Parking can be a little crazy. Luckily for my friend, this was not a parallel parking situation. The shop is right over the bridge when you come into Shelton, but you need to take a trip around the block to get to the parking area. Once you park, you head toward the bridge and walk up the sidewalk to the shop. Once in, you will see a counter with a menu board for ordering. The shop is small and only offers two bistro tables in the window. The seating is very tight, bigger people might have a problem getting comfortable. We were fortunate enough to snag a table on this visit. The food is offered to go or dine in. The portions are large and the pricing is reasonable. The default way of cooking the pierogi is fried. If asked they offer it other ways, but try it fried. You won't be disappointed. There were many flavors offered but I went more traditional with the 3 pierogi (sauerkraut and mushroom), kielbasa and sauerkraut . My friend got the 6 pc Buffalo Chicken. Both were very good. I had leftovers that I would've been able to enjoy if my son hadn't gotten to them first! I plan to go back soon. I can't wait to try other flavors, maybe even a sweet one. My only wish would be for a larger seating area. I know that my family would love this place.

Everything was delicious and fresh. There's plenty of parking next-door to the restaurant. Our potato and farmers cheese makes for a great treat or as a side dish for a main meal course.

Food is from the mountainous region of Poland. If you like Polish cuisine, this place would…read moreinterest you. The menu requires some knowledge of Polish food with some offerings being familiar while others may require some exploration. We were two couples dining on a weekday evening. Two people had plum stuffed pork which was very good, one had the pork loin and broccoli which was also good. I had the schnitzel which was not to be confused with German or Austrian schnitzel. It was two small loaves of a mix of beef and pork which resembled more of a meatloaf. It was a bit bland but satisfactory. It came with mashed potatoes. Several sides of Polish sauerkraut, beet salad, and what appeared to be a fermented carrot salad were included. We shared an appetizer platter of pirogies, kielbasa, and something I couldn't identify, but it was all very tasty. This is not BYOB because they have a full bar. The ambiance has a Bavarian flavor and is squeaky clean and neat. The food is hearty and flavorful im what I would describe as peasant style. The service is excellent as they seem to want you to have a good experience. Reservations are required on weekends.

It was my time to expose my friend group to Polish cuisine, and boy is this the place to do it! We were immediately greeted by the authentic decor, furniture, and outdoor space of a Highlander restaurant in Poland. The furniture is hand carved and there are outfits and decorations straight from the motherland. You feel like you are in your grandmother's home- and in a good way! There is something to look at and admire around every corner. Our waitress was so welcoming and patient while we decided on a variety of orders. She greeted us with a warm smile, gave us plenty of time to select from the menu, and provided top-notch recommendations. The food - don't get me started. This is as good, if not better, than what I eat in Poland. We tried soups (the żurek- sour, but not overwhelming, well presented in a bread bowl, and with delicious boiled egg- and the red barszcz- a tangy beet soup), a "sampler platter" with gołąbki (mini stuffed cabbage with tomato sauce for pouring to your liking), and grilled kielbasa. We also opted for the rye bread, lard, and half sour pickles. Sounds odd, but don't knock it till you try it! It's not what you expect, very rich and filling. For my entrée, I had a thinly sliced breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes on the side and "mizeria" (Polish side salad with cucumbers, dill, and sour cream). It was so fresh and light. I loved it because it reminded me of summers with my grandma. The drinks were colorful, well presented, and strong! Definitely worth their $12+ price. Overall, this spot is a hit. There is plenty of parking on the street or across the street at the library. Everything from the service, ambiance, presentation, to the freshness and taste of the food was top-notch. This is the spot to visit if you want real Polish food. We will be coming back!

If you were there in the past year (& if you'd never tried their Polish food before) .. you may have been disappointed ( as I was) as they were temporarily using a local vendors foods. It was nowhere near as good as what Pulaski has always made & thankfully, they are back to making their own!! We spoke with Rachel, a very sweet lady who came out of the back to see how we liked everything... I told her only 1 complaint.. the foods just a little TOO good! Lol Rachel makes the pierogi & golumbki & does an excellent job at both! Our waitress ( sorry I can't remember her name) was also great & apparently she makes the kapusta, which was also very tasty. The dining room is clean though dated, however the bar is on the other side & completely done over & appears they did a nice job. Casual atmosphere, great food & service.

I'd make the trip again just for the buffet and forget the family and the Big E!!!!!!!!!!!!!
