So it breaks my heart to say that I will NEVER be back to just breakfast. Me and Wilhelm have been to just breakfast and have sat on the patio away from everyone never had a issue. Today tho some jackass complained that he was with me and even with my service animal badge he said we had to leave. I've been coming here since I was a toddler (maybe early or mid 90s) to the early 2000s, but then I stopped coming for some time, and when I returned a few years ago it made me sad that the food didn't taste the same. Where are the Huevos Burrito with that delicious sauce that goes on top? Why did you remove the hash brown and add rice/beans to the Huevos Mexicanos? No, no, no! Also 4 stars because as a Mexican person, the rice is not good, it tastes old and dry. Do NOT get the rice! The pancakes are a must-try though! I miss the old staff, what happened to them? This current staff is nice, but they need to be more attentive on coffee refills and other stuff. Add the Huevos Burrito back on the menu! read more

Serving were a good size. I was unable to finish my country fried steak even though I was sharing. Food came out quick and service was good. Coffee did it's job and we got to see a regular get served without getting his order out of his mouth. Bathroom is outdoors around the building with key access. I've been here a handful of times and always get excellent service. My husband and I sat at the bar top around 12:30pm. Our server was super peppy and nice. She was quick and checked on us often. We placed our order close to 12:36pm and got out food at 1:10pm. A bit of a wait and we notices people that sat after us for their order first. No big deal we figured maybe our food took longer to cook or something. I usually order eggs Benedict (delicious!)here but today I thought I would try a burger since it was lunch time. The burger was pretty good. It was juicy and a decent size. The fries however were so under cooked they were still close to white in color . They were like floppy tasteless mash potatoes. My husband ordered eggs and ham that came with choice of country potatoes or hash browns and pancakes. He ordered country potatoes but was served hash browns. We didn't want to wait to have it corrected because we were in a time constraint. Our table slip said country potatoes but it's not what we got. My bf had the pancake, bacon, and eggs here. The pancake is perfect and fluffy. Complements so well with the maple syrup and they give out very generous food portions. For their sides, I had the potato salad and country potatoes. I enjoyed both sides and thought they were seasoned very well. Awesome hole in the wall to go to for breakfast. We fed three people with some leftovers to take home after wards for around $60. People were constantly checking in on us, so the service was amazing. It took a while for the food to cook, but we got two omelets, pancakes, some biscuits and gravy, chili cheese and beans, and a meal with chicken and eggs. The buttermilk pancakes were yummy, but they kept falling apart and were fluffy and soft. The biscuits was yummy with a hit of butter, but the gravy was ok. The chili cheese with beans and onions were good and paired well with the omelets. We got the farmer and the summer omelets and both tasted great! read more

Greeted the moment we walked in door and another was on her way to bring coffee. Very nice staff and polite. I ordered an egg sandwich over easy with bacon on toast and super well done hash browns. Very old exterior look but inside it's nice and clean and evidently popular. It's 930 on Wednesday and out of 16 tables 7 at full. The walls are covered with pictures of the customers over the years and I see about 30. Gives it a nice neighborhood touch. Nicely cooked eggs very yolk filled. Hash browns perfectly well done. For those of us who had the pleasure of living in SF, we are all reminded of the GREAT bisquits and gravy you can get at the Pork Store. Since I don't live in SF anymore, this is the place for its substitute!! I ordered a sausage patty with hashbrowns with a side of bisquits and gravy. It was reasonable at around $7 for a large plate (check my attached photos - you're welcome!) and like $2-3 for the side. Also the orange juice is GREAT here. Nothing better than to quench your thirst with some fresh-tasting OJ. Aaahh you're in heaven. I love Just Breakfast and love the charming atmosphere, friendly waitresses and trucker-ish feel. Really enjoyed my breakfast here! My husband, dad, and I really enjoyed our first time here. Pros: Really friendly waitress who took our orders. They always refilled my Dad's coffee. My dad and I ordered the rib eye steaks, and they were delicious. They were cooked exactly how we like them. The hash browns were nice and crispy and cooked all the way. I loved the cute curtains with the roosters on them and how they have so many pictures! Cons: Kinda dirty. The table was very sticky when we sat down. We had to have the cashier/owner? wipe the table down. The people who ate before us left a tip on the table and none of the staff bothered to pick it up! We left it on the table and added ours on top. Very stingy on the napkins. We had to ask for napkins and they only gave one per person! The syrup containers are very sticky, and they only have 3 types of jam packages. The parking is kinda scary. You can't really watch your car unless it's in front of the restaurant. For a hole in the wall restaurant it is pretty good. I recommend if you are sick of IHOP or Denny's. They have all kinds of different breakfast items to choose from. read more

