First, I'm not a "greasy spoon" type of eater, but the ol' man is. However, I was sold on this place as soon as we walked in and saw the Patriotic memorabilia and the "Support our Troops" sign. Food was fast, hot, and good. It is heavy like Grandma's southern cooking, and huge portions; don't have any heavy plans for later in the day except maybe a nap. Although it's not my type of food I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality. Service was amazing, almost ridiculously fast, and we never had an empty glass or need unfulfilled. This was my first time here. When we walked in we were not acknowledged for a couple of minutes. When we were seated the waiter came quickly who was super nice! I ordered the "Huevos Rancheros" and my husband ordered the "Cody Combo". When the food came my potatoes were slightly burnt and the salsa they topped the eggs with was not as good as the salsa they give you on the side. It tasted like Pace but with more tomatoes. Mkay, so most Fresnan locals know this place used to be Ho-Jo's - but a few years ago they changed to Jus' Jo's Country Kitchen. Hubs and I hadn't really been up to checking it out (based on previous experience years ago) but...thought enough time had passed, there seemed to be lines all the time, so we figured we'd check it out. Oh holy hell, it is a lifetime away from any previous experience we've had at the prior named establishment. They are BUSY, so take that into account when planning on going there. There will most likely be a wait if you go at peak times. Also, take into account the fact that it's busy, it's not a huge expansive space and there are people there, so....it WILL not be library quiet. Hubs and I have no issues having conversations between us during our meal, however....contrary to other reviews I've read. I can safely review now after having been there many.....many....(many!) times, at different times, with different wait staff. Out of the 20 or more times we've gone, there's only been one semi-non-satisfactory visit and that was due to being overly shorthanded due to a holiday situation, so I get it. Anyway, here's the brass tacks: Average breakfast for Hubs and I consists of: Him: Chicken Fried (Country-fried, either way, don't have a cow about the different terms FFS), hash browns, 2 eggs and your choice of toast or B&G (biscuits & gravy - he always gets sourdough toast) -- or he gets the chile verde omelette, which he LOVES here. Me: I usually opt for corned beef hash, 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, extra crispy and B&G. Lately I've been rather addicted to their Chicken Fried Chicken, 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, extra crispy and you GOTTA get the B&G with the Chicken Fried Chicken. It is DELICIOSO! Perfect. Creamy. Crunchy. Wonderfulness. Note: Our last visit, we also got a side of bacon...totally yummy, great flavor and nice thickness, and crispy (without me having to browbeat someone into making it that way!) Coffee is so good here, and will get your motor running rather efficiently if you're a slow-starter who needs the caffeine. They also give you a choice of plain creamer or flavored...or both if you wish (which we do because creamer). We usually get outta there at around $25 for both of us, which is grand, I believe. (And on weekday mornings, they have KILLER DEALS on their breakfast specials, so be sure to check those out!) The Staff - I gotta say, some of THE hardest working people I've ever known. Locally owned...hasn't been a day we've been there where the owner wasn't on-site and most times in the kitchen when she wasn't walking around, speaking to the patrons and making sure everyone was doing well. (YES some places still do that!) And if you go...ask for Nicole's section because she is BOMB. One of the coolest people on the planet. Great sense of humor and just good, good people. The guys bussing the tables are so on top of things, they keep things moving, and quickly. The kitchen staff has been top-notch! On the 2 rare occasions where i was feeling particularly picky about things, they fixed the small issues I had and were awesome about it. If you have a group, call them ahead to make arrangements so they can accommodate you. They've got tables that will allow for larger groups (8-10-12) but you may wanna give them a head's up if that's in your plan. This was my first time trying this place and the food was great. They were super busy just after 12 on a Saturday and I have never seen so many tables turned over and ready for the next group of people. We sat down and was greeted with drinks seconds later. The food was good and they give discounts for law enforcement, Fresno State students and seniors. The only thing that bugged me was when I walked in the hostess or woman ringing people up conversed with a waitress and even turned, saw me waiting and continued to talk for another minute or two before finally acknowledging me. I was surprised at how small this cafe is. I had heard it was quite popular and could be very crowded. Yes, it is very crowded, and you are elbow to elbow with other patrons. The noise level is so high that you cannot hear your table