My elderly mother's transmission went out. It's an older vehicle not worth much really. I scheduled an appointment for them to quote a price. The quote came in extremely high as follows. ($6500 to install a used transmission.) ($184 to swap out the cabin air filter!!! It sits behind the glove box and takes even a novice 15 minutes to do . ($2845 to replace control arms!) which they were gonna have to take them out anyways to get the transmission out)just goes on and on. To top it off they charged her $167 for this comprehensive diagnosis of every thing about car( didn't ask for) nowhere on the website does it say they charge for a quote. Used to be the standard for most service industries to offer free quotes so they can get the business. And I hate to say it, But it feels like the bloated the quote so that she would say no, which she did. Sort of shady down at Edgestone in my opinion! Two thumbs down read more

I've used them in the past for several of our family's cars and hadn't had any issues. In April of this year my 2019 Ford F150 Lariat Ecoboost 3.5 was having a very common and as it turns out, well documented problem, which Edgestone diagnosed as needing a "timing chain replacement". The problem in reality turned out to be prematurely failing cam phasers on 2017-2020 3.5 liter Ecoboost engines. Is this related to timing, yes but that was specifically not mentioned in their formal report. In fact their report left off any mention of the cam phaser / timing issues at all, despite the fact that the symptom (rattle at cold start) was part of why I brought it to them. Instead, when I picked the truck up after they'd replaced the battery (and cleared the related code), they said I should either sell the truck or fix the "timing chain" problem which would cost $8,200 !!!!! I decided to ask around about the issue since it seemed so unusual to need an $8200 repair on a 64k 2019 truck. An old retired mechanic friend explained the issue and that Ford at one point was extending warranties to keep people happy. I took the truck to Maxwell Ford and got the work done for $4700 because I've spent time and effort personalizing my truck and Ford's new part is supposed to fix the issue and there haven't been reports of the new part failing . So in the end, this shop appears to have been deceptive in their description of the problem and also tried overcharging me by $3,500. Could it be that Ford is just able to do the repair that much cheaper for some reason? It's possible that Ford is buying good will so I'll consider Fords in the future. But a $3500 difference is tough to square IMO. Anyway, I don't trust these guys anymore. Take it for what it's worth. One person's experience. read more

It is important that car owners trust the shops they take their car to be serviced. The following report and photos are fact-based documentation of my recent experience with Edgestone. The VIN# of the vehicle is the same across all receipts and documents. Item attached: an invoice from Edgestone Automotive dated 11/21/2022, for a Jaguar XK, mileage 79,224. Item attached: Vehicle inspection from Edgestone Automotive for said vehicle, stating that the battery needed to be replaced, and "our inspection showed your air filter is dirty". Item attached: Battery test result from supplier I purchased the vehicle battery from, test dated 11/23/2022- it shows the battery health is good, and the CCA rating is actually performing above the rated value (Edgestone said the battery had low CCA). Item attached: Receipt from local dealership showing the air filter on this vehicle was replaced at 75,783 miles- less than 4K miles before the vehicle was taken to Edgestone Automotive. Item attached: this is the actual air filter I removed from the same vehicle showing the air filter is not dirty at all. Fact- I declined Edgestone Automotive from replacing my battery or air filter. I checked both on my own after returning home. Fact- I contacted the front desk person on Nov 23rd and let him know the issues I encountered, along with a lot of other things that are not documented here, such as returning a convertible sports car with the tires covered in mud, failure to return an OEM part that was replaced that I asked to be returned, and a missing insert piece from the bumper. Fact- the owner Joe followed up with me on the issues I had encountered with my vehicle being serviced there. I last contacted him Nov 29th to let him know my concerns about the integrity of his business. Fact- the owner never apologized, never followed up (as of Dec 18 2022). read more

