I've been here several times over the years, always enjoyed their pies, and even commissioned one with them (had them make a sugar cream pie, my favorite.) Somehow had never reviewed them. In an industrial-park type strip mall, off Maxtown. Nice and open inside, super friendly and helpful staff, plenty of pies on display. Fruit pies, cream pies, and my goal for the day: pot pies. I'd never had theirs, and with cold weather they sounded good. I got a standard chicken (they also have white meat, and chicken with broccoli) and beef. Other options were beef/broccoli/mushroom, I think, and one or two more. They come in small, medium, and large. Small is about what you would get at a grocery. Of course I couldn't resist the sweet pies, but I only got one small one, a win for my health. Coconut cream, for Kid K; I ended up eating half of it, but she loved it too. Pot pies: I got mediums, about 2 servings worth. Very tasty. Sturdy but flaky crust, packed with meat and potatoes and veggies. All pies are in very sturdy boxes. I almost saved one to reuse around the house, they're that good. Definitely will be back. A bit out of my way, and I miss their other locations which were a little more handy for me, but these are worth the detour. read more

Best pies I've ever had!!! I stopped in here on my way home from a work trip. This place has been on my Yelp to-dos for a while, and I was finally in the area. I ordered a seasonal blueberry, cherry, apple with oat crumb topping, a small buckeye, and small butterscotch pies. This is a cute, quaint pie shop that's as straight forward as its name. Service was very quick - I arrived when they had just opened. The pies were incredible. Loved the meringue on the butterscotch. The buckeye pie was very rich and chocolatey! I have tried several of the fruit pies- cherry, apple, strawberry rhubarb, peach, and blueberry. Their blueberry pie is the best I have ever had. They also serve you very quickly, and you are out the door. Highly recommend. read more

Continuing a long standing Thanksgiving tradition, we spend the holiday with our kids and grandkids in Louisville, KY and our contribution is PIES. The kids and grandkids always look forward to grandpa showing up with pies from Just Pies. I'm usually in line (a really long line) at 8a on Tuesday. This year I didn't get there until about noon. Still had to wait in line but not as long a line as 8a. Still had an excellent selection of pies and I was able to get a large pumpkin and 2 medium apple pies (they were out of large ones). Sorry to say the pies weren't very good. Frankly the pies at Sam's Club are better. Counter people are helpful but the pies are just less than stellar, especially for the price. The crust was quite heavy and the filling tasted like canned filling. read more

There's just two words for Just Pies - Just Go! They make amazing pies. I love the peach/berry Peach Riot, and also enjoy the cream pies - chocolate, coconut, etc. All of the pies are generously filled and ultra fresh. They do and will sell out. Either go early, or you can pre-order, which is highly recommended if you want a certain kind. What I really love is that they make a 6 inch size that's just right for a couple of days of pie for one person as well as full sized! Also, don't sleep on the pot pies. They are fantastic! They make a normal chicken pot pie, a dark meat chicken, and a chicken/broccoli/cheese number, all of which I have purchased multiple times and will again. Again, these come in the small and large sizes. The pot pies are sold frozen, and take about an hour to cook, so factor that into your calculations. Please also note - they do use lard in their crust. While I don't normally eat pork, I do make an exception for the best frigging pie crust in the city. No joke. You can also pick up their wares at some of the local grocery stores around town, so if you see them, take advantage, though a trip to the Mother Ship is always a good idea! read more

This was my first trip to just pies after hearing raving reviews over the past year. It did not disappoint. I had a beef pot pie which isn't at all like the poor pot pies we grew ip with. It was more like a pot roast in a pie crust. It was pure deliciousness. I also purchased an apple crumble pie and the peach riot pie. The peach riot is an amazing pie consisting of peaches, blueberries and cherries. The kids loved it. I'm so happy I found this place! I ordered a small butterscotch pie for my boyfriend's birthday and he loved it. It's the perfect size for one person to eat over a couple of days. The flavor was delicious and not overly sweet. It was pretty too! A+ for appearance. It was super easy to place an order. I called with my order and was on the phone for probably less than a minute. Pickup was just as easy. The actual store is cute. It's small, but packed with lots of pies and smells fantastic. I'm very pleased with my pie and the price I paid. I visited this bakery three times because of the great reviews. I really enjoyed the buckeye pie and french silk pie more than the fruit pies. On the second and third visit I noticed that the crust was a tad salty. A little salty crust on a savory pie I can deal with, but not on a sweet pie. Also, I was looking forward to trying the key lime pie, but I was very disappointed (glad I only purchased the small). For me, this pie really did not have a good flavor--just a strong tartness. I have had better key lime pie from other bakeries. I may make an occasional visit to Just Pies for the buckeye pie, but this will not be one of my favorite bakeries if the crust continues to be salty. Oh, I enjoyed the turkey pot pie . The buckeye pie was absolutely delicious! It must be one their best sellers as I got the last small pie, and I got there before noon. The pie was lite and not too sweet--just right. I sliced my pie and put in the freezer, and I can actually say, it was even better eating frozen/semi-frozen. It was like eating a pie, ice cream, and candy bar ( peanuts and chocolate chip topping) all at once--what a treat! I can't wait to try some of the other cream pies. Always have loved Just Pies, can't believe I haven't reviewed them before. I used to buy the pies at the bakery of local retail store, The Andersons, but after they shut down have been going to the Westerville location for pick up. My very favorite is their Buckeye cream pie, which has layers of chocolate cream, peanut butter cream, and whipped cream. It's like a bite of awesome. The pie is stacked high, so the slice is huge. The large costs about $17 and feeds about 8-10 people. I have tried their fruit apple and peach pies before as well, and they are equally good. The most recent time I went in was for a pickup during COVID. I had preordered the pie for pickup. They had it ready to go and just an FYI, 3 guests are allowed inside the store at a time. Couldn't wait for Thanksgiving to check this place out. Thankfully my friends had a baby so I had an excuse to pick up a pot pie and a sweet pie...then some for myself. Check the hours, I think it runs normal business hours of 9:00 to 5:00 most days. Not as late as you might want it to be. During the holidays they no longer take orders, it's first come first serve. For COVID they have a designated entrance and exit, distance from the counter and a staff member will pull the pie out of the fridge for you then ring you up. They also sell gallons of ice cream to go. Lots of variety of fruit pies, seasonal pies. Check out their website before you head over. Honestly don't know how much they cost each but, I spent $50 got 4 pies and it seemed reasonable. One small buckeye pie (chocolate french silk, peanut butter, and whip cream), two chocolate chip pecan pies (which the staff member mentioned freeze well) I would call these small/average size pies, and a large chicken pot pie let's serve six to eight. I've tried the buckeye so far, crust is light and crispy and the filling has great flavor. Great little place, Glad I finally tried it! Nice for special occasion or a nice treat. The place is tucked away in an industrial park. The store was fairly large. The customer service was ok nothing outstanding either good or bad. By the time we got there, they were pretty much out of the popular pies. I liked the Boston Cream pie! We also got a chocolate pie and a Chocolate Mint creation & P.B. Chocolate.
