So far, I really enjoyed this place. The staff was friendly, and the owners were very nice. It was just me and one other person. We ordered the green beans, soup dumplings, Szechuan beef noodle soup, and beef skewers. For dessert, we had the cheesecake tart and the sesame seed dessert. Everything tasted fresh and came out in a timely manner. The space is small but cozy. If you want Chinese dim sum in Bakersfield and don't want to drive out to LA, this is a good option. We shared the plates family-style. The soup was flavorful, and the beef was very tender. The flavors of the dishes felt balanced overall. I was not a huge fan of the beef skewers, but I still enjoyed them. The soup dumplings were very good. The total for the meal was around $60 for the amount of food we ordered. They are amazing. From the service to the food. The staff is always friendly and work at a fast pace. It is small with only 4 tables but it's worth the wait. Id suggest getting there 10-15 minutes early to guarantee a table, if not order to go. Their food does not disappoint. We've tried if not all, most of their dishes. I would like to update my review of Jun Barbecue. There was a significant difference in the food this time around. I truly believe it is the closest to authentic Chinese food that you can find in Bakersfield. Everything was delicious, especially the spicy beef noodle soup, which features the Szechuan numbing spice that is absolutely delightful. It has a type of heat that is spicy but not overpowering, allowing you to still enjoy the other ingredients in the soup. The soup dumplings were filled with plenty of broth, and you could tell they were homemade. The shrimp dumplings were also delicious, along with the shumai. Must try this little place!! Authentic and delicious. My daughter gave it a 5/ 5 stars. The dumplings tasted so fresh and juicy it's a must have! Sticky rice and chicken in my opinion needed more chicken the beef skewers so good! Very flavorful and tasty. I have been here few times and always sold out of phoenix claws if you want the beef noodle soup call in advance it takes a long time but it's pretty good and the chunks of beef so good. The Bao buns delicious so fluffy and made to perfection. The place is very very small but the staff is so attentive and friendly checking in on us. Last time I ordered to go and while I was standing waiting I was offered a chair to sit from the from the girl taking orders. 4/10/2026 my husband and me stopped by today and actually went into the restaurant and ordered the pork with egg and spinach. My husband ordered the lamb with rice. Both very delicious. We took home every Dim- Sum on the menu. The restaurant was full of people. Good dim sum is so hard to come by. Who knew I'd find it at a farmer's market in Bakersfield? They had all the good stuff: xiao long bao (soup dumplings), shu mai, bbq pork bun, har gow, chicken sticky rice, gyoza, egg custard bun. I went around 1:30pm (the farmer's market closes at 2pm) so they were limited on what they still had left. I was able to try the shu mai and they were perfect! They were shrimp and pork and came with a spicy dipping sauce. I hope I can go back to get some more! read more

To my knowledge, Jun BBQ is the closest place in bakersfield that has dim sum type of food. I would recommend getting it if you're craving dim sum and the food is decent but it is pretty expensive (as they don't have competition here and it's hard to get Asian ingredients) I'd recommend Jun BBQ to fix your cravings but I wouldn't go on a regular basis (for both pricing and taste) read more

Got lucky and caught them at a not so busy time. Menu is straight forward and also there was a special menu on a whiteboard leaning on the register when you first walk in so be sure to check it out! I went for it. Today is garlic sprouts with a choice of pork or chicken. I asked what they recommend (always do this people!!) And pork was the way to go. Because I frequented their booth at the weekend Produce markets in the Northwest and Southwest, I naturally drifted to their new restaurant in downtown. If you are into authentic Chinese Dimsum and don't wanna make the drive to LA or the Bay Area, this will satisfy your cravings. Located in downtown behind the post office off of G Street. It is at the edge of a strip of small eateries. The place is quaint, clean, cozy and modern. Not the typical Chinese restaurant. Not a lot of space. Essentially more of a takeout place. Service was excellent. We did not have to call the waiter for anything. Our needs were anticipated. We had the spicy green beens, the lamb and beef skewers, shumai, phoenix claws, and egg tarts. Everything was amazing. The green bean entree was a delicious surprise..spicy, nutty, umami. It had an addictive spiciness that paired well with the steamed rice. The skewers had a unique dry rub that made the barbecue an interesting flavorful experience. The shumai was an umami flavor bomb. The Phoenix claws were tender with just enough spice. A treat that cannot be found anywhere else in Bakersfield. And the egg tarts were classic. The food gives Chinatown Dimsum vibes in Bakersfield. Worth the queue and parking challenge. I'm a normal visitor to the Haggins Oak farmers market and was pleasantly surprised to find this booth this weekend. They had a decent menu of options. I decided to try the soup dumplings and the egg custard buns. 8 dumplings for 15. Good flavor of the soup and plenty of meat filling. The egg custard buns were piping hot. My masseuse recommended this Chinese Restaurant. I woke up today and lazy to cook so I ordered online. My food got delivered within 30-40mins. I was so excited to eat! My orders all came with a sauce and a chili sauce. The pork buns were soft and fluffy. The skewers were tasty and portions were kind of same as a yakiniku. The soup dumplings were really good but I think the soup dried out(?) since there were not any broth inside the dumpling. The egg tarts are flaky and not that sweet which for me hits the spot. And lastly, the sticky rice with chicken which is my fave. The flavours complement each other. The taste of the chicken is not too overpowering and it's already shredded which is pretty easy to eat with the sticky rice. I think the leaves used to cover the sticky rice and chicken also adds flavour. read more
