Went here for the first time yesterday and loved it! They have plenty of outdoor seating and everything is spaced out nicely. Staff wears masks at all times too. The staff here is extremely friendly and very attentive! Atmosphere, cocktails, and food were all fantastic. The drinks come in fun glasses and are strong and delicious. They have a big rum selection. We had the plantain fritters which were so good. Dense but also light somehow, and the sauce was great. We split a cubano which we both enjoyed. The bread was just okay but the meat and sauce slapped. The whole place was fairly intimate lighting with fun tiki decorations that did not feel kitschy. Our server was nice and helped us pick a rum to try from the rum list. Awesome little tiki bar with great food! The drinks were all great and definitely want to go back and try some more of their concoctions. Super friendly wait staff and we went early enough that it wasn't too weird having our one-year old with us (although it's loud with dim lighting, so keep that in mind if you're bringing a kid). We just got drink from here because their wasn't many other places open. My drink was expensive and not that great, specifically because it had coconut juice on it. I am not much of a drinker let alone one to go out to a bar to just drink. So I had to look up the drink to see what it had in it. When I heard that the same people behind Arcana opened a new tiki bar, I knew I had to go. This is such a fun place if you are looking for creative and awwww inspiring cocktails. It is pure entertainment. When you walk in you may have to put your name on a list or wait a bit for a table. Every time I have some, this place is packed. It isn't the biggest place and it is ever so popular! I want to come back and try the food, but I can tell you the drinks are top-notch. Every cocktail is served in a fun silly tiki glass, from a big conch to a tiki man. Some of the cocktails they light on fire, some are as big as your head. We came here and were seated right next to a table of 2 women and 1 man. The girls were annoyingly loud the entire time that even my wife and I could not hear each other. The only thing we liked were the drinks. We each had a painkiller. My wife said her shrimp was bland and I had tenders and fries which were separate. The fries were great. The tenders not so much it doesn't specify on the menu about it being white and dark meat tenders. I just don't like the taste of the dark meat. I never have. Our server was kind enough to take it off after my wife said something. I was embarrassed. I even asked if it should've tasted how it did and the waitress said she doesn't eat meat. I would come back yes but only for drinks and only when it's less crowded cause this place is not big at all. I hated that we were sat at the same table with such obnoxious people. other thing too is they add an additional charge at the bottom because they don't pay their staff enough so we have to make that up. read more

I had been meaning to try out this new bar for a while and was excited when a few friends and I got the chance to this weekend. They were busy but we got a table right away. It has a fun tropical vibe without being corny or over the top. There were a surprising amount of people wearing Hawaiian print/tropical shirts and I couldn't tell if that was a coincidence or if I had missed a memo about what to wear. I ordered a piña colada and I've read lots of people don't think the drinks are strong enough, but that is not a problem with this one in particular. It also comes in a cute coconut milk can. My friend got one of the top tier drinks in a cool glass and lots of interesting ingredients. She was not overly impressed. For food we had the coconut rice (not as exciting as I had hoped. I felt the flavors didn't go that well), the jerk chicken (flavorful and juicy) and our absolute favorite; the curry yam fries with a delicious mayo sauce. We liked the fries so much that when our third friend joined us, we convinced him to order them as well so we could have more. I'd go back to bring people who haven't been before, for the novelty aspect. For those with sensitive hearing, be warned it is loud in there. Loud music and people shouting to be heard over it. I work downtown and have heard the same thing from several people; the atmosphere isn't what I expected. I expected a bar with the name "jungle" to have a bit more of a tropic vibe. More plants (fake or real), some color, and a bit more comfort. They have some work to do with their drinks. We paid $30 with tip for two drinks that barely had any alcohol. They overload the drinks with ice. No joke, I went in sober, ordered my drink, and literally got about 5 sips out of my straw before it was gone. I felt a bit upset. I love a good cocktail, and have been many places in town. You're better off going to Japango or Eureka and getting double the drink for your money. I will certainly give this place another try, and want to give the benefit of the doubt since they are new. The artistry and flavor is still great, they just need to step it up a little and quit penny pinching when it comes to a hand crafted cocktail! read more

The mango pork slider was delicious, the curried yam fries with spicy mayo were so good a second round was unavoidable and the Jamaican beef patty offered the perfect mix of crisp crust and tasty beef center with a refreshing, crunchy slaw. This was my first visit. I loved the decor, felt like all that was missing was the beach. Jake was great, he gave us great service, but was not our server. The bartender, our server, may have been having a bad night, or maybe this is his MO? He gave us burned plantains and wasn't super responsive to any request even though we were ordering from him at the bar. $8 plantains should not be served like this. Many of their drinks contain nuts, so if you have a nut allergy, this is not the place to go. Bar tending staff is not skilled enough to make modifications off the cuff to accommodate nut allergies. I do truly enjoy this new addition to the Pearl street craft cocktail movement! I ordered the "Au Revoir, Felicia" to start and loved this island take on the classic Negroni. To follow up I switched to their slightly cheaper classics menu and got the Zombie. Both cocktails hit the mark. My favorite part of the bar is the history incorporated into the menu. Each "Originals" drink has the inspiration pasted below for you to read and help influence the decision. The "classics" have the time and person who helped make the drink famous! My reasoning for the 4/5 review is the fact that some of the pricing on food just doesn't quite add up. I paid $8 for what felt like 5 pieces of grocery store shrimp in the shrimp cocktail and while the Luau pork sandwich was pretty fire, it was $12 with no fries.