I'm going to give them another try at some point just to be sure, but... * corned beef hash was from a can * hash browns were from a bag * peaches were from a can * flavours were a bit boring * we were addressed as "hon" incessantly. It felt contrived. * the stuffed bench seats were ripped and stuffing was visible, those need to be replaced * feta omelette was an omelette with feta sprinkled on top. That's a bit weird and you don't really get the flavor of feta in the omelette. That said, the service was good and attentive. And the food presented well on the plate. I have better memories of this place in the past so it might be what we ordered. I'm going to give it another shot sometime soon because I do love diners and this is run by good people. read more

The food comes out really quickly too... I got just a regular 2 eggs, toast, hashbrowns, and 4 pieces of bacon (so much bacon..). I got my eggs over medium and when it came out, our waitress told me to check my eggs to see if they were the way I wanted them.. Years ago this became a favorite place to stop while my car was being repaired nearby. It's a casual neighborhood place with a loyal following, warm, outstanding service, and many yummy dishes. My favorite is the breakfast called 2-2-2, in which you get 2 eggs, either 2 sausages or 2 slices bacon, and 2 pancakes. If you request eggs cooked a certain way, they serve you properly cooked eggs. One time I had a waffle covered in whipped cream and strawberries which was wonderful. Their burger is very good, it's assembled with care. The only item that I wouldn't order again is an omelet. It was a small, rather shriveled situation on a plate with little flavor. Given all their other enjoyable dishes and outstanding consistency, I probably was just there on the wrong day. Everything else I've had there is very good. Prices are higher there these days, unfortunately. Still a good place to go if you're in the area. :) read more

Just Breakfast is yellow coffee shop on Monterrey Highway. It's located in a neighborhood surrounded by tire places, auto shops and some rough looking buildings. Just Breakfast, however, is a bit of a misnomer since they also serve lunch. The interior is what you would expect from an old family restaurant or a truck stop. There are several tables and a bar with stools in the back. The menu is the typical options of eggs, omelets, pancakes, breakfast meat, potatoes, etc. I had a decent omelet. It was tasty but the ingredients weren't the highest quality. The potatoes were good. The service is fast and friendly. I got my breakfast in about 5 minutes. It wasn't very busy for a Sunday morning but it wasn't empty either. This is the kind of place where old guys go every morning for their coffee. Definitely worthy of a visit if you want breakfast and you're nearby. I've had better breakfasts elsewhere so I would probably not return unless I was in the neighborhood. read more

I recommend this place simply because it is a slice of life in the valley and life is very percious. Following other post suggestions I went with the biscuits and gravy. It was pretty good. it was bland which I think is a plus. I salt, peppered and Tabasco 'ed it up to my liking. The sausage was good but I wish there was more. The interesting twist here is they put tomato slices in it which rounds out the flavor. It come with 2 bacon slices on top. I ordered an egg on the side which was more over medium than the ordered over easy. The coffee is somewhat stale and weak. It doesn't require condiments so it is not that bad. It is Sunday morning 8am the place started off a 1/3 full and move up to half full as a family showed up. There are 10 or more table tops and a bar. This place is a bit run down the curtains are yellow, red, black stipend with pictures of roosters. There are picture frames with collages of patriots pasted all over the walls. The are rooster plates that adorn the front wall near the ceiling. There are tired ceiling fans sitting dormant. The outside has a bright, hard and friendly look to it. This place is impossible to miss from the road. The waitress is beautiful and attentive. She take a meek approach in conversation though I doubt that is her personality. I wasn't very engaging this morning so others may have a different experience. You pay at the cash register. read more

