We (3 of us) dined tonight at Julio's. My advice to others check your bill very closely- they added a 20% tip automatically. At the bottom of the tab was a blank line for tip and suggested amounts for tip (10-15-20) for additional tip - double dipping!!! BS for sure. The food was average. read more

Absolutely fabulous food. Reasonably priced and many menu choices. Our group tried various tacos and burrito Pastor. We all found our choices delicious. So pleased to see Horchata and Agua Frescas on the menu. We hope to get back there for breakfast before we leave the area to try the huevos rancheros. Julio is very friendly and helpful. The sort of place and food I'm betting would be very comforting in ski season. Highly recommend. read more

Julio the owner is a total CREEP of a person. He was our waiter, unfortunately. First off they charge for cold stale chips. They then charge for refills! Julio was rude and condescending the whole time, I have no idea how he can run a business without getting into a lawsuit. He then spit on the check when we didn't leave a tip for him because of the terrible service. This is our "go to" restaurant for breakfast or lunch burritos. Everything tastes fresh and is made to order. I've thought of ordering tortas but I've seen others order them and they are huge. There is no way I could eat even half a torta. This is a small family run business and I was very happy to see them open up in this great location. We have only done take out so I can't comment on wait service. It really isn't that kind of place. Their guacamole is divine, but sometimes they only have avocado. In any event, we've been there at least 20 times and plan to go back at least at many more. Make sure you call first if it's a Sunday evening or mud season. If it's slow, they close early. read more

Very small place. At the time we visited it was very busy. I ordered 3 soft drink. After ordering my waiter brought me two mugs and a bottle of Coke. When I asked he told me officially they serve Pepsi products but serve Coke on the side. They were out of burgers and didn't offer regular ground taco beef. Our waiter didn't put our order in after ordering. As a result every other group in the restaurant was served before us. We waited for 45 min. The waiter came out laughing to tell us they were out of cheese! We informed him that we were leaving and wanted to pay for the drinks. The owner wanted us to pay for half of our food that was ready but haven't been served. He threatened to call the cops on us. Skip this place! Drive a little further down the road for some good food! read more

I had a hand held chorizo breakfast burrito. Can't say that I tasted any chorizo at all. The burrito was good sized, but for over $7 with tax, it was not worth it. I give it a 3 for taste, and a 1 for price. I was not impressed. read more

We were so disappointed! They weren't friendly. Felt like we were disturbing them. They charged for a tiny tablespoon guacamole that was so spicey and thin like water. So let's move onto food. I had a simple quesadilla and they put it on top of the beans. The bottom of tortillas were wet....ugh! My husband said fish tacos were just OK. Too tired for a dinner out after a day of travel/skiing. Found Julio's for takeout back to the hotel. Maybe A-OK isn't quite good enough. Could be I'm a fan. There on a Saturday - had tamales. Not bad. I wondered if they would have been better without the 1o minutes to the hotel. The masa had a great flavor, but was a little firm. The fillings - cheese and jalapeno in one and pork in the other - were good and flavorful. At $1.39 each - they were a great value. Tasted good-filling-cheap. Also ordered a quesadilla. Pretty standard. The Pastor filling was very good. Came with rice and beans. A ton of good food for the price - around $8. Nice sides of rice/beans. The rice was fine. The beans were quite good. Topped with queso fresco. Ordered chips - they were fried to order and fabulous! Slightly greasy, nicely salted, great flavor to the oil. My husband used to get breakfast burritos from them whem they were in the Conoco. He loved them! If we were here another day, we'd go back! read more

This place is a perfect spot for a great Mexican food. I had lunch with my family and was really impressed by the quality of food. All the dishes I sampled were super fresh and had that crisp refreshing taste sometimes missing from other Mexican food restaurants. This is a small family restaurant that is easy to hop into when you are in the area. Why can't I leave 0 stars? I'm not sure who wrote all the good reviews, but they must be employees or friends/family of employees. Horrible service and no one gives the same info. When asked about the size of margarita glasses, we were shown 3 different sizes. However, small and medium margaritas are served in the same size whiskey glass but apparently the medium includes 3 extra shots (yeah right) of tequila. In an 8oz cup filled with ice, 4 shots of tequila would have filled the glass without any margarita mix. The waitress showed us the glass sizes and then argued with the bartender after we questioned the size, asking if the small actually came in a shot glass. The waitress then came back and spouted about the 3 extra shots, but didn't say a thing when addressed about the sizes shown. I must say they have the best tasting water, if that's possible. Food tasted microwaved at best and is definitely not "authentic." Perhaps if you spent a lot of time at the dispensary upstairs, the munchies would make this place tolerable. If you're looking for something that you can't make at home, go elsewhere. read more

After reading the recent reviews for this place, I figured we could not go wrong...boy, was i mistaken! We were seated at a filthy table, waited for a long period of time and had to ask for chips, salsa and water. The portions we ordered were small and tasteless. When I was done eating, I used the sole bathroom and found the trash can to be severely overflowing with used paper towels all over the floor...and the toilet paper roll was down to the cardboard core. read more

Margaritas were good but had an aspartame flavor. The mole was excellent. Mild salsa was bland and hot salsa was crazy hot.

Banging burritos. Terrific tacos. Marvelous margarita. Ben cried because hot was actually hot. They have beer.

We ordered take out food. Don't! They will forget or put out a low quality food. We ordered over $100 of food and received $50. The chicken fajitas were bland, tasteless and forgettable. The plates said they came with beans and rice...when asked where they were, we were told the rice & beans were in the food. The manager almost laughed in our face when asked about it. Requested chips & salsa, never received. It is the little things that make a restaurant the place to go, especially since this may not be a local place for you. Not recommended. read more

Had lunch here last weekend. We were hungry but it was also mid afternoon and we did not want to fill up for dinner. The place was a mess. The bar was merely a place for the waiter to store picked up drinks. The bathroom was pretty bad and the booth felt like it had bottomed out years ago. I had the rellano, which was good. My wife had the $7 guacamole that was no bigger than 1 cup. Had to pay for chips and salsa. The marg was watery and lacked spirit. read more

This place has terrible service. The one older waiter is very rude. He got multiple orders wrong, and refused to replace an order where someone accidentally ordered something they were allergic too, and then made us pay for the meal we didn't eat. I've been eating Julio's fish tacos for years. Love his new location next to Alco's. Same great food with more additions (chile rellenos). Love the new setting with comfortable tables and soft Mexican music in the background. View of the continental divide. Nice family run restaurant. My fave in the Fraser valley. read more

We had a wonderful dinner at Julio's on one of the busiest holiday nights in the valley. Yes, they were out of a few things from the menu but the crowds were huge. We were treated courteously and offered shots of tequila (love the hoof) because our dinners were slightly delayed, but they followed quickly. The chicken enchiladas were wonderful wi a tangy tomatillo sauce. Food was so good we went back tonight and again, good service and excellent food. Julio is a gracious host! read more

Horrible customer service. Out of ground meat, hamburgers, cheese and then rude. Expensive and nasty. They use mozzarella cheese. What Mexican restaurant uses pizza cheese. Gross. read more

I feel like I have to give some props to Julio, big props. Almost every Friday night for the last four years or so, we have gone to Julio's for burritos. In other words, Julio has cooked for me every Friday night when I'm bone tired, hungry and just unable to cook. Not only is it part of our weekly routine, it's just awesome. we have two kiddos and live in Grand Co. and we love this place. It just needs to be said. Go to this place, everything we have ever had is pretty great. Do not skip the micheladas in the summertime! read more
