This pizza is no joke, but a true contender for best pizza in the area ("the area" being all of PA). The ordering process could be explained a little better though...upon walking up to the counter you are greeted with about 15-20 full size pizzas. They fit nicely on the counter side-to-side because of their plank-like shape. The first time we visited Jules there were no descriptions of each pie. You sort of had to guess what was on each one. And when we asked, that was met with some rolling eyes (minus one star). This time round, there were clear descriptions of the contents. Very helpful! We ordered a medium pizza, which is about 8 small slices...perfect for two people. Plenty of food. For three people you will probably need a large. Our medium consisted of two different pies. One half was the bacon, arugula, and mozzarella with chives, the other half was portabello, caramelized onions, chives, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. The latter stole the show. I could eat it every day and not get tired of it. These pizzas are somewhat of a novelty and are definitely very artsy. But they don't sacrifice anything in the flavor department. Split a medium roasted potato pizza on white with cheese, parmesan, scallions, and sour cream. This was my first pizza topped with roasted potatoes and it was fantastic. The crust was crispy and super thin but very flavorful, and the pizza tasted like a delicious fully-loaded baked potato in pizza form with an extra kick in the form of parmesan. Usually we like to get a meat-topped pizza, but decided to go for a veggie option this time, and I am very glad that we did. I went to Jules because it came highly recommended on Yelp and also from the friends I am staying with. I have mixed feelings about it. I think the overall atmosphere is pretty decent: it's very casual and offers a clean presentation. You walk up to the counter and you can either order a custom whole pizza or choose slices from the pizzas they have made (warning: the slices they cut are rather large so you might be set with just one if you're not very hungry). I had the lime/cilantro chicken pizza and the buffalo chicken pizza. The lime/cilantro was a little bit bland and the buffalo chicken was delicious but slightly too spicy for me. All in all, it was good pizza, but nothing to rave about. I would definitely go back to try more of the flavors. read more

It gives me no pleasure to give a poor rating. This is our regular family dinner spot. It's literally one of the only places we go since moved to the area because the kids (3 and 1 ) can run around a bit. But the problem is more than 50% of the time they screw up the order. Which makes for more tantrums, hungry kids and a much less enjoyable night. They forget to put the pie in, or charge the wrong amount, or put the wrong things on it. And the boys dont eat dairy so we have to start over which takes even longer. So the other day we wised up and ordered ahead of time... well we gave it 45 minutes. We arrived and it wasnt ready. They said 6-10 minutes which upset us as the kids were starved and we have out of town guests with us. After 10 minutes still nothing... finally I had to get a manager and it still took another 5-10 minutes. It's very disappointing. It's hard enough going out to eat with out the added stress of extra mistakes and poor service. read more

The wife and I eat at Jules weekly and we love their food. This weekend we had an issue and complained. The customer service is amazing. John the owner corrected the problem so well. He responded to our critiques on a SUNDAY. This is how you should run a business. Take pride in your food, your staff and your customers. If there is a problem, fix it and do better the next time. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place! She is picky when it comes to pizza, and isn't a huge fan of most places. She loves Jules Thin Crust pizza, though! I agree, the pizza is incredible. The crust is almost cracker thin - it's great! The ingredients all seem fresh and are quite tasty as well. It's great either eating inside or outside on their patio. The ice cold water outside on a hot summer day is a nice addition as well. If you live in the area, or are just passing through, do yourself a favor and STOP in at Jules Thin Crust for a bite to eat! I took away star because I kept trying to order from the guy behind the counter and he kept turning his back on me.. it looked like he was ready, so I would start talking, then he would turn around or move something. this happened 3 times before he finally even acknowledged i was standing there. i think a "hold on a moment" or something would have been good. I got three slices: 1) the kale one I just ordered to try and be healthy and it turned out to be my favorite 2) sausage and onion-very yum 3) goat cheese, edamame, carmelized onions....it was pretty good but I probably wouldn't order it again. seemed to lack a little flavor. This place deserves a standing ovation, particularly for those who are gluten-free. We have so far only visited the Doylestown location, but they have four locations throughout PA and two in CA. As newbies to the area, we were particularly eager to try it out and we certainly weren't disappointed. We recently moved from just outside of NYC and have tried many gluten-free pizza joints in and around the Big Apple to satisfy our gluten-free cravings. None of these (not even Risotteria) measure up to what Jules has to offer. Jules' gluten-free crust was absolutely fantastic - light, crispy and perfectly cooked (not at all burnt at the edges). Their gluten-free dough contains only buckwheat flour, potato starch, tapioca starch, xantham gum, navy pea flour, salt, egg yolk, olive oil and a pinch of yeast. To me, this is great as it's so much healthier than other gluten-free doughs that contain things like corn flour (highly allergenic) and rice flour (raises your blood sugars). In addition, it's grain free:-). Their staff are also strictly trained to keep their gluten-free pizzas separate to avoid the risk of cross-contamination. Jules gets an extra point for offering Daiya vegan cheese for those who can't or won't do dairy. The variety of toppings is reminiscent of some of the more creative pizza joints such as California Pizza Kitchen and ingredients are organic and local - you can definitely taste the difference and it feels like you're actually eating a true Italian pizza and something a lot healthier than you get at your standard pizzeria. Whilst Jules doesn't offer delivery, the Doylestown and Newtown locations let you order ahead and they will bring the pizza to your car. They also sell their frozen dough (including the gluten-free variety) and offer organic drinks (the kind you find in Wholefoods), as well gluten-free treats from The Grain Exchange - at least the Doylestown location does ... You gotta just love Jules. The location is Doylestown is consistent, the service is always pleasant and helpful, and the pizza is delicious. Hubby is gluten free, and this is one place where he can get what he needs easily and without hassle, and the rest of us can eat our yummy gluten-filled food. Toppings are fresh, delicious, and not tooo out there in terms of strangeness (i.e. they all work). I always forget this is a BYO place - I need to add that into my mix and my enjoyment will go up that much more! read more

