I stopped my renovation to wait for them to do an energy audit, they did it, then the office manager refused to give me the form to get an insulation rebate filed. There was no question I was eligible for this program in an all-electric home. I had to contact my state representative to get my rebate. AVOID THIS COMPANY. THE OFFICE MANAGER SUCKS. DO NOT HIRE - I felt like they tried to scam me. My central air conditioning went out and I called F&F for a diagnostic after reading their glowing reviews. Don't believe what you read! They inspected my unit, told me my HVAC system's compressor completely failed, described it as the whole system having a "heart attack," and insisted it used a type of refrigerant that is no longer in production, and thus the entire system would need replacing. Then, they charged me the diagnostic fee AND an additional $175 for "Specialized repair including special order parts, equipment, or additional labor" -- none of which they provided!!! I had sleepless night wondering how I could replace the whole system. Before shelling out on a whole new system, I sought a second opinion. Another technician from a different company came out to the property today to inspect the unit. They got it back up and running by simply PLUGGING IT BACK IN. Sadly, they couldn't help diagnose the original problem because the tech from F&F left everything open and disconnected, so there was no way to tell what initially came undone. I really felt like they were looking to take advantage of me (a women) who don't have expert opinions on this type of home maintenance. I'd rate zero stars if I could! read more

HORRIBLE! We made an appointment in May for an AC tune up. They didn't have an appointment for over a month. We waited and waited then a few days before the appointment they called to cancel because a heatwave was coming and they needed all techs available. They didn't offer us another appointment until about a month later. This is where it gets MUCH WORSE. The technician finally comes out for the tune up. It is a young guy (Jack), obviously a new tech. He didn't even know how to open the air handler. Everything checked out ok although it is an older unit, 80 psi. 1.5 days after the technician left, the system stopped working. We had them come back and there was almost zero pressure in the system and they said there is nothing they can do. I had another trusted tech out from a different company and he said FF Hitchcock definitely broke our system. They are either totally incompetent or purposely sabotaged our AC. Hot water heater installed 10 months ago. And after it was installed, they actually sent out another inspector to make sure everything was connected correctly. I was told everything was connected correctly. 10 months later my hot water heater stopped working. I touched the wire it came out of The hot water heater, and it caused a spark. Which, thankfully my neighbor is an electrician and he came over it and he fixed And said whoever installed, this was pretty much an idiot and did not connect the wires nor did they put a plastic cap over it so the wires were left exposed and that was causing the arc. It was probably working for 10 months because The box that the wires were contained in was metal so it was probably completing the circuit. I voiced my opinion to FF Hitchcock and just so you all If you have to deal with Jane, hang up the phone and call someone else. I was explained Anything because my electricity is from the 1970s Which I can accept. However, the system was installed. The system was inspected twice and no one in their company failed to tell me or alert me of any issues with the connection. Beware of these guys! I called them to come out to unclog my kitchen sink. It was $109 just to get the guy here. He takes a look at my sink and says that it seems to be okay. Since he's here anyway I ask him how much it would cost to snake out the line and he quotes me a price of over $800. That's just insane!!! Like all plumbers in this area, they're not inexpensive, but they recently provided prompt, efficient, polite and responsive service in detecting the source of the leak in my downstairs ceiling --pinhole breaks in a portion of a water pipe-- and then replacing the troublesome section. I have worked with the water Dr for years and this was my first off experience , I was charged 169 for them to show up , 2500 for an excavator to dig two holes , and 4000 for them to fix the hole in line which I was never sure if there was ever a hole , they said my pump was broken so they brought out another one , that didn't work so they put in a submersible without asking me first and the pump I purchased from them less than a year ago didn't have a warranty but they are checking on it , and on top of it my well was damaged and broken on the cement lip ! the lines of the wires to the submersible were going to be left exposed without any protection hanging in between the lip and cover of well sitting on the ground and then Through the basement door and he told me not to use my basement door if I don't want to wear out the wires! I have never left a bad review for anyone but I spent too much and don't want to see this happening to someone else read more

Our job was pretty simple: hooking up a new sink, disposal and dishwasher. The tech spent most of the time chit chatting on the phone, and left us with a very sloppy job. The putty around the drain assembly is a mess. Even though he knew what the job entailed, he didn't come with the proper parts, and had to go out in the middle of the service call to buy them. Later that evening, we discovered that he left us with a leak, so they sent the same tech back out to fix it. Turns out he hadn't finished tightening the connections. This is elementary stuff. Shortly after, we discovered that our dishwasher wasn't working properly. It was drawing in waste water from the drain pipe. Turns out that the tech didn't properly hook up the dishwasher either. I ended up fixing that myself. I tried having FF Hitchcock quote another job for me, but they would never respond to my calls or e-mail. Funny that now they're sending me marketing texts in an effort to drum up business. FF Hitchcock is a big waste of time and money. read more

Be very very careful with these guys!!! John came over and tried to charge over $800 to "pump out and inspect" our sewage pump! Ended up still charging over $500 when we called him out on it but that wasn't the worst of it. He Told us we needed a new pump and tank cleaning and quoted us $3,300 dollars! No the pump is not made of gold!! BUT he said they would replace the check valve for free with a new pump (remember this it's important.) He Never took the pump out to actually test it to see if it worked just drained the pit and looked in with a flashlight. Something didn't compute and we weren't born yesterday, so we had a retired plumber friend come over to check it as we didn't want to wait and spend $3300 if we didn't have to. He came over removed the pump and took all of 10 mins to determine it worked fine before putting it back in (I have a video to prove it too!) He then determined it was the (you guessed it) very cheap CHECK VALVE that was the real issue and replaced it in less than 10 mins and everything works great!!! I am so tired of being conned by people you are relying on to fix an issue that they are supposedly experts on at a reasonable price. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SERVICE MEN! THEY ARE EITHER CON MEN OR THEY JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!! (even though I believe he knew EXACTLY what he was doing). Customer BEWARE when it comes to this very poor and I believe DISHONEST company. I wouldn't trust them to install a stopper in my bathroom sink!!! After leaving this review we were contacted by John B who said he is an owner and he apologized for our experience and promptly issued a refund for what we were charged. Had a shower leaking and called them to come diagnose the problem and fix it. First technician made a decision almost immediately that the issue was caulking around the tub and fittings. While they did need caulking, this was not the issue and the leak persisted. That diagnostic cost me close to $300. Second technician came out (no charge for second tech visit) and made another snap decision that it was the drain pipe connection to the tub and quoted me $1,000+ to fix it (included a new drain stop mechanism). What I found very surprising was that neither technician did any diagnostics. I agreed to have the drain pipe repair done, but luckily nobody bothered to call to make the appointment. I ended up fixing the problem myself. Had to open a closet ceiling and the wall behind the shower head. Both a flex connection on the drain line and the PEX connection to the shower head were loose. Tightened the clamp on the flex connector and redid the PEX connection on the shower fixture and now no more leak. I will be redoing our master bath later this year. I know what plumbing service I won't be calling. read more
