All of the staff of Just Walk was very loving and considerate of my dog's special needs and while Frankie is no longer with us, I'll never forget how they not only "walked" Frankie but kept her entertained, helped with her training and made her an overall happier dog. This team is comprised of people always learning more about caring for pets and the bond they have with humans. I can't recommend them enough - they are the best option for Washington DC. read more

Bill walked our dog, Duncan, for a few years while we lived in DC. We could not ask for a kinder, more considerate walker. Bill was responsive to our requests and questions, flexible, and always honest. There were very few people we trusted our dog with overnight, but we always felt really good leaving Duncan with him. The few times Duncan spotted Bill on the street while I was with him, Duncan made it very clear that Bill was his person. Owners and pups alike are lucky to have Bill! read more

Can't recommend Just Walk enough. We have a small chihuahua/dachshund mix who can be pretty aggressive with other dogs. Kotu, and now Bee have been saints and taken our pup out with some of their other client pets to help him be a little bit more social. We work almost exclusively with Bee now and we love it. She's great with our dog, she's super accommodating, and we honestly couldn't ask for anything more from the great care we've gotten from Just Walk. read more

Just Walk is a gold standard in pet care. They don't just treat your animal as one of many stops along a route - they really care and take the time to get to know each pet, understand their needs and personality, and provide the personalized care that they each deserve. Meg has so much experience and beyond that, an innate understanding of animal behavior that informs her bond and development of trust with all of the dogs in her care. She has even given me tips and pointers to help with training for my puppy and has reinforced this training when spending time with her. I love Just Walk!! read more

Meg from Just Walk took care of my cat, Tabitha, for close to a decade. I travel a lot and I always felt confident that Tabitha would be well cared-for when I was away. Meg always went above and beyond--cleaning up when Tabitha was sick and less able in her old age. Meg is a true animal lover and formed a real bond with Tabitha, sometimes sending me pictures when I was away. Meg also came to say goodbye when it was time for Tabitha to move on from this life. When I have cats in my life again, I will be calling on Just Walk again for cat sitting services. read more

These guys are pretty great. I interviewed several agencies for the job and most of them were large companies with a rotating cast of dog walkers/sitters that couldn't guarantee the same person would see my dog every visit. Keep in mind you're giving these people a key to your house, your worldly possessions and most importantly, your baby (dog, that is). I found Just Walk to be convenient, efficient, customer- and dog-friendly, affordable, and professional. They offered individual or group walks and are flexible with timing, cancellations and last-minute requests. I like knowing my $ goes to a small, employee owned business and my dog is building a relationship with the same trusted walker. I'd recommend any day! Though maybe I should keep them a secret and all to myself.... read more

I started using Just Walk a few months ago. Keith is our regular dog walker, and he's very kind, friendly, and professional. Keith was able to easily fit our dog into his schedule so that the dog can keep going out at around the same time he does when I am home. Keith also does all the little things that help a dog owner rest assured that the dog is okay being left alone for the rest of the day (refilling water, putting out a new Kong treat). I went to Just Walk because I was previously using one of the larger companies in the area and I wasn't really happy with the customer service I received. Keith always uses full sentences to answer my emails, responds to notes I might leave (e.g., dog is on a new medication), and texts photos of my dog out and about. I feel less anonymous with him than I did with the other company, so I am very happy with how things are going with Just Walk. read more

I wish I still lived in DC so I could have Meg as my dog walker! Luckily she still gives me training tips and advice even though I moved. She loves dogs and they love her! I feel very lucky that I had the opportunity to use Just Walk read more

Just Walk - Dog Walkers Near Me

Just Walk is by far the best dog walking company out there. It's intimate, personal and you can feel how much they care about your dog. My main dog walker is Meg. I met Meg a few years ago and we have become very close pen pals, she makes sure to leave notes, emails and pictures for me and my husband to see! There is nothing better than receiving a picture of your pup while at work. She always looks happy and very well taken care of. I can also ask Meg any question about my pup and she will either have an answer for me or do research and get back to me. She lets me know if there is anything out of the ordinary with her or if she think that I have to feed her rice for her upset stomach. Among many examples. My dog absolutely loves her and trusts her which is so important. Meg and the Just Walk company is very accommodating and flexible in a way where you can call, email or text any last minute schedule changes and they will help you out. If you are late coming home from work, they will make sure that if you need a second walk during the day- they can make that happen. Meg also cleans my dogs ears and has sleep overs (boarding) when necessary! I trust her and the entire team at Just Walk! I couldn't be more grateful for Meg and my family calls her our "life-saver" because that is what she is. Needless to say, I highly recommend this company with your pet! read more

