First off I want to start by saying our server Raymond was the best. He had a great personality and was cracking jokes with us from the jump. He was attentive but not over bearing and was super helpful with recommending drinks to my mom and I. I would give him 10 stars if I could- y'all need to give him a raise! I also have to comment on the atmosphere and ambiance- the design concepts in this restaurant are well thought out and engaging. It was a lovely immersive experience. Now on to the food- it was meh. I could've made the bolognese so much better in my own kitchen- the sauce was watery and unimpressive. The mussels were tasty but the chunks of ground meat in it were odd. The squash was nice and had a surprising curry/ turmeric flavor- but the mozzarella cheese on top threw me off. I know it's more of a cocktail bar, but the menu could be better and the food itself needs to be amped up. I would go back for Raymond and the cocktails but that's about it. read more

I've been here a few times and I just love the atmosphere!! You really need to get reservations when coming here because it can be rare to just walk in even if you are just wanting to get a drink at the bar. The florals and whole decor is so amazing. They took so much time decorating all this. I got a mocktail and I really liked it. Yes, $10 is a lot for a mocktail but it was more the atmosphere that you are also paying for. The brunch buffet had almost anything anyone could want; salad, fruit, salmon, eggs, sausage, shrimp & grits, short ribs and an omelette bar made to order. Then, there are the desserts. Absolutely amazing. Whatever your heart desires, you'll find it. The atmosphere is incredibly unique. The snow flocked trees and gorgeous decor was like nothing I'd ever seen. The views of downtown Greenville are fabulous. The only negative is even though the enclosed patio area has some heating, it was still very cool even with jackets where we were seated. I wish my experience had been more positive, but sadly it wasn't. My wife, friends, and I made a reservation a week in advance for 7:45 p.m., as that was the earliest available time. We thought it would be perfect to avoid traffic and enjoy the sunset. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but we were seated outside in the farthest corner on a small balcony table which was extremely hot and humid. Poor view of the scenery and my wife is pregnant, so sitting outside in the heat made it more uncomfortable for her. It was also hard to talk when it was extremely loud from people talking and music. We politely asked if we could move inside, but our server responded rudely, saying it would be a two-hour wait. (Ironically, when we left, the indoor dining area was basically empty). Anyways...It took about 20 minutes just to place our order. The table seemed designed for drinks rather than dinner, you couldn't comfortably eat something like a steak without practically balancing the plate on your lap. Since none of us drink, sitting at what appeared to be a cocktail table wasn't the dining experience we had expected. While they tasted good, the portions were tiny and overpriced (not enough for one person yet alone 4 adults). Our server later offered one complimentary dessert for the table as an apology, which we appreciated, but we were hungry and annoyed. After waiting an hour, we assumed we needed to pay at the front, we got up to leave, only for her to rush over mid way and tell us we had to pay through her. Before processing the payment, she made a comment about the complimentary dessert that came across as though we should feel obligated to leave a larger tip because of the $13 dessert. Overall, if you're looking for a relaxing sit-down dinner with great service and food that matches the price, I would recommend spending your money elsewhere. After hours cocktails for 4 I had been looking forward to our visit to the rooftop bar during our stay in Greenville. Originally, I made a reservation for 8:30, but due to a delayed dinner, I had to reschedule it to 10:30. I called and called and called the listed number with no answer, so I had to make this adjustment through the Resy app. We walked over from our hotel and found the entrance on the side of the AC hotel . We took the elevator up to the top floor and immediately started snapping some pictures. Instagrammable pic options are everywhere.  We approached the hostess counter and advised we had a reservation.  We were seated relatively promptly; however, once seated, we were somewhat neglected. The person who had seated us failed to return to take our drink orders. I had to go back to the hostess counter and let her know that we were waiting a long time for our server.  She followed up on it and a new server finally showed up.  We expressed our disappointment with the service and placed our drink orders.  We ordered a couple of rounds, snapped some more pictures, including some in the outside seating area, and then decided to leave. The ambiance of the establishment was very impressive, but regrettably, the slow slow service left much to be desired. And don't even try to show up without a reservation. read more

