I am in from Ohio my son is in ICU at Presbyterian. While he was in surgery I went here I had my suitcase, my purse along with my visitors badge that said ICU and I spent $28 here. I asked for a bag with handles because I had to go get some juice and I was lugging my suitcase purse and now this food. The girl started to say yes and then the gentleman said no I couldn't have it. I said I would be happy to purchase it. He said no we don't allow customers to do that. I said please and his response was they are only for take out and delivery orders. I asked again and he said fine but you won't get a discount next time. I said no problem as I had no intention of ever going back. I don't know what discount I got. I flew into NYC on 8/22 I arrived just before my sons surgery. I was at your establishment around 3-3:30. We are still in ICU and I have eaten many meals in the area, not another at your establishment. There was a gentleman that made my salad that was very nice and helped me decide since I've never been there. The young lady ringing me up was very nice. I don't know how much the bag cost but his attitude cost you one customer with a big mouth and a lot of friends. The shawarma chicken didn't actually taste like meat. The avocado toast was good but nothing can erase the taste of bad service certainly not mediocre food at best. I never did hear from their corporate office. I contacted them and they said within two days well it's been much longer and no response. I received a message from someone on Yelp from Just Salad asking if they could have their manager contact me. I said yes. I was never contacted. Maybe they were going to try and make it better but not following through is a problem. On every occasion they made a choice not to follow through. I would rather go to sweetgreen too bad there wasn't one near NY Presbyterian. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here. read more

There is a tan skin guy with green eyes and these two girls whose name I wish I can remember who always give great customer service. I make my own custom salad and it's always delicious. The salads are pretty good but you can tell that the employees here HATE their job. It's either that or they just didn't get proper training on how to deal with customers. No pleasantries, employees seem annoyed when you ask for something different or extra...they just seem like grumpy robots going through the motions. I've been to another location in the city and the employees there have a much more cheerful disposition. The place was clean, modern, and minimalist looking, I liked it. This is not a place for large groups as there are only 6-8 two person tables here. I chose a spicier salad that was bomb! I was so surprised seeing ppl complain on here saying that the salad were "boxed garbage". Not saying I'm a salad expert but that def was not a ghetto salad! I also asked to sample the dressing first since it was going to be mixed in. He let me sample it no problem and that is what I stuck with. Do not just get a dressing if you are unsure of the taste-ask for a sample! My friend ordered one of their warm bowls w/quinoa and veggies, a nice healthy bowl of goodness that she enjoyed. My salad was $10-$11, which was the price point I expected to pay. Oh and you get a nice piece of focaccia bread w/your salad. Hey, I gotta balance my life somehow! lol. For a salad spot I'd say they are good but I can't give them 5/5 for a few reasons. - Expensive (spent $15 on a salad and wasn't even aware that the price is getting racked up when I added more ingredients) - When I have a salad I like to have meat in it & the portion of meat is way to small - Staff is friendly - Limited seating - Need a better beverage selection - Menu Format can be laid out a bit better Overall - if I'm in the mood for a salad, I'd come here but there definitely better places (Sweet Green for example) read more