Just Walk has been giving our dog, Roscoe daily walks since we moved to DC in 2014. They're extremely reliable and treat Roscoe like he's part of their family. They've never missed a walk and frequently accommodate last minute changes to the schedule. We moved last fall and I accidentally gave Bee a bad key so she got locked out of my place with Roscoe after their walk. Bee notified me of the problem and Kotu came over to hang out with Roscoe for the rest of the afternoon until I could get home from work. They routinely go above and beyond - sending texts when they notice Roscoe isn't feeling well or just sending cute photos or videos from the day. I enjoy reading the daily notes Meg leaves us and seeing the photos she frequently sends. All of the Just Walk walkers we've had over the years have been wonderful and super easy to work with. We've moved twice in the last 4 years and I'm so glad we've been able to stay with Just Walk! read more

Meg and Just Walk are a phenomenal bunch! I've been entrusting my 10 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Tor, to Meg's care for almost five years and couldn't be happier. Meg really goes the extra mile and never hesitates to help out when needed. She's incredibly patient and caring and has really worked to cultivate a personal relationship with Tor who has embraced her as part of his family. She's always at the ready and never complains when I need to add walks or travel last minute and the rare time she's not available, the Just Walk team tries hard to step up to the plate and make sure Tor gets the consistent care he's used to. Just Walk's prices are incredibly competitive and the value for money they offer is above and beyond the local competition (and I tested a few out before deciding on Just Walk). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Meg and the Just Walk team for all your pet's needs! In fact, one of the reasons I've stayed in my current neighborhood for so long is because I can't bear to lose Just Walk! read more

Just Walk has been providing cat care for me for a few years now and they are super wonderful. With a previous cat with health issues, they were very adept at administering shots and watching for signs of any physical distress and would keep me in the loop while I traveled. With my current young cat, they provide her with lots of play time when they stop by for visits so that she is relaxed and content when I get back. They are great at caring for cats all along the spectrum of ages and needs. read more

I had an excellent experience with Just Walk when I needed a cat sitter for two weeks. My sitter Rob was fantastic all around- friendly, professional, and he took great care of my meow and all of her specific needs and spoiled kitty requirements! When I returned home I could tell that she had the best of care and was comfortable with Rob. I cannot recommend him enough! read more

Kotu took care of Slater and Mauri for the first year of their lives. We moved away, but Slater and Mauri miss Kotu so much!!! I wish we could find another walker who is as loving and trustworthy as Kotu. read more

I am so happy I found Just Walk, specifically Meg and Kotu. Their service is fabulous and prices are great. I also do airbnb and they have been great with cat sitting while there are guests in the home. I travel a fair amount and it's so much easier knowing that they are looking after my very spoiled cat Pookie. read more

