Jutta is very nice and very accommodating. Her flower shop is small but well stocked, and conveniently located. Her prices are reasonable. I really enjoy going there. Note that the vast majority of reviews are 5 star. That tells the story here on Yelp. read more

My 5-star review from 6+ years ago still stands. Jutta's selection of gorgeous flowers is unparalleled. She can do whatever you need within your budget and you'll be blown away. Today (mid-Dec 2024) 2 children came in and said "Dad gave us $20 to get a nice bouquet here." Jutta went straight to work. When the kids left, they had pocket change from their $20 and a very sweet, unique bouquet, wrapped with elegant ribbon. As for me: I was there for ribbon. Had just picked up a book (gift) from the fantasy bookstore 2 doors down. They offered gift wrap which I took, then regretted bc it was on the cheesy side (but "the price was right"). I knew Jutta would have a beautiful, unique ribbon to make this gift packaging right. And sure enough, she did. And it being December, she added a a little sprig of greenery to dress it up further. That's the kind of special touch you receive at Jutta's if you manage to be patient while she delivers extraordinary service to the customers ahead of you. For those who have never been here: enter this shop and immediately hit the Pause button. Sloooow down and enjoy the experience. This is a special place set back in time, so adjusting your speedometer is essential. Jutta is a unique shopkeeper from days of yore. She has incredible sources of stunning flowers and gift items. If she can't text you a picture of something, get over to the shop and see the item in person, and prepare to be wowed by the unique items awaiting your study. If you want an Amazon shopping experience don't come here. Jutta - thank you for continuing to offer the very best. You are an exceptional & creative merchant. We truly appreciate you. read more

Jutta has been in this location for over thirty years. She, her store, are treasured features in this neighborhood. When I am there I watch her regular customers pick up flowers, they chat, and laugh. Some bring a treat. Or even lunch. The little shop is different than all the others I have bought flowers and gifts from. Jutta carries German items. Cards, candles, beautiful paper napkins. I just bought a felt owl there. And recently some roses called Free Spirit. The selection of flowers varies. They are delivered Wednesdays and Fridays. I hope her store will flourish again. The last two years have been hard. Small businesses add a lot to neighborhoods. read more

Horrible experience here. It's dark and ugly inside for starters... which is my first time experiencing that in a flower shop. The owner treated us like we were intruders and was extremely rude. Don't blindly support a small business... some places do not deserve our coins. read more

Blown away by the beautiful roses my love got me for Valentines Day!! Jutta's has top notch roses and never disappoints. My family and I have been loyal customers for 20 years. I love supporting this small independent business. I've been coming by for many years for last minute orders. I'm always treated with respect regardless of budget. The owners do a beautiful job of arranging flowers. The selection of curated flowers is so much better than the generic offerings at TJs and other grocery stores. read more

Love this place! I want to buy a special thank you gift for someone in Berkley. The gentleman on the phone tells me they have raku pots and orchids, awesome! I googled raku pot, so many different looks / styles. I asked him what they look like, he says they have cracks and that he can't tell me anything else. When I asked for a photo he says "we are not set up for that". I said "what?" Clerk: "we are not set up for that" Me: "can you take a picture of your favorite one and send it to me?" Clerk: "no, we do not that" Me: "seriously? I want to buy a really nice one and send it as a gift" Clerk: "we are not set up for that and that's not something we do here" Me: "i get tat, I literally just want to give you my money to make a special gift for a friend" Clerk: "we can't do that for you..... CLICK" hangs up the phone! Anyone have an idea where I can get some gorgeous orchids in Berkley in a raku pot or something as beautiful? Budget $300. These people must be so high up on their white raku ponies that are blind to the fact that raku's come in many varieties other than whatever they think is so specific and unique that they have. Don't waste your time unless you can go in person to have them turn their noses up at you, read more

BEWARE! They took my order to be delivered and never even delivered and when I called they never offered any refund of any kind!!! They charged my credit card 95.00 and I never received one petal of a flower!!! Rip off con artists! read more

Jutta's is a Flower Shop and more. The space winds around a bit and is sprinkled with all sorts of interesting gifts from around the world. The Flower arrangements look gorgeous and it was a joy to watch Jutta in action. A serene Coda to this space is a pretty garden/patio space in back. My only concern was her assistant who I felt was hovering a bit too much. It's the kind of behaviour that made me feel that I was being profiled as a shoplifter. I'll roll with it the next time I'm back as this flowers, gift, and shop experience is too good to pass up. read more

Great place for browsing the selection of gifts from Europe and Japan, as well as the beautiful flowers. Jutta is a gem!

