Ductworks did a phenomenal job from start to finish. Brian came to give us a quote and we were very impressed with his professionalism. We also were thankful for the quality of unit recommended. The value compared to other quotes was excellent. When they installed our full new air-conditioning system, they were on time and Aaron and his team were courteous and very thorough. Making sure we understood everything we needed to. Brian the supervisor even came during the installation to check and make sure that everything was being done up to standards. My elderly parents hired Ductworks to provide a cleaning and service contract. They were charged $309, were not provided a cleaning nor a contract (I still have the cancelled check). I made several attempts to contact the company to get a copy of the contract. They never provided it. Their only response was the serviceman who made the house call was no longer employed by them. They promised to replace with the same ton they took out then change there story. It would be a lose for the company. They need to train there sales associates better. Now they ignor are call Don't hire these people they are liers and all about fraud. Overall, things were ok: I called at the end of the day and rc'd a call back the next--and they scheduled me for AC repair the following day. However, on the day of the appt, our window of 12-2 was pushed to 3pm--which I do understand b/c we were in a heat wave but figure I should share this piece of info here. I was told via phone the diagnosis was $79. Tech came out and he was patient while I explained; he was able to fix the problem. My concerns: he did not wear a mask, nor offer to wear a mask. I don't know if he's vaccinated, and that info wasn't offered but the fact that a mask was not worn was troubling. And, while he diagnosed the problem and fixed it, I was 1. not told the problem before he fixed it and 2. not told the COST before he fixed it (turned out to be over $300)....what if I didn't have that money available? These are customer service issues that are problematic. I am unclear if i would use them again. read more

Eric came out quickly to access our broken central air. He was friendly, efficient and offered great suggestions. He responded quickly with an estimate and patiently answered all our questions. It took two weeks for the servicemen to come with the equipment and they too were very polite, neat and efficient. Definitely a first rate company! read more

I hired Ductworks to install heating/cooling air pumps in my home last year. The installation was honestly a mess- they showed up hours late with no explanation and when I spoke to the owner about it, it was clear he didn't care. I wound up having to take additional time off of work to accommodate them coming extra days because they had been so late the first day. They made a giant mess in my house, leaving bits and pieces of wire covering everywhere which was a hazard to my pet. After they were done, I called the city to schedule an inspection and was shocked to discover they hadn't pulled all of the necessary permits. I have called and called trying to get them to retroactively pull the permits (as the city requires) and they just ignore me. A year in, the units are functioning but you can tell they weren't installed well. One is so crooked that it's impossible to get the cover to stay shut. Another leaks moisture down the wall. I mentioned this when I tried calling *again* about the permits, and was brushed off despite having a warranty. take my advice and avoid these people like the plague!! they talk a good game upfront, but it's clear that once they have the money, they don't care about their customers, the quality of their work, or their reputation. read more

I didn't even get any service but when I called they told me they couldn't help me because they only service Southington. I live in Plainville, literally the town over. Their website says, "We've been helping homeowners in Southington, CT, and the surrounding areas with all of their heating needs since 1992." We are in the market for a new boiler and called Ductworks for an estimate. I spoke with Lynn, and explained that we were on a really short time table as we were headed out of town in a few days. She said that she didn't have anything available until after then. After communicating that with my partner, I told her we would simply give her a call back if we decided to schedule further out. Before I finished my sentence she had hung up. Obviously we won't be working with a company that isn't even able to properly train their customer service agents. That being said, after looking at these other reviews on Yelp, I'm glad that we didn't pick this company. The red flags are not in the review, but in the responses by Amanda T. Any customer relations specialist worth their salt knows that you never turn on online complaint into a defensive pissing match. She made it very clear to me that this company is more concerned about appearing "right" and not liable than actually helping their customers. I know nothing about their actual workmanship and policies, but right from the start it's a pretty poor view. read more