I usually go to this place in the morning while I have my truck serviced by Calderon Tires and on this particular morning I figure ut was a shot in the dark to walk down there because of the pandemic. To my surprise, they were opened with tables and shading that covered the frobt parking lot area. There waa a wonderful addition to the staff named Alcina and she immediately greeted me and allowed me to sit anywhere. Very nice , professional and down to earth. What impressed me was that she was the only server at the time and handled 5 tables with covid guidelines with grace and patience. Oh and of course..the food was delicious. The wait staff here is absolutely fantastic, especially Megan, Brandy, and Angelica (hopefully I didn't spell that wrong). Their coffee is really awesome. Recommend their breakfast burrito (Rancher's Burrito), add avocado. Check this place out. Not sure how the hipsters haven't overrun the place yet. Came here for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. We just moved to the area and were looking for a good breakfast place closeby. It definitely had a divey feel to it, but I do like dives. I've found some of the best food in dives. However, JB didn't live up to my expectations. First off, the menu was really hard to understand. They tried to cram way too much information in the two pages for breakfast that it took the two of us to make sense of it all and even then we were still scratching our heads. We tried to get some assistance from our server, but she seemed to just want to take our order and go. Mind you, the place was bustling so we figured there must be a reason this place was packed. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of biscuit and my BF ordered the pancake breakfast. The gravy on my chicken fried steak was bland. What was worse was they brought out my biscuit drowning in the same bland gravy. What is it with bland gravy in California? I have never had a good sausage based gravy in the West Coast. My eggs, which I requested to be poached hard, were runny. That was no bueno at all! My boyfriend enjoyed his pancake breakfast. He said the pancakes were tasty and hearty and extra points for the delicious link sausage. However, his joy was short lived when he saw the bill. With coffee, juice and a side of hash browns, our breakfast came to $30+ for 2 people. That stuff adds up fast. We're still hunting for a great breakfast place in the South Bay since Just Breakfast didn't really cut it for us. read more

Alcina and her daughter are Amazing, delightful, and incredibly efficient. The new owners are accessible, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I got the class breakfast eggs and FOUR slices of bacon with extra crispy hash browns and raisin toast. My eggs were overeasy. The bacon slices were thick, meaty, and flavorful. Not like the dinky two slices you would get at any other chain diner. The hash browns were actually extra crispy like I asked. The raisin toast has melted butter on it and was so yummy! My dish was $10.50. My husband got pork chops and Sunnyside up eggs. The has towns were crispy and the pork chops were juicy. He also substituted toast for one fluffy pancake, and yes, it was HUGE and fluffy! New favorite breakfast spot for sure! read more

Oh it's not "Just Breakfast," it's probably one of the oldest breakfast joints in San Jose. I say this because it's located in the middle of Monterey Road where it is surrounded by many industrial companies and old motels. Parking is a little tight but there is street parking upfront. The interior reminds me of a random diner my father took us to. It's got a few tables, chairs, a breakfast bar, and family/friends photos from what looks to be the 80's/90's. Service was fast and friendly. I really like diners that serve coffee when greeted, it's the "home-y" feeling that gets to me. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my S/O ordered biscuits and gravy with two pancakes. My Eggs Benedict was delicious and had so much hollandaise sauce on top (Yum!) The egg was poached so nicely that it melted and soaked onto my huge biscuit. My S/O enjoyed his biscuits and gravy as well, even I had to take a bite off it. Pancakes were nice, fluffy, and came with two heaping spoons of all that buttery goodness. It's a solid 3.5 stars for me. The food was great although the smoke in the restaurant made my eyes watery. The ventilation is questionable. I can literally see smoke inside the restaurant lol. We were given our check after eating. My S/O wasn't sure if our waitress was going to come by and pick up the card or if we were suppose to walk up to the cash register. I would definitely come back though. The place itself is very homey, lots of picture collages of customers on the wall, in frames with designs and notes. We sat down, took a little while for the waitress to take our drink order, and then she came back and took our meal order and realized she never brought the orange juice for my BF. But she was very nice about it. I ordered an omelet, I can't recall the name, but there was ham, bacon, onions, other veggies, as well as a grilled pineapple on top. I asked for country fried potatoes but I ended up getting hashbrowns. I didn't complain though, they were still good (although I would've loved to see how the country fried were). He ordered corned beef hash, with a biscuit and gravy. Just the biscuit and gravy alone was delightful!! One of the best I've ever had. My omelet was good, not extraordinary, but good. My boyfriend killed his corned beef hash, so that must've been good. The portions were ok, the prices were decent, about $9 a plate, coffee was delicious. The waitress herself seemed to be a little... frazzled, almost dropping off food at the wrong tables, then realizing it the second before she places the plate that she's at the wrong table.