companions talk. Since the parking lot is huge, there is plenty of parking for the crowd that comes here. As for food, it's standard greasy spoon fare. Nothing special, but lots of it. Serving sizes are enormous which I'm sure is part of the attraction. Service is outstanding. This is the best breakfast restaurant I have visited in the Fresno area thus far. The restaurant itself is quaint with personality. My Nana owns some of the same decors, so it was a nice touch. Service was incredibly prompt, and they give out a discount if you are a Fresno State student, which are added bonuses. I was disappointed that my hash browns were undercooked to my liking but not worth complaining about. Otherwise, the food is quite good (although not gourmet), and it is undoubtedly a place that you can bring your family to. I recommend their Fruity Pebbles waffle! I've been here a few times now, and I always end up ordering a little more than I'm able to eat. This place serves *big* plates of food, and most of it is pretty darn good. I always want to swing by for a platter of biscuits and gravy, because the biscuits are huge and fluffy, and the gravy is super flavorful. My one real complaint is that the hash browns and eggs are always underseasoned. I'm always having to add salt because it doesn't seem like they add any while it's on the grill. read more

We have been coming here for years and I can't believe I haven't left a review for awhile. Angie, her mom and staff feel like family to us as we are always treated like family. Service is always spot on, from the wait staff to the busing staff (shout out to Pete!)! Food is always fabulous. My all time favorites for breakfast are the croissant breakfast sandwich (get it with an over easy egg and don't mind the drippings, it makes it better) and the cinnamon roll French toast. However, whether you like savory or sweet, there are no wrong choices. Try the different sausages. This is never a place where your coffee is empty or cold and you will never walk away hungry or dissatisfied. If there are any bad reviews, it's because you will always encounter people who cannot be pleased or who are just out to post bad reviews. Don't believe the hype! Went this morning for the first time with a group of colleagues to have breakfast. One of my colleagues was approached as we walked in by a wait staff and was asked to put his water flask back into his car because bringing it in was against policy. This embarrassed my coworker whom has a medical condition which requires hydration. We then were seated and they were slow to take our order. The food arrived and, honestly, it was below average yet the prices are above average. We were there to celebrate a birthday when our experience turned even worse. We brought a cake for our colleague and management did not allow us to sing, cut or eat the cake. What restaurant does that?' This was not welcoming, the prices are high, service was bad and the odd restaurant policy's made this experience horrible! There are way better places to eat in Clovis that are welcoming and have good food. I will not recommend this place to anyone that wants to have a pleasant breakfast with friends or family. The wait for food is understandable given how busy this place is. The service here has always been fantastic during each of my visits (including my pre-Yelp years). I don't remember her name, but there was a very sweet woman who called all the customers "hunny." She would check on each of the tables to make sure everyone had everything they wanted; I didn't see her during my visit, though. My friends and I got breakfast here this past Wednesday and we were definitely impressed. Coffee itself was average, but I liked that they offered flavored creamers. Cinnamon rolls are basically my favorite thing on this earth, and this one was pretty good. The icing was great! (I could be biased, because it reminds me of one I make at home.) I also loved how you could add nuts if you wanted. My husband ordered the Brent Burrito. Some kind of breakfast burrito with chorizo and it was really good. Loved this. I went with the Gma's Omelette, but added jalapeños. I was surprised to find out their jalapeños were fresh, not pickled, and I can't say I was mad about it. The omelette itself was delicious and the potatoes with it were great. A friend of ours got hash browns with their meal and they were perfectly golden and crisp. We also tried some biscuits and gravy as our toast option.. The biscuits are soft and huge and the gravy was delicious. We noticed that the restaurant was a little cramped, however the staff seemed to do a really good job of turning tables quickly so the wait wasn't too long. No worry about giving this place a second chance. I don't want to be worried about getting kicked out by the owner of an sit down eating establishment for going over her allotted time. Before the owner of this restaurant proclaims this reviewer is a "grouchy customer" because this eating establishment didn't earn 5 stars, it is best to look in the mirror first. Learn some lessons from other 5-star restaurants and businesses that I have given 5-star ratings and continue to earn my business.
