Jurassic Magic Café is a great spot if you're looking for a spacious coffee shop with a relaxed vibe. I stopped by early in the morning and ordered the Magic Latte--it reminded me of a vanilla latte but with a generous cinnamon kick. Since I arrived right after opening, finding street parking wasn't an issue. If you're visiting later in the day, parking may take a little more patience. The café has plenty of seating, making it a nice place to catch up with a friend or get some work done. I enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back to try more of their drinks. read more

Having enjoyed the Jurassic Magic location in Mid City, I was curious to see how I would find this location located near MacArthur Park. Finding street parking can take some time, but so far I've been able to find spots that are a reasonable walking distance to the cafe. The interior design reminds me of a walking into a small art gallery with a shelve of books on one side of the wall, visible artwork, and small boxy tables with metallic chairs for seating. During each of my visits, there has been one staff person taking orders and making drinks. The employees were friendly, though I could imagine there being a wait for drinks when there is a lengthy line. The espresso-based drinks I've had were well-made, and I found a good spot to read or linger for a while. read more

Not my first time to Jurassic Magic as I have been a fan of its Mid City's one. So knowing they're having another outlet surely excited me especially this one carried just different ambience. To my surprise it wasn't that busy on Sunday, making it easy to find a seat and the service was also speedy. I got their signature cold brew with vanilla syrup and almond milk. We found parking easily during the day and felt perfectly fine. I ordered the Spanish latte which tasted delicious. It is basically a standard chai coffee and hit the spot. It would be a lie if I said that I happened to stumble across this cafe, since I actually waited for 3 months for this place to open. Its a fairly unnoticeable cafe; its tucked inside a historical building and next to a letterpress store. The inside is fairly big with ample seating, nice space to gather with a group of two or three to lounge and talk. The coffee is good. I got the latte with almond milk and I liked it. I'll definitely have to come back and try the specialty drinks on their menu. Parking can be a bit tough since it is street parking but on any given weekday, its not that bad. The neighborhood is a bit rough though, so definitely be on the lookout. read more

This is one of the few coffee shops in the neighborhood and that is counting the big chain coffee shops. The coffee shop is located in a historic building now called Westlake Square building in which it has intricate molding all around the building and hand drawn roof. When you step in, you are immediately enter the sitting area and to your right you see the ordering station. They offer a good amount of drink selections and pastries. The staff is nice and on top of welcoming new customers when they walk in. I ended up ordering the Magic latte which was delicious. Looking forward to coming back! read more

Came in on a Friday midday and was empty. Love the vibes of this spot!! Glad they were able to open another location closer to downtown. I really like that they offer such a variety on their menu. I think it's really insane I wasn't able to tip the barista when I came in. It made me feel really uncomfortable. I am in the service industry and I have never experienced going to a coffee shop where I cannot tip. came in earlier this morning and the poor barista was all by herself. she had a long line and it seemed like her voice was gone . She was very attentive , made an amazing cup of coffee , and gave the best service i've ever been given. i asked her if she would be getting a break soon and she said she wouldn't because they work 8 1/2 hours all by themselves with no breaks, insane!! And to top it all off she isn't even allowed to accept tips. Horrible work environment for a barista so great.
