My neighbor decided to remove the eucalyptus trees close to his house for fire safety. He hired This company after receiving his bid and talking to the owner Julian . this company is top notch! Very professional , Fastidious and efficient! And very Hard workers ! As well as nice people! The crew was friendly and easy to work with. And very accommodating when we needed to move our cars they were right there moving their equipment out of the way . They used a ginormous crane to expedite the work . parked it in the driveway as close to the trees to be removed as possible. They spent a long time balancing it for lifting heavy load, then the operator started carefully extended the arm towards the sky until it reached into the eucalyptus. I was surprised and in awe when I realized there was a man in a harness , suspended off a cable attached to the crane which appeared high in the blue sky .They slowly lowered him into the tree tops with a chain saw attached to his belt! I watched the for the entire day and days after from my patio . I watched through my phone camera so I could zoom in and see up close. I also took many videos and photos of the process happening in front of me. I watched as he cut each tree into 2'- 4' sections until each tree was cut and carefully removed, As if by magic each section was lifted attached to the crane cables, up and over the house to the street, where the ginormous chipper was waiting and the crew was there to guide it to the ground . the sections of tree and logs were gathered and then fed into the chipper and they became instant saw dust! The crew cleaned the street everyday. They cut 14 trees in 3 days. And even worked in the rain! And then some pine trees were added to the job that were hidden amongst the eucalyptus! Just a note about the tree removal at our home in the Greenbrae hills yesterday by Julian Tree Care My wife and I were very pleased with the job Julio and his team did. One of the trees was approximately 80 feet tall on a steep hillside and had a very large canopy making it a challenging undertaking. The other tree was smaller, probably about 40 feet tall. The team demonstrated their long time experience with how well they handled the ropes and pulleys and worked together as a team. The crew worked like precise clockwork to get the job done. Julio spent all day in the trees, climbing, working the ropes and pulleys and cutting the branches so that the other team members could remove them from the ground. In addition, the crew was very respectful of our personal property that had to be moved and then returned after the job was completed. I didn't use Julian for the tree service per se, but to obtain free, healthy wood chips for my yard. I've used them twice, and both times they were great. I just called up, requested a drop, and wait for the call. You can request specific wood, but it may take longer depending on when they have that service. The wait can be up to two weeks, but I got both drops in less than a week. Did I mention the value? It cost $0. Of course, the wood chips are not factory cut, so there are various sizes and shapes. I had and told him all of which were under $2k and were closer to $1750 at which point he lowered the rate to $1600. Julian Tree Care was one of fifteen tree service companies I reached out to for an estimate to remove our two tall (+35') decaying palm trees and crown clean our redwood tree (+50'). Only ten companies came back with quotes. Their pricing was aligned with other companies and offered a discount as a first time customer which was appreciated due to the high cost of the project. Carlos originally came by to provide an estimate and then Julian, both co-owners, came by to assess the job and revisit the quote. JTC methodically approached this challenging job since there was no easy access to our small backyard. We selected JTC as they were going to be the least intrusive and destructive and carefully placed their 80T crane up on our front yard - fully cribbed and off the ground. It was a logistical feat since we have ~15% grade. It took ~1 hour just to set up the massive crane safely. Disappointed that I could never receive an email reply regarding when the tree stump would be removed; the stump was the result of our tree toppling during the last storm. They were quick to come to remove the tree late at night during a downpour - it blocked the sidewalk - and we were grateful. Frankly not sure about whether the price was fair but the job needed to get done and they took care of the problem. While we thought we might just trim back the tree in front he immediately pointed out in part based on mushrooms growing at the base of the tree that it unfortunately was dying and would ultimately possibly fall over. We've hired Julian twice now to remove two trees on our property at different times. The tree in the back was very big and dead and it leaned on the property next door! Julian removed it very methodically, with care, and without causing any further damage to property or personnel. They also hauled away all the debris to our satisfaction. I hate to give bad reviews. In fact, if I have a bad experience, i just skip it. However, this unfortunate experience has literally been nagging at me for months and the people need to know. Overall, the tree service did what it was supposed to do. i.e. cut down the tree. However, it was the CUSTOMER SERVICE that was so BAD that I WOULD NOT LET A FRIEND USE THIS SERVICE. Julien was 1 1/2 hours late for the estimate. He sent me an estimate but not to my name. I told him repeatedly my name. The lady in the office was very nice but what she promised and what was promised on-site was 2 different things. I asked for wood chips, the office lady said she would tell the workers to keep the wood separate from the waste. It was her idea and I was greatful for the suggestion. The onsite manager (julien) requested cash so he could pay his workers. Thank goodness I paid with check because despite repeated requests I never received a receipt for the work. The worst part is julien gave me a truck load of pine needles instead of wood chips. When I called back to ask, he told me they don't keep waste separate from the chips however if I wanted 'clean" wood chips (So clearly they do) I could only get a small load and it would cost an additional $300 for them to pick up the pine needles ! I had already paid $2,200. Since pine needles in a drought seem like a bad idea, I have been shoveling them into my and my neighbors' green bins for 16 weeks! I am having truckload number 3 hauled away this week. So yes they cut down trees but their customer service and business practices are terrible. read more

Let me just say that these guys are absolute pros and know what they are doing! Julian (the owner) came buy and gave me an estimate - which was reasonable. It came with an official quote that articulated the details of the job and also the price. They showed up a few days later as agreed, were even early an hour or so and worked SUPER FAST. I mean not let's get out of here fast, but effectively fast. It's a hard and dangerous work and they definitely had the right equipment - huge crane and the wood grinder attached to a truck. One of the trees were close to an electric wire, but they did a very careful job - they are also fully licensed and insured for the peace of mind for customers (that was one of my criteria when I searched for a reputable company). They wore safety PPEs (helmet, shield, ear protection) and masks and cleaned up neatly after they were finished. What else can you ask for when cutting down a tree? It's not building something, so I was only worried about safety, cost and getting the job done. I got all three. Absolute five start service, thank you Julian and crew!
