We had a hot water tank installed by Dynamic Mechanical. From the date of install we kept getting alarms on the new shut off system they installed on the tank. They have been out several times to "fix" it. All they have done is unplug and reset it. There is a terribly annoying beep that keeps going off every time we get a new error. It hasn't been right since install and now they want me to pay to have them come look at it because the labor warranty has expired. I get it and if this was a new issue I would have zero problems in paying them to come out, however that is not the case. I was in Aruba and had a furnace break down in Connecticut during a blast of cold temperatures. This company was great to work with, expedient about getting the materials, setting time to make the repair and completing the job. The technician was very skilled and professional. The price was very fair. I had used them for the first time on a previous job where I had a problem with mini splits not working. The previous contractor who actually installed it could not find the problem. Dynamic was recommended by the manufacturer. They came out, inspected it, found the problem and made the necessary repair the next day. Again, a very reasonable charge. Great company! My wife called saying that the furnace wasn't working and we are leaving for vacation the next day so we were panicked. I googled heating companies and found Dynamic mechanical. They gave me an appointment right away and showed up on time. My wife loved that they respected our home by putting surgical booties on there boots. The technician was very polite and exactly explained what went wrong. He gave us a price and was able to fixed the motor right away. Why I liked them- Pricing seems fair. Called this business based on great reviews and could not have been more disappointed. I spoke with Nate and set up a time for him to go out to provide an estimate for both an a/c compressor and hot water heater. Nate assured that he would be in contact the next day with confirmation that the estimate was in process and provide me a time frame for the final numbers. Well... Almost 4 weeks later, three messages left for Nate, and still no response. I guess Yelpers steered me wrong on this one. Poor customer service, zero response to three detailed voicemails and no follow through. Call Hygrade Home Services and talk to Steve; as his immediate response, professionalism and great follow through have me purchasing both my air conditioning compressor unit and hot water heater with complete confidence. read more

I was robbed by these guys. My tenant complained the air conditioner unit was not turning on. I called in a service request from these guys and they came a few days later. What they found was that the tenant inadvertently turned the power switch off. The service guy turned it on and then the unit worked. I also requested 4 spare air filters , which they charged $80 for. These are probably the cheapest made filters you can find. So, overall, $350 to turn on the power switch and supply 4 cheap air filters ; my opinion: steer clear of these crooks read more

I have to give a great review to the repairman that serviced my furnace and heater/ac unit. He did a great job and discovered why I had water in my basement. The price was more than fair. The missing star is for the plumber. I was double booked for an 11:00 appointment. He showed up after 4:00 which was ok. He did a good job on my faucet but I feel that he over charged me for fixing the 2nd leaky faucet. That cost more than installing the first faucet. I wonder if he charged me overtime since he was there past his regular hours. (Their fault) I will use them again for maintaining my furnace but I will probably shop around for another plumber. read more

Nathan has moved to Vermont where he continues to disappoint customers. He came to look at a job. Said he could do the work within a week and that he would have an estimate in my hands within two days. A week has come and gone and he appears to have fallen off the face of the earth. He has failed to respond to two call and two messages. We are in a pinch and needed reliable help. Now we have lost a week and need to start all over. I don't know how a man can stay in business when he does not even have the common courtesy to call with an explanation. read more

And this keeps getting better...we contacted the CT Dept of Consumer Affairs who opened in investigation and they found out that the tech who serviced our boiler that eventually blew up 6 weeks later was recently (a year or so ago) a Real Estate agent and was not licensed to do any work alone on a residential furnace and may have at most a year of experience. My family's lives were at risk because of this company and the decision they made to send an inexperienced and non-licensed tech. The same Department offered to mediate a settlement to pay for cleaning our home and the owner rejected that so the next update we will give will be the results of the law suit we are in the process of filing. read more

So my wife said to me that she noticed the house seemed like it was colder then normal. I brushed it off until a few days later she said she has not heard the AC unit turn off...... Then I noticed it was not showing any temperature, so I turned it off, but it still kept running. I had met Nathan the owner on another job, and gave him a call. He had a tech out within one hour of my call, middle of summer. He was very professional even wearing booties over his boots to not track in any dirt. I needed a new thermostat. Within 20 min he had it rewired and was working beautiful. I would highly recommend Dynamic and look forward to doing future Buisness together. read more

I wouldn't recommend these people unless you like being lied to. My ac was out my first appointment was a wed 2-5. So I took the day off about 6pm I get a call from the tech saying he was stuck in a install wouldn't be able to make it, so fine I get it. So we reschedule for 4 next day, shows up at 6. I'm out doing stuff so my wife takes care of it and calls me saying we need a new unit. $144 bill paid for his diagnosis. ok, can you do it tomorrow? he's says let me check call me in the morning. So I call him, he tells me yes we can do it, I have to move some stuff around so the day goes on I hear nothing from him. so I call him, no can't do it I'm stuck on a job (feeling annoyed) but ok. He says definitely Monday. I call him in the morning because as usual he can't be bothered to call me. He says let me check and 2 hours no answer. (Text him with ???) So another guy calls me from the company saying he's the installer. so first guy lied was never stuck on install because he doesn't do installs. So this guy says I'm on my way to Hartford to pick the equipment up be there at 10. this is Monday now 12 comes get a call not gonna make it today stuck on a job but I'm wide open tomorrow. Me: blow up and at the end of it guess what your still wide open, I'm done!! Then, icing on the cake,I get a bill in the mail after already paying them for the service call why? I don't know, for a different price. I call them up and she can't figure it out. I give her RO order# chk # after 15 mins on the phone she cancels it but was still confused. I had the same experience as Kim and Joe! I chose this company based on other Yelp reviews...but was sadly steered in the very wrong direction. The poor secretary that answered my first four phone calls! She must hate working for Nate- because he promises the world with great service, get the job done...blah! blah! Blah! but doesn't call you back--EVER! I was charged the wrong price for a maintenance job and they wanted to add freon to a leaking unit, and I mean completely fill it- without seeing where or why it was leaking. When I asked that they further investigate, and wanted a price quote for the malarki he was feeding me, after questioning his and his employees motives with filling a LEAKING unit, he said there was this really large book he needed to reference and would call me back the next day. That was 3 months ago!! Seriously! And he has also not returned my calls for incorrect charge to my debit card, so I am contacting BBB to handle this! Maybe Nate will return a call from them! I too called these guys based on the other positive Yelp reviews. I just can't believe anyone has actually had a positive experience with this company. I spoke with Nathan (the owner) a couple of weeks ago to schedule my annual boiler tune up for today at 8:30 a.m. Well, I did not want to believe the other negative reviews on Yelp but they were indeed true. After 8:30 a.m. came and went I waited until 9:30 a.m. to call Nathan on his cell. A woman from the company answered the phone and I explained I had an appointment scheduled over an hour ago and nobody has showed up or called yet. She said sorry, they have been real busy for the past few days and she would call me back and let me know what was going on. I told her first impressions are everything and this has not been a very good one so far. I also told her I understand your busy but a phone call at a minimum would have been nice. I took a day off from work to be home for this appointment today. Well, 12:00pm came and still no one showed up or had the courtesy give me a phone call so I called Nathan's phone again and surprise, had to leave a voicemail. I asked him to please call me. Here I am now 12 hours after my initial appointment time, still waiting for a phone call as to why they blew off my appointment today. Do not waste your time with these guys.
