which is a great fringe benefit. We had the pea and smoked Salmon soup and tomato and goat cheese to start. Both were excellent, but the pea soup is a little taste of summer and just a tad better. For the rest I had the pork (really pork two ways). Which was pork cheeks braised to perfection with pork loin, chantrelles, and cauliflower purée. Excellent! We also had the pike-perch, which was perfect. Cooked perfectly, seasoned appropriately with a dill mustard sauce. The balance was spot on. Service was excellent. As I said a bit of a tourist thing, but treat yourself at least once to come here for lunch and take in the city skyline. And if you are a visitor, might as well have an amazing lunch on top of the reichstag as you'll probably come here anyways.

The portion is gigantic so don't expect to finish it, loved the flavor and richness of the sauce. The eggs were a little too done for my liking, I usually prefer them more runny. The most shocking thing was the prices, because it didn't seem like the English menu had them. Especially for the shakshuka, the add-ons really add up.

Really enjoyed Factory girl for its hipstery vibe and well designed menu... the food paired really well together (mine was the egg with bread potato microgreens tomato and cheese ) It was absolutely delicous and I licked my plate practically clean.. My friend who is vegan got the plate with no egg and cheese. They gave them faux minced meat and eggplant to replace the egg which looked delicious!! The only thing I had an issue with this place was the price point (I thought it was pretty expensive) and when I ordered a coffee , they gave me a bottle of cold brew with ice... I kinda wanted like a fresh iced latte but thats not the biggest deal just a misunderstanding I think. Service was very friendly and they only accept cards ! This place would be a good date spot to show someone you really like them (and you pay for the meal )

The fact that clean, delicious (and often vegan!) food can exist in a modern, aesthetically pleasing restaurant and that people who don't abide by certain dietary restrictions can enjoy and crave. I have an enormous soft spot for baked beans over toast. An English breakfast, if you may. (This is the one mainstay of all of the weeks I've spent in London.) And most of the time, I have a hard time getting this baked beans-over-toast fix because I don't eat red meat, so a proper English breakfast would be out of the question. Not in Berlin. Not at Chipps. I came in on a rainy fall morning on the hunt for the Perfect Gentlemen: scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes, baked beans over toast, and my choice of a vegetarian sausage. And while utterly veg-friendly and endearingly hip (the baked beans came to my table in a little jar), I couldn't help but notice that the meal, such a British staple, fell flat because of what I was comparing it to. The two pieces of vegetarian sausage were cold and the baked beans were just a tad too sweet. But still, maybe Chipps could be your Berlin. Try one of the many other options they have on their menu and I have a feeling you won't be disappointed.