Came here for breakfast after locals advised that the food was subpar but wanted to be my own judge. Asked the waiter for recommendations and I already felt like there was not a thing on the menu they liked. Ordered the chicken sausage bagel, French toast, and the juniper special as a group. Not one thing was good! Felt like I was at a complimentary Holiday Inn breakfast. I had to ask for salt and pepper and even ketchup which I don't normally eat to doctor up my meal! I just don't understand how you can mess up simple breakfast. It's not like the menu had extravagant recipes. Everything was dry and unseasoned. The home fries only had garlic on them and the chicken sausage bagel tasted like they microwaved a patty and put it on an untoasted bagel. Prices are as expected for great food and service and I highly recommend it for everyone looking for a beautiful space for a special meal. I LOVED Juniper now let me get specific: the drinks and appetizers were a 10. We got the focaccia (some of the best I've had) and the Asian style shrimp appetizer which were both awesome! I also got to try two of their drinks and they were both awesome but a little pricey. The entrees on the other hand were decent but I wish I would've tried the lamb sliders instead of the steak. The steak was nothing special. I would 1000% go back! I recommend Juniper for a fun date or girls night and sharing apps is the way to go! Juniper was an absolutely spectacular experience! It's a rooftop of the AC motel. The restaurant is such a total vibe and very Instagram worthy. The beauty of the decor is just breathtaking. This typically my go to place but this week I was approached by a worker (Rebecca) while sitting at the bar drinking my drink and she said "did anyone tell you guys we closed at 10:30?" My husband took me to Juniper on Friday night. We made reservations and we were seated immediately. First of all...it was a very enchanting journey from the downstairs lobby to the top floor. The entrance downstairs...was decorated with FLOWERS! And the elevator is a painted mural. The main entrance was...you just have to experience it yourself (or you can look at the pictures attached). But it's BEAUTIFUL!!! We had a window seat which overlooked the city. Our server was courteous, helpful and she had a great personality. Juniper is known for is large selection of Gin! I'm not a heavy drinker but I ordered a chocolate martini only because I've never tasted gin before. We ordered Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer and my husband ordered a drink called "caught in the rain" which he enjoyed (I wanted to taste but it had pineapple in it and...I'm allergic ). Husband ordered the Southern Chicken and I ordered the Cajun Spiced Salmon. Our food was good! Since the appetizer was so large, we ate Brussels Sprouts with our meal. Around 7:30 or 7:45 we were graced with live music! A violinist played and a young Beyonce-ish young lady sang...and it was lovely! Loved the rooftop restaurant here!!! We were seated outside and the view is absolutely beautiful at night. The weather may be cooler but we were enclosed and the heated lamps made it very comfortable that you forgot you were outside. Our group of 20 had various tapas from spicy shrimp, focaccia, heirloom tomatoes, chicken tingas and buffalo cauliflower as well as yuca fries. Everything was delicious and my cocktail of choice was " Is It the 90s?" which was delicious and sneaks up on you. This is a beautiful ambience instagram aesthetic type place. Beautiful venue on top of hotel downtown with some great views from their big windows and outside patio. It's definitely more of a bar than restaurant- their cocktails are great and creative. The food was more small plates style and didn't blow us away for the price. The exception is that we did really enjoy the rosemary focaccia bread and butter, that was very good. Overall you're paying for the atmosphere and the vibe. Really cool for a date night or girls nite or drinks after dinner or celebration etc. Not a family friendly type vibe definitely more adult. My favorite aspect is how they always decorate for each season and it's truly gorgeous! We've been in each season and it's always great. Service wise is usually good but on our last visit the hostess was pretty rude- just not friendly and kind of had a bit of an attitude. But everyone has their off days! The elevator lobby is mirrored on one side, doubling the reflection of hanging crystals from the ceiling. Once you exit the elevator, you feel like you've been transported into an elevated tropical paradise. Their specialty is gin-based cocktails, as hinted by the bar's namesake. The drinks we ordered were well-prepared, flavorful, and cleverly presented. The night we went, there was live music and the vibe was energetic, but not painfully noisy. Feels like walking into a fairy tale exploring juniper. Every corner of this place is designed and decorated beautifully. The space is exquisite. The food is fabulous and the drinks are extremely special as well. If you're looking for a dining or drinks "experience" this is IT!! The best one in Greenville. However, if you're looking for a quick bite or somewhere to enjoy a nice sit down meal, this may not be the best fit. Especially if you can't appreciate the design. It is very much set-up as a place to socialize and sip versus grab a normal meal you would find anywhere else in Greenville. It would be nice if they could provide both, but the prices are a bit steep for the area. $18 for a cocktail beats even my "major city drinking experience" costs. But truly, even with the higher prices and small menu, it is worth seeing and experiencing, at least once. Especially if you're heading in and out of town as a visitor. I made a reservation for Valentine's Day about a month and a half in advance. Unfortunately, the restaurant cancelled our reservation without warning or proper notification. I only received an email that got buried, mostly because I wasn't expecting to have to look out for that email. I did reach out to the restaurant, and they explained the situation and offered a new time slot with their prefixed menu, but unfortunately we weren't able to work around that time. Im beyond disappointed that my reservation was dumped the way it was, but the people managing the social media were understanding and helpful. Gorgeous aesthetics, good but overpriced drinks, ehh food. Let's face it, this is a place to be seen and show off on social media. The restaurant is beautiful with over the top decor that just screams, "take my picture!" You need reservations if you want to drink here or you'll wait anywhere from 30 minutes and up. If you get reservations however I would be specific about where you want to sit. We were sat right next to the bar in a very busy walk through area. At 6:15 with a half full restaurant this was not the ideal place to sit. The drinks are really good and also put on a show. The food was ok. We got the bread which was a thicker focaccia bread. It came with 3 spreads which wasn't nearly enough for the amount of bread. Our waitress was nice but didn't seem to want to be there or really cared about service. Overall I wouldn't suggest Juniper for anything other than a drink to check out the restaurant and then find somewhere else to go. The cocktails vary between $14-$25 and food is just as high. It's a very expensive view but worth it if that's what you're looking for. read more

It is always a five-star experience a juniper. I have been several times! I take all my friends there when they come visit from out of town. The ambiance is fantastic. It feels like you're on a lux patio are greenhouse my florals hanging everywhere. Somehow they have aced the science of miss matched Decor still being able to flow together. The cocktails are always perfect I love a Mezcal old fashioned! My favorite part is the secret garden ! Such a fun place to grab drinks before or after dinner. Watched a table with no food , no drinks and two guys vaping with outside drinks hang out for 20 minutes until I had to ask them if we could change tables so we can order food. 5 out of seven members in our party ran out of drinks and we had to find server to reorder. 7:30 reservations and dinner order was not taken until 8:50 after having to have one on one with our server. The cocktail drinks range between $12-$16 and the food is more expensive so if you look at just that factor then yes it would be but looking at the kind service, attention to detail, in house entertainment, and overall atmosphere then it's not overpriced.
