Joe was excellent throughout the entire process. After speaking to over 10 other contractors, all of whom came out and gave me estimates ranging from $6000 through $14000, I was thoroughly impressed with Joe's professionalism and his attitude from the start. He was completely upfront about pricing, credits from manufacturers, anticipated labor time, etc. Where are other contractors were just trying to squeeze every last dime out of me I never got that impression from Joe. When it came to the actual work, Joe was able to coordinate around our schedule (as we were in the process of getting married and moving into the new house at the same time). The team he had working with him was excellent throughout the whole process as well. They were all extremely polite and professional and I had no concerns about leaving them in my house to get the necessary work done. I never saw them standing around with nothing to do and they were very respectful of our property. They even made sure that they cleaned up each and every day after they finished working, which was excellent, and definitely not something every company does. It's 5 months later and I still haven't found a single nail or piece of cut piping laying on the ground. The boiler that was put in works excellently, probably better than my initial expectations. He also removed the ancient boiler and oil tank that were there when we purchased the property. Once again, there were no issues with the removal and I love having the extra room in the basement. It has been 5 months since he installed the system and there has been two times when I have had a minor leak, and due to my fear of plumbing, I called Joe both times. On both occasions not only did Joe get back to me within the hour, he also arranged to have one of his guys out at my house the following morning. Both of the problems were relatively easy fixes and the individual was in and out of my house in under an hour on both occasions. I have nothing but high regards for Mr. Abbate and his company and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were a blessing to me, even the young lady who answered the phone was so sweet and polite. and this meant so much more because I've been having an extremely rough year, been having a lot of Windows slammed in my face but Mr Abbate came to assess my furnace and he was so considerate and so empathetic and compared to everyone else I had been dealing with in the past few weeks, he considered how cold it was outside and how uncomfortable it must have been for me, and he made sure to get my furnace in, even though I'm pretty sure his schedule is extremely tight right now. He could have waited until after Christmas but he tried his best to get the work done for me right away, and for that I will be forever grateful. My faucet was leaking (needed a new o-ring, which I ordered from Moen) and then I realized the pop-up assembly was cracked. Now, no more leaky bathroom sink drain or faucet! YouTube made it seem fairly straightforward to fix, but it turned out that there was a problem with a pipe as well (someone had installed a pipe for a kitchen sink, not a bathroom sink) and it needed some gaskets too. I wouldn't have known how to handle that. He was efficient, able to pull it apart and get this simple job done right quickly.

Based on my experience with them on two occasions, I would give them a 5 star rating…read more Bosse Heating and Air Conditioning was recommended to me for my annual oil burner service. It had been about 3 years or so since I had the last service done by an oil company I no longer use. I called Bosse, created an appointment on a Saturday (WOW - those appointments usually get filled quick!) and waited for the day to arrive. They were scheduled to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. They arrived around 8:30 which was perfect. On time. :-) He spent a good portion of the time just vacuuming out all the soot, etc. since it had been so long since I had it cleaned. (Yes, MY fault.) He then replaced the filter, the nozzle, etc and took a final efficiency reading (82% - which is great!) Price was reasonable and I was extremely happy that he took the time to clean it correctly, even though it was my fault it was so dirty. I tried to give him a tip for putting him through that but he wouldn't accept it. So I thought that would be the end of it until next year, when I will hire them to clean it again. I was wrong. Two days later I was doing my monthly sump pump testing (in the same area as the boiler) by filing the sump pit with water from a hose attached to the Amtrol Water Tank Bladder. Well, I opened up the valve too quickly and the water pressure whipped the hose out of the sump pit and it liberally soaked the entire boiler before I could get it shut off (and we're only talking about 2 seconds here). The water must have fried the electronics (the relay unit) because the boiler stopped working. I shut off power, removed the unit and dried as much of it off as I could but it didn't work. My boiler was down for the count. I called Bosse again and explained the situation. They told me that they are super busy and backed up with service calls because winter is approaching. But they would try to get someone out to look at it. About 2 hours later she called back and said they were still looking. Ten minutes later their truck pulled into my driveway! Woo Hoo! They came in and diagnosed it as a bad relay unit due to "water damage" i.e. my fault. We had a chuckle about that and he promptly replaced the unit. All is fine again and the boiler is working perfectly again. And I vowed to never try to wash and wax my boiler again! So two thumbs up to Bosse!
