Having just been asked to refer a good auto mechanic for a client of mine, I realized that I've never published my many word-of-mouth referrals of Juke. What better time to start then now. I've brought my previous vehicle -- a 2005 Ford Focus and unfortunate beast of a lemon -- to him about 4 times over the past 3 years for different work (engine, transmission pan, transmission replacement :(, accelerator cable replacement.) Both he and Donny have been consummate, honest professionals every time that we've met. They take the time to explain the work they've done in layman's terms, and work with incredible focus and determination. I can tell the majority of their business comes from referrals, which is how I think any long-term, sustainable business should strive to operate if they want success and happiness in their quality of work. As a habit, every time I visit a mechanic, I call my uncle in Brockton, MA (a seasoned mechanic of 40 years) to get an impartial 2nd opinion on price/labor quotes, and have always gotten 2 thumbs way up with Juke. I've routinely been told that "you likely won't find a better price on that part/service anywhere in the country." He seems to be a man of strong integrity and works to build relationships for the long term, not for the quick buck, which is exactly how I strive to conduct my business professionally. As a last little gush of praise, I'd referred a friend to Juke about a year ago for some issues he was having with the starter in his Frankenstein-of-a-car. I was amazed to hear that the fix was so minor and simple on the vehicle that Juke didn't even charge my friend for the work -- he just asked that he tip the men for their time. If that doesn't speak volumes about the way these guys operate, I don't know what else does. I drove up from Canyon Lake recently to get a pre-buy inspection on a used pickup in Austin. I was 45 minutes late for my appointment at Juke, thanks to the usual Austin traffic. The staff there were very accommodating and were able to squeeze me in nonetheless. The inspection was thorough. The mechanics I dealt with were friendly and informative. I'm a pretty good shade tree grease monkey, and I can tell whether a shop is honest or trying to pull a fast one on ya. The folks at Juke definitely fall into the honest category. TLDR; Great communication, friendly, & quick service. Trustworthy. Never looks to rip you off. I needed a new CV joint (for a 2012 Ford Fusion) after I started hearing creaking/popping every time I turned my car. Called the dealership and multiple car repair shops, and every one was going to charge just for the inspection on top of any new parts. None could see me the same day either. Juke auto was - the only one that could see me the same day - didn't charge me just for diagnosing the car. - They dropped me off and picked me up later from a nearby (and quite nice as it turned out) coffee shop while they were diagnosing & fixing the car. - Clearly communicated prices and options before proceeding with any repairs - Total price was quite reasonable after doing some research. I've already been back once after some bad luck involving freeway debris. Saw me the same day - friendly, quick service, reasonable prices. Highly recommended, won't go anywhere else. He's everything I've read here. A good guy, knows is stuff, and isn't looking to make an extra $ by selling you something you don't need. My 10 minute experience with Juke caused me to join Yelp and write a review. I thought I would never do this. I still have a VCR and don't know what Twitter is all about. My transmission had been kicking hard into 2nd gear for a few weeks (I grimaced with agony leaving every green light and stop sign). Like every other driver on planet earth, I dread dealing with mechanics for obvious reasons. If I could create a mechanic from scratch, I would create Juke. His whole look is sweet beyond description - wouldn't be surprised to see him cruising a dirt bike across the desert in the Baja 1000. Mix that with top notch professionalism and serious car skills - you have the mechanic you've been looking for. I cruised in and he immediately put me at ease, saying "let's take it for a spin". We drove for about 3 minutes and my transmission miraculously healed. Neither of us had any idea why, and Juke wasn't surprised or even slightly bothered by me wasting his time. He tossed me the keys and said with a smile on his face, "call me when it acts up again". This was most likely a freak situation and least likely a miracle, but the way Juke treated me during my 10 minute experience was perfect. His shop has a hole in the wall feel with 5 star customer service - the way it should be. My transmission will act up again and I will take it back to Juke - in a strange way I look forward to it. I recently took my car to Juke Auto on a recommendation by friends stating he's honest and not your typical mechanic, so decided to try them out based on friends and reviews. I took my Saab convertible in to them because my a/c was blowing hot air and upon arrival was met by Juke, who was pleasant, as well as Donny. I informed Donny a/c was blowing hot air and making a fan noise above steering wheel. Donny test drove car and came back and asked if I was aware of engine light on, and I commented "yes." He asked if I'd like to check out as well, and I again stated, "okay," but main concern was A/C. I already knew thermostat was on brink from already having diagnostic test from Autozone in which I purchased part from Saab and was in glove compartment. Again main reason taken there was for (A/C blowing hot air ) which needed repairing since we had such hot temperatures last summer and would be unbearable if we had again this summer. I was informed by Juke they would fix thermostat which quote was $89.00 (for labor approx. 1.5 hes) +$19.90 for coolant . I called to get status of car and he stated "He had most knowledgable tech trying to make A/C work but wiring was difficult and only had specs for a Saab linear and Aero make but not Conv. Long story short $267.00 later he stated A/C could not be fixed and needed to take to Saab Dealership to have A/C Diagnostic. He never mentioned to me whether they checked freon level , or did A/C recharge to see if leaking freon. So after paying repairs, which were secondary, since aware of them since already had parts, my car's A/C still doesn't work and now have to find another repair shop and shell more money out. Not pleased, unfortunately, like most reviews written. Plus engine light still on!! Juke's reponse was "not erased so when ,someone else, did A/C Diagnostic testing - codes would be there and saved for them to figure problem out." read more