We had Ductworks install our central air a couple of years ago. 3 years ago we had them come to do maintenance on the outside unit. A week later one of the fan blades came off. We asked could it be from the maintenance...they said that it's a coincidence. Next summer they came out to do maintenance, 2 weeks later, same fan blade broke off. I called the owner and said that this cannot be a coincidence... He told me that it definitely couldn't have been the maintenance. Both times we had to pay for new blades and service. This year I got a different company and they looked it over and pointed out that the reason the blades kept braking is that the technician before had put the balance on just one of the blades. At this point I would not recommend this company! This is the second time after having a brand new unit put in at the end of April of this year 2021 that cost me 7,000 having them come out here again because this new unit is now hitting 77 degrees and was set for 69. I called the company and they tell me to raise the temp to 71 degrees like that is going to help...no that just means when they come here it only looks as if it is only 3 degrees higher then the set temperature. I was told this new unit was going to do better than my 30 year old unit that was rusted out but still held a temperature no higher then 72 and that was with a oven on at dinner time! This new Ac is at 77 right now and we are like we are living in a Dungeon every shade is closed, our TVs are off it is just crazy..we should not be sweating in our house with a brand new central AC read more

I've been a customer of Ductworks for about 18 years. During that time I have had a new furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater installed. Maintenance is done yearly and on my schedule. The few times I needed some emergent work done, they were responsive and got things done quickly. Highly recommended!! read more

I recently had home AC related issue. Based on Google search, I called Ductworks and they promptly sent someone within few days. It was a diagnosis-only appointment. Within 5 minutes of inspection, he started selling services(sealant, etc). In fact he also sold me the Ductworks service contract. - Its a 4 year old house which I mentioned to the technician; these guys must know about warranty and guide in that direction. In fact the system is in warranty which I later found out. - If your assignment is to diagnosis, please do a thorough job of understanding the problem. - Please do not jump to sells right away. BUYER BEWARE! I had ductworks install a new carrier furnace and central air system in July of 2017 for approximately $11,000. The initial impression of the company was good but then a few issues began to arise afterwards. On two separate occasions I went into my basement to find the insulated flex ductwork hanging on the ground, it had been connected with only HVAC aluminum tape. I called Ductworks out both times and they added additional bracing closer to the connection point (which should have been done during install). After the second issue with the flex duct coming dislodged I walked around the furnace to see if anything else was wrong and that is when I found a screw wedged into the barometric damper. The screw was in there tight and didn't allow the damper to open at all. I assumed it was put there by accident by another technician we had come out, approximately 6 months before, to increase the heat that was blowing into our family room. I explained to him that I was not pleased with my experiences and was concerned about potential damage to my new furnace. He told me the owner would call me about the issues. Five days later Kurt called me and I explained my frustration. At no time during this call did he apologize, rather he just asked questions and then wanted me to send him the picture I took of the screw. I immediately sent him the picture but didn't get a call back that day. The next morning i received a text saying that the screw being there "doesn't make sense" and he was willing to give me a free tuneup. I explained to him that he could keep the tuneup and I would no longer be using his company. Kurt called me and asked what was wrong. I brought up the fact that he never apologized and continued to try and explain away the issues. During one of his explanations he hurt his own argument- while I thought the screw was placed there by accident when we had an additional duct installed 6 months prior, Kurt dismissed this theory and mentioned that those screws come wedged into the dampers when they are brand new. This explanation pissed me off more than anything, that would mean that the screw had been wedged in there for over a year and a half and was missed by the 4 separate technicians that came to my house, 1 of which was for an annual cleaning. When I brought that up you could hear the tone in his voice change as he realized that I was right. Throwing free tuneups at customers is not good service, I would rather have the job done correctly the first time. Needless to say I told him to keep the free tuneup and I will no longer be using Ductworks. read more

She had no idea where he was and said she couldn't get hold of him, either. How irresponsible could that be? We drove from out of the state to meet him at the house. Quoted around with pic of job completed and others were about 300. less. $140. for an 18" piece of 1/4" copper tube, manually bent and soldered. Yeah, my A/C works but at a much higher cost.