Ate here last night with a buddy from Doylestown. I read a lot of good reviews of the place and thought I would give it a try and I am so glad I did! There is a lot to choose from as far the types of pizza go and they all looked great. I think what I really liked about this place is that it seemed like a healthier version of pizza. The crust is very thin, like the name of the restaurant says, which I like cause you can enjoy more of the toppings. The bulk of the ingredients are advertised as very natural/organic which is good to know that I wasn't eating a ton of preservatives or processed stuff in my pizza. We ordered a large 1/2 #3 "Roasted hormone-free chicken, chopped organic tomatoes and onions, mozzarella, lime juice, cilantro, extra virgin olive oil" and 1/2 Buffalo Chicken: Hormone free roasted chicken, gorgonzola, buffalo dressing, celery, arugula, mozzarella. They both had a very nice flavor, came out in a timely fashion, and filled me up pretty good. The price was right at just $20 for the pizza so $10 for dinner in Doylestown is pretty good. As we were waiting for our pizza I watched as the employees stayed busy with making pizza, taking orders, and taking out pizza to car-side pick up. Seemed like it is a popular choice in town and the people working were helpful, friendly, and did a great job keeping the place clean. I really enjoyed how they have water pitchers throughout the store and it seems very take care of yourself. This is nice because I didn't feel guilty not leaving a tip then since it was mostly a self-service place. I found their website to be very helpful in deciding what I wanted to eat before I got there. I am currently in the process of trying to lose about 75lbs and as such pizza is not something I eat very often. I really enjoyed the crispy crust, fresh toppings, and as a bonus they post their nutritional information about the pizzas on their website! So I had a dinner of pizza for just over 600 calories which is not easy to do! All in all I really enjoyed JTC and I will definitely eat here again if in Doylestown! read more

Finding vegan dining anywhere in Bucks County is a challenge. Ate at Jules for the first time the other night and WOW. Great, thin crust pizza cooked to perfection with your choice of a dizzying array of fresh (using local produce when available, yeah!) topping choices. Best part? Daiya cheese available! Heaven for vegan pizza fans. Organic salads, too! Crust is not the thinnest "thin crust" I've ever had (that honor belongs to Cafe Fiorella on Columbus Circle, NY, which also serves vegan pizza, by the way!), but it is enjoyable and not overly doughy. Eating tip: If you prefer a red wine with your pizza, the restaurant welcomes BYOB. But bring the bottle with you as we didn't spot any wine shops nearby. I went with B yesterday to get a pie for my dad (who can't do garlic) and we tried a few slices while we waited for it to be cooked (which was not a long wait at all). Service was very friendly and the place was clean. I had the white pizza with spinach, B had a cheese slice, and we shared a slice of the greek salad pizza. Everything was fresh and tasted like it was straight out of a garden. My sister once got a pizza there with vegan cheese (they consider all eating types) and, while I think vegan cheese is what we'll be eating in hell for eternity, she seemed happy with it. The pie we got for my dad also had no cheese, just tomatoes and italian herbs. There was a second vegan option, too, but I couldn't bring myself to look at it (though I'm sure it was also very good). New to the area and decided to see what was around. This came up during a quick Google search and I really didn't know what to expect. I stopped in yesterday with my son who is a very picky eater and it was already fairly busy around 12:30 or so. The store was very clean though and one of the teen employees asked if it was my first time in and helped me through their process. Essentially, you pick your slices and they are heated on the spot in just a few minutes. I picked out a chicken BBQ slice and a veggie slice with tons of toppings on it, it looked almost like a salad. My son stuck to their Brooklyn slice, per the gentleman's recommendation over the traditional plain pizza. After just a few minutes, the slices were ready and it was fantastic! One of the only pizza places I have been to where I don't feel gross after eating and my son loved his slice. I was skeptical of all of the crazy veggie combos but it really is a great concept. The staff member also informed me of another location closer to my home in the North Wales/Chalfont area and I am excited to try that store as well. Pricing wasn't bad, about $10 for our food. The call in "Fly By" pick up service at Jules Thin Crust Doylestown, their Flagship Location SAVED ME with 3 young children who still love it now in their Teens - drive up 20 minutes after calling in for delicious Pizza. Excellent menu with unique Pizza combinations. Fresh local ingredients. Favorites are the classic Brooklyn Pie (lots of Garlic), the Kale and Orange, the Prosciutto and Fig Jam and the BBQ Chicken.