They took care of all the issues on the car and stayed under budget to what they quoted. On top of it, they stayed late to complete the job . Extremely impressed with execution and price. Use extreme caution if you choose this shop. MAJOR misdiagnosis on AC repair for Volvo. They replaced AC unit for $2,800 and the problem remained. 3 separate returns to the shop with no solution. After the car was there for a total of 22 days, THEN they decide it was a leak in the evaporator. The AC they replaced was NOT the issue and I spend $2,800 on an AC unit that did not need to be replaced!!! Despite the misdiagnosis, Drew did an excellent job of presenting a creative, wordy explanation to try and pull another $2.800 from me. But I could not trust that it was the evaporator. How could I? The misdiagnosis was pushed aside and I was basically told, sorry about your luck. Owning a business is a choice. Doing the right thing as a business owner is also a choice. When you're wrong, own it. We are taught to do the right thing at an early age. Highly disappointed by the service and treatment of this business owner who refused to acknowledge they were wrong and made no attempt to make it right. Again, use caution. read more

I took my '12 Land Rover LR4 with a failed parking brake - very common problem. I dropped the car off and received an estimate for the work on October 20th. Due to claims of multiple lost or incomplete parts from Land Rover as well as "we don't know what the problem is", Edgestone was not "finished" until nearly a month later on November 16th. When I picked it up, there were additional problems: the yaw rate sensor was reporting an error causing a brake warning light and the fuel gauge always read empty. Edgestone wanted an additional $2000 to replace the yaw sensor plus an unspecified amount more to drop the fuel tank to fix whatever was going on there. Needless to say, i was miffed and elected not to have further work done there. I took the truck to a Land Rover dealer. Land Rover fixed both problems for, less than $400. The yaw sensor issue was because Edgestone did not program the brake controller. The fuel level issue was a connector issue that Land Rover mechanics were notified of by Land Rover. Also, looking into my specific truck, there's no separate yaw sensor - the part they specified in the $2000 estimate doesn't even fit my truck. If not criminal, these guys are seriously incompetent. I receive Edgestone's fliers saying you don't need to take your Land Rover to the dealer. True, but you sure shouldn't take it to Edgestone. read more

I had a bad valve cover that was leaking oil and these guys got it fixed and back to me in perfect condition. Didn't try to over charge or up-sale me on stuff I didn't need. Had recommendations but were not pushy in any way. Kept me updated constantly and even sent photos! Recently bought new truck and SUV and we will be taking them here for all service!! read more

Great service. They were able to complete my Volvo's scheduled maintenance for less than the dealer quoted me. After talking to the guys while I waited it seems they are under new ownership and exactly what this area needed. Good honest mechanics are great. They showed me pictures of each important step they completed. I'm going to need new brakes soon but they showed me how much pad I had left instead to replacing parts I don't need yet. Way overpriced. They charged me $75 to tell me what I had let them know was wrong with my car, and their estimate was well over what it should cost. They want to squeeze as much money out of you as they can. read more

I've had my 2014 BMW 528i serviced here several times. They performed a full brake job and while doing that discovered a radiator leak in a radiator they'd installed a little less than a year before. It was still under warranty and they got it swapped out with a new one -- apparently BMW radiators have issues. At any rate, all worked performed came about 15% below the dealer estimate I received. Nothing wrong with that. Can't speak to their expertise with other car manufacturers, but based on my experience they know BMWs. read more

This company totally ripped me off! Claimed they ran a diagnostic on a Lexus, and that they could fix it. Cost was nearly $1,000. The car repeated the same problem one week later. BWA claimed that what was wrong with it, was actually under warranty! We took the car to Lexus, and was told bolts were missing and spark plugs not installed correctly. BWA should have told us the problem was under warranty in the first place, obviously they could see that as they were the ones who told us it was under warranty! Instead they took our money! Ron was able to fix my son's F-100 which had a brand new engine in it with a warranty. The warranty covered all but $200. When we went to pick it up, Ron said he was able to get all of it covered but $89. It is nice to go in a shop and pay LESS than you expected to pay. My hat's off to Ron. read more

I brought my 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 in to have some oil leaks repaired. They were able to get my truck in and out pretty quickly. Every thing was explained on what they were needing to do. Probably they know what they're doing mechanically, but their prices are way out of line. I got an oil change and it was $130. They wanted to do a radiator flush and fill for $299, but I said I'd get back with them. Glad I didn't because just down the road from them I found a place that quoted me prices roughly half, i.e. HALF of what Ben White Automotive quoted me for each of those services for the same labor and identical supplies. And the other placed has good reviews, much better than Ben White Automotive which will never see another penny of my business, ever. read more