Jutta's Flowers is not your typical florist. Jutta and Todd are the most knowledgeable and friendly people you want to meet. They are very professional, love their work and have created in their shop a welcoming "nes," a beautiful place where many returning customers and friends enjoy dropping by, spending time and celebrating at times. The quality of their fresh flowers and plants is wonderful. Many, many seasonal gift items carefully chosen by Jutta from various parts of the world decorate the shop and await you! Jutta and Todd helped us make our daughter's wedding in Berkeley his month a beautiful event. Jutta listened carefully to our desires and dreams .. and the end results are hard to describe! It all was so perfectly beautiful. I recommend Jutta's Flowers warmly. You will not be disappointed! read more

My husband has been getting me arrangements from here since 2007 or so and every single time they have been AMAZING! This last arrangement was for Valentine's Day and although roses are traditional and beautiful, these were much more beautiful and admired. I've gotten different types of flower arrangements from birthdays to anniversaries, each was different, with different type of beautiful flowers. Always admired and envied by my co-workers. I have been visiting Jutta and Todd for over a year now. My original visit was to check out the some of their flowers but I ended up staying in their "treasure" room during most of my visits. The store has a welcoming-home feel which is reinforced by the professionalism and friendliness both Jutta and Todd exude. Both Jutta and Todd provide an artful craftsmanship in their creations. I have been lucky enough to witness how much care and insight goes into the creation of their arrangements. This year, I needed several arrangements done for my Grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary. Without a question, I knew who I could trust with such an event. We needed 12 arrangements, one for each table and a head table arrangement. Jutta and Todd executed on our order to perfection and quite hastily. The end result was absolutely stunning to the point that during the wedding reception a few guests were arguing about who could take the table arrangements home. I highly recommend Jutta's Flowers not just for flowers but also for their worldly gifts. read more

This is my favorite neighborhood spot for the most unique variety of fresh flowers and potted plants, for one of a kind holiday decor, beautiful not seen elsewhere greeting cards, a beautiful assortment of ribbon sold by the yard, and various special items for the home (many from Japan and Germany). I was supposed to receive a basket of flowers from my in-laws via Jutta's. I live in a condo which only requires a 4 digit pin to get in, or a simple callbox (as do all gated condo complexes). For some reason they decided not to deliver to my building because "it requires driving around and looking for the unit". I've received plenty of flowers from other services before, unfortunately Jutta's will not be one of them. Very disappointed. read more

Rude is all I can say. The bearded man (owner I believe) who works here is the rudest person ever. I've lived in the neighborhood 13 years and each time I've been in and have encountered him I've received the same unwarranted rude treatment. Today is the last, I won't be returning. read more

Jutta brings creativity, beauty, whimsy and drama to her flower arrangements. Her shop carries lovely vases, pots, candles, dishes and other items for the table and the home. Jutta takes the time to talk and enjoy the customer. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. I popped in on the way to a friend's concert and was looking for a small simple bouquet with white flowers. What a great flower and gift shop. The beautiful arrangements and the wonderful quality of the flowers make this a place worth visiting.

Jutta and Todd are the most wonderful, accommodating florists in the area. They want you to make the best, most personal choice for your budget and are incredibly generous with their time, advice, and often free gardenias! Beyond just flowers, the store has the most beautiful selection of things from around the world. If you like Tail of the Yak, this is a great, less expensive alternative for finding things from Germany, Japan, and everywhere in between. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a simple gift (not necessarily even flowers!) to someone trying to plan flowers for a wedding. read more

My family has been going to Jutta's for years. It's an amazing neighborhood shop and Jutta and Todd are incredibly warm and helpful. Whenever we need flowers or want to get a lovely gift for friends, we always end up at Jutta's. Most recently, Jutta's made us an AMAZING floral arrangement for my mom's 60th birthday party - it was outrageously beautiful and everyone at the party was in awe. Anyway, I highly recommend Jutta's if you're looking for beautiful flowers and other gifts and want friendly and helpful customer service in the process. read more

I am so happy she is back. This used to be a larger shop across from the Claremont Hotel and when she closed it was such a loss. I am happy she is back again with hard to get lovely European Christmas heirloom decorations. Unfortunately though the service is terrible - her helper is downright rude. He was rude in person AND on the phone. I don't know why she has such a person in the shop. I would go elsewhere. read more

While I was in Europe this past month I saw many wonderful shops I'd love to Yelp, but now home, I must offer a review about this flower shop...since it is so California/Western and European. Jutta's flower shop near the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley is an absolute OASIS when you enter. It is a santuary like feeling, and those of you who follow my reviews will note that they usually have mention of such a quality. Her flowers and her generous assortment of small arty and conceptual gifts are very tasteful. A rare find hereabout's. read more

Where to begin - I've been getting flowers at Jutta's for 30 years - back to the days on Domingo. Weekly fresh flowers became my treat to myself when I stopped smoking - spend the money on flowers instead, The smartest thing I ever did. Jutta and Todd designed the flowers for the weddings of two daughters, They've filled countless requests for all kinds of floral gifts over the years. If I can't get to the store the pick out the flowers, I tell them what the occasion is, what the recipient is like and they have never ever failed to hit the mark. If the occasion doesn't call for flowers, then the perfect gift is tucked somewhere in the shop - pottery, linens, baskets, ornaments - a feast of goodies, The other bonus - Jutta has the most wonderful laugh! Spend some time and drop in. PCS read more

I called Jutta's a few days before attending an event at the Claremont that I needed two arrangements for. I told her my budget and what colors I was looking for and left the rest up to her. bought a bunch of lilac's this afternoon, was told they would last up to a week if cared for. couple hours later they were completely droopy, leaves curling. the worst part when i called to kindly inquire i was told i must have done something wrong. i explained that i followed their instructions exactly: went straight home, no more than 20 minute drive-trimmed and cut as directed, added packet, placed on table away from sunlight. their response was "no one else has complained"- and was hung up on. thought spending more would mean quality and customer service, not disrespect and blame. definitely not going back. would not recommend this shop. read more