So I got a coupon due to my prior poor experience from another location. I really appreciate Janae for reaching out to me in attempts to rectify the issue by offering me a coupon but I think the branches really need some work. Maybe some quality control of some sort. Because I had a coupon, I decided to give Just Salad another chance. I ordered a very simple salad for pickup at this location: Mesclun greens and 4 toppings. It was a bit out of my way but it was the closest location to me. I forgot to put a dressing in my order but that was my fault. I really like the idea of a reusable bowl because it helps the environment so I put that in my order, submitted it and I was on my way to grab it. I was excited to give this another shot. When I got to the store after walking several blocks, one of the guys that was prepping the food let me know that my salad was already packaged and ready for pickup. Nice! I didn't have to wait. I took my order and immediately left. I knew I should've looked inside my bag but I was in such a rush and didn't. Big mistake. By the time I got on the train, I realized that they did not give me the reusable bowl that I asked for in my order. They also didn't give me any napkins which wasn't really a big deal. I just can't believe they didn't give me the reusable bowl. I also didn't see any grape tomatoes in my salad upon first glance. By the time I got to work to open it to eat it, I did find like three half grape tomatoes and two wilted greens. Maybe three half grape tomatoes is what they're supposed to give and I was going to let that slide until I saw the black wilted leaves. Honestly, I was looking forward to the reusable bowl and I didn't get it. Again, they didn't get my order right. I wish I took a photo to show that all this is true but I was just plain upset at that point. Honestly, if they got my order right this time, I will probably try more of their salads. In each case they've included ingredients I cannot eat due to medical dietary restrictions. Ordered a steak, blue cheese & tomato wedge salad with pickled onions. Replaced the lettuce with spinach and arugula. Expected a delicious salad. But they have no rational conception of portioning. They put so many pickled onions that its ratio to the greens was 1:1, making it the predominant flavor. Absolutely disgusting. Pickled onions should be used as a garnish. And to make it all the more a perfect example of why this restaurant should shutter and the person who created the recipes to be banned from ever opening a business that serves anything beyond water was that, all in all, the salad was fit for a Chihuahua. And it was 15 mother ******* ollars. Do yourself a favor and go to your neighborhood market. Buy a bag of greens and other ingredients you prefer for salads. Load it all into a glass tupperware container. Shake it up. Then hand it to a partner. Ask them to toss it into the air so you can swing with great launch angle and bat speed, hitting it into a wall. I've been to this location 3 times & received the BEST customer service Ive ever gotten in Brooklyn! My last visit was on a Friday night 20 minutes before they closed. I thought that by walking in that late they would be rushing me out. however, I received no bad looks, no bad attitudes, only smiles & cool vibes! Hurts me to write this review. I've been buying a Just Salad customer almost from the very start - originally when I worked in midtown Manhattan, and then on Hudson street in TriBeCa, and then more recently when JS opened in my home neighborhood of Park Slope. Originally, JS was a fresh, friendly and welcome alternative to the usuals - Cafe Metro, Cafe Europa, Hale & Hearty, etc. Sadly, I have finally finally given up on the promise of Just Salad. The food is fine. The service is just unacceptable. The past couple of years, orders from the Park Slope location, which is not a particularly busy location, have taken in many cases well over an hour (as long as an hour and a half) to arrive. I understand that Covid has made everything more challenging, but at least come clean with me when I'm ordering about the delivery time. More recently, this issue seems to be addressed, but other problems persist. The last two orders I've made missed items (though I was charged for the missing items). More problematic is the fact that you can't call the location for help. Today, I realized as soon as I hit the "order" button that I had forgotten to select a dressing. Impossible to call the store. Impossible to email the store. I called the general number and after several layers down the phone tree was told to text a number (which was alpha so had to translate to actually digits) for help. Many minutes later I get a reply saying "sorry we'll get back to you shortly". Then a request for the order number, which I couldn't find anywhere. By the time I actually contacted someone the order (of course) had arrived. Without dressing. My fault for not ordering it in the first place but, though I tried to reach the store as soon as I placed the order. Maybe they could deliver the dressing to me since I'm just a few blocks away? Nope too busy. So now I'm going to eat the salad without dressing. We'll, it's missing two ingredients. I give up. To Their credit JS offered a discount on my next order. But frankly there are just so many better options out there for lunch it's not worth the time or effort anymore. For those in the neighborhood, try the newly opened Taim, which is excellent. Or order from Local purveyors like Little Purity or Nadre's. In this day and age this level of service is just not acceptable. read more

This place rocks. I have to admit when I saw that a salad place was moving into such a big storefront, I was a little disappointed. Who really needs a salad place anyway? Apparently, me! I've been a number of times and every time, my salad if fresh, interesting, yummy and huge! To top it off, I have yet to find someone behind the counter who wasn't super friendly, efficient and good at what they do. A big thank you in particular to Ian, who has kindly helped me more than once and does an awesome job each time. A couple of tips: there's a price reduction on salads after 2 pm, and another reduction for those who get a frequent shopper card. You can definitely get a decent salad here. The ingredients *usually* seem fresh, but occasionally you'll get some stale garbanzo beans or something. Also, the service here, while efficient, is not very friendly. They usually yell at you and get snappy and seem like they hate their jobs, but I totally understand that. There's no tip jar out, also.