I wish I could give 6 stars to an outfit like Just Walk. The short review is: they care for your animals as much as you do, and provide invaluable peace-of-mind knowing that your fur babies are getting personal and compassionate attention. It is probably important to note that Just Walk is a Co-op, so the employees have a vested interest in developing long-term ongoing relationships with clients, and that shows. If you want more detail, read on. If not, just give them a call, you won't regret it, especially in the Shaw/Bloomingdale area. A year ago, we got a great dane puppy and a bengal kitten. We tried other walkers, but were a little disappointed with the level of service. We met with Kotu, and were immediately drawn to him because of his very obvious excitement and interest in our animals. In the beginning, our pup couldn't even go out because his shots were not complete, but Kotu would come over and spend plenty of time playing with him, multiple times a day, helping our puppy and kitten get used to each other and continuing the training we were working on. It was clear that Kotu cared about our little guys as much as we did. One of the most impressive aspects of this organization is that they really go out of their way to keep clients satisfied. We both travel for work, and so Kotu would stay at our house when we were gone. But they are in high demand, and there were times when Kotu would have multiple clients who wanted overnights. Over the course of a year, there was not a single time when the Just Walk team did not find a solution. One of the owners, Meg, has covered for him (and our animals loved her as much as Kotu), along with others. If it was someone who had not spent much time at our place, Kotu would bring them over (at no cost), show them around the house, explain the routines, the animal's personalities, etc. Above and beyond the level of effort that most organizations would put in. Over the past year, there have been times that our dog or cat were not feeling well, had injuries, etc. Kotu was always very communicative about what was going on, and always coddled them the same way we would have. I never once worried that they were not being treated like precious cargo, and people would repeatedly comment about how happy our dog was when he came to the park with Kotu. In the end, I can sum it up with one anecdote: my wife was walking our dog (115 lbs), and they happened to see Kotu on the street. She said that he has never pulled so hard, and she has never seen him so excited to great another human. That is exactly what you want from a dog walker/care giver, and that peace-of-mind is something we will miss when we move! read more

Meg and her team of dog walkers and pet sitters are fantastic. She's been my dog-walker for almost a year now. All of the other glowing reviews are spot on, so I don't have much to add. If you live in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of DC, subscribe to positive reinforcement methods, and want your pets to be taken care of by calm, experienced, compassionate, responsible humans, Just Walk is for you. read more

Just Walk has been providing walks and overnight care for our dogs since June 2012. I can't say enough good things about Meg and her coworkers! Meg truly loves our dogs and gives them great exercise and care. And they love their Aunt Meg! I'm no longer anxious when I travel because I know the dogs are keeping their schedules, enjoying being at home, and getting lots of love. Most recently one of our dogs needed urgent care while we were out of town. Meg did an incredible job at communicating with us and making sure that the pup was safe. You can't go wrong with Just Walk!! read more

I've been a happy Just Walk customer for over 2 1/2 years now. Madison has been walking our dogs now for over a year, and we cannot be happier. She is so reliable and flexible with our dog's specific needs. Best of all, she very obviously loves spending time with them. It's wonderful to know how much the Just Walk staff cares about their clients. It feels like Madison has become part of our family :) We are forever grateful for Just Walk's care of our dogs! read more

Shira at Just Walk was essential to our dog's successful adjustment to our home. We adopted Ginger when she was an adult, not knowing very much about her past. Shira came over for our "meet and greet" on the day we brought Ginger home, and has been a huge help to our family ever since. Ginger recently had puppies and has gone through a lot of medical issues and other changes in the past few months. Having Shira help with walking has been essential in our efforts to keep Ginger on a routine, despite irregular schedules. Ginger is always so happy on days Shira comes over, and I can tell Ginger loves her by her excitement when we run into Shira outside. I really appreciated that Shira was patient with us when our schedules changed, and didn't judge us for being neurotic pet-parents. My husband never had a dog (I have, but never in a small apartment), so we were really concerned about Ginger's well being. Shira didn't seem to mind us asking if she thought Ginger seemed alright when she was there, and even put up with the week we thought baby-monitoring software might be a good idea (it really wasn't necessary). I also appreciate that Shira walked Ginger without other dogs. I see a lot of dog walkers around the city walking eight or more dogs, and it never looks like a good time for anyone. I feel better knowing Ginger is getting some attention in addition to exercise. We will really miss Shira now that she's leaving, but I trust Just Walk because of how awesome Shira was to us. Our emails interactions with everyone else at Just Walk have also been positive. I appreciated that Meg got back to my initial inquiry promptly and explained their services clearly and professionally. read more

We have used Just Walk for more than a year. Rob is our regular dog walker and is wonderful. Rob and Just Walk clearly love animals and have never been anything but helpful. When my dog and I run into Rob around the neighborhood, my dog goes wild with excitement-- clearly Rob is one of his favorite people in the world. Rob has been helpful in last minute crunches when I needed to stay at work late. I have nothing but good things to say about Just Walk. read more