I called them and spoke with the super nice lady in the office to explain the situation. The next day I received a call from Ken detailing exactly what was happening with my car and being very thorough and polite in the process. I'm new to Austin and always concerned about getting ripped off at mechanics but Ken struck me as so sincere and professional. I needed some very extensive work and he genuinely seemed disappointed at having to tell me how much it would cost haha. Donnie and his staff at Juke Motors will be my mechanics for life. He and his team helped me every step of the way when I came to him. I had been hit by someone texting and driving and had never been through the process of getting my car repaired. Donnie spoke to me and walked me through the process and what to expect along the way. After I dropped it off, I called a couple of times just to check in and he was more than happy to give me updates and all that. Since the girl hit me and was at fault, we went through her insurance company who treated me so poorly and made the experience so terrible, but Donnie constantly fought for me to make sure I was happy and got everything I needed. Truly a great company, and great team. They have turned my experience around and have made me feel so much better about it all. I've taken three cars over the years to Juke (even before they moved in to their lovely new space.) The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. You work with one person for the entirety of the job, so you always know with whom you're speaking. I have never felt pressured to do unnecessary work. I always feel comfortable asking advice and "silly" questions. The person who answers the phone is always friendly, as well. Recently I was not 100% satisfied with how a particular job had turned out. I spoke with staff, they heard my concerns, and they made the job turn out to my satisfaction. I really appreciated the time they took to make sure I was happy. Other than that one time, I've never had an issue with the work completed. I've actually not had work done, or had certain work done in other places, based on their recommendations. I highly recommend you take your vehicle to Juke Auto. When you meet Juke, you'll know why his staff seem to be in good spirits and ready to give great customer service. He is a very friendly person, and he always makes me feel welcome. I worked with Ken and he was courteous and professional. I had a pesky engine light on in my 2006 tundra. I'm at that point where it might be time to get a new truck but I'm just not ready emotionally It wasn't easy, but eventually we got it done with O2 sensors and catalytic converters. My tundra rolls on. I really appreciate their attention to detail. Hopefully the truck has another great year thanks to Juke. My 5 star rating for Juke Auto isn't high enough. I volunteer for the humane society in their feral cat program. I had collected the 6 cats to return them to their outdoor home after being spayed and neutered. I opened all of the traps and they all ran out to go back to their place of residence, all except one. This little cat decided to jump inside the bumper of my car. I couldn't see her or hear her. She was scared and I didn't want anything to happen to her. After about 20 min.,I drove very slowly to my driveway which was right across the street from where I had released all of them. When I got into my driveway, I saw her tail peeking out. I didn't want to scare her anymore so I set out a few live traps to catch her again. In the early morning I got up and she was not in the traps. I didn't want to drive my car until I was positive she was gone. I phoned Juke Auto. Without hesitation they sent Mike and Dillion over within 10 minutes. Mike took off the bumper and checked everywhere under the car for me. Thank heavens she was gone. I'm certain that she found her way home since it was right across the street. They didn't charge me to do this!!! Can you believe that? I was blown away to say the least. These people are incredible!!! I drove to Juke Auto afterwards to thank them and the owner came over and thanked me for caring so much about animals. These people are ABSOLUTELY THE BEST!!! I will never take my car anywhere else. Super great place for all your auto needs. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The price is affordable considering I spent less then $800 on a tune up and an oil leak repair on an old truck. I took one star off because they locked the doors to my truck after I told 5 people and wrote notes that my key dose NOT unlock the door. Then they parked it really far down the street in the sun and I had to do a lot of walking back and fourth and waited 30 min for them to brake into my vehicle. My life tends to be weird so I wouldn't hold this against them much, but I did make several attempts to make sure the door wouldn't be locked. Ill be back again! read more

Juke Auto worked quickly to provide a quote that was fair and worked even more quickly to have the car repaired in less than 48 hours. Don't take responsibility when they Messed up Misdiagnosed my car and they don't wanna take responsibility. Went to Juke on 26th Dec to get my car diagnosed so that with in mind that I have some day offs and can fix it myself. They were clear on diagnostic charges and I didn't have problem with that. Next day I get a call saying they performed smoke test and didn't find anything so they ASSUMED it was Gas Cap and bought me a Gas Cap worth 37.15 and 136.62 for diagnostic. Got my car, happy there's nothing wrong with my car. A couple of days ago engine light came on and I got it checked and it had same codes. Went back to Jukes , they got me a loaner car which I appreciate but at the same time , I didn't have to get the loaner car if they diagnosed it right in the first place because I had day offs. Now they're saying that leak is from EVAP Vent Valve and they need it replaced and they'll charge me 350 some (don't know exact but it was 300+) , now I can fix it myself but I need to get my registration renewed and I can't get it all done by the time I have. I called and demanded Justice, because of them I don't have enough time to fix it and not to mention they made me buy a GASCAP I didn't need. and told me they'll get me 50% of Gascap money back, $18 , is this a joke that you left me stranded. And yeah, the person misdiagnosed is on vacation so I had to deal with different person each time read more

Ok since I've lived here in Austin I've always come​ here for all of my repairs on my car. Recently though I decided to look elsewhere because of how much they wanted to charge me for a new alternator. When I called them I asked for a quote on how much a new alternator was going to be but they wouldn't​ give me an estimate and they insisted on me bringing my car in. I towed my car there and they said it was going to be $580 to repair my alternator in my car. I called around the area and everyone quoted me around $300-375. THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE... I asked Juke if they would work something out but they wouldn't go down on the quote that they gave me so I took it to another shop within 1 mile. Everyone that works here is really nice and is willing to help you but it's not worth if you can go 1 mile down the road and get your car fixed for $300 less with the same quality service. This place used to be relatively​ affordable compared to their competition. I've recommended​​ people here in the past but going further I won't be telling people to come here. read more
