We kept bringing our car to Lamb's for A/C repair but their repairs never worked. We were lucky enough to find Capital C-Connection. Not only did we finally get our A/C repaired on our Volvo but discovered that the part they replaced never breaks, was unnecessary, and they charged us almost double the standard repair cost. Plus their estimate to fix what was really wrong was about half of what Lambs estimate said. We use Capital V now exclusively. When I first used Capital V Connection I was very impressed with them. Then it got to where some of their work was not performed as promised and my car was returned still not working. This happened at least 3 times to me personally. I've paid hundreds and once over a thousand dollars to pick up my vehicle and my car was doing the exact same thing as when I brought it in for repairs. This latest rip off is the last. I do not trust them and I am not going to recommend them as they just do not have the skills to accurately diagnose newer models(the first or second time) and when their repair doesn't work they start "how about we try this?". Which really means their diagnosis was wrong and they are expecting you to eat repairs you really didn't need. It is a shame as I really like Robert but losing your reputation instead of making things right is never a good way to do business. read more

My family drove that car for 14 years until I inherited all 350,000 miles of it. And Capital V-Connection took excellent care of my baby - always cost effective, always professional, always kind. This place saved me from making a giant mistake. (See my review for Discovery Auto Sales). I took a Volvo here on a test drive to have a buyer's check done on it. They took about 45 minutes to check the entire vehicle, and came back with a thorough report telling me everything that was wrong with it and trust me it was an extensive list. The best part was they only charged me $45 for the report, which was well worth what it saved me had I bought the car. If I ever own a Volvo this will be the ONLY place I will take it, and if you own a Volvo this SHOULD be the ONLY place you take your car. PS. We have two Volvos-- a 2002 S80 and a 2004 XC90. We bought the XC90 in part because of Capital V. (If you have a good mechanic you trust who only fixes Volvos, you might as well get another Volvo, right...?) We've been taking our cars to Robert and team for over two years, for repairs large and small. I can't tell you how many times I've brought the car in for something and Robert has charged me only parts, or sometimes fixed the problem at no cost. We had 2 or 3 of these before any big repairs, and I was almost relieved to finally be able to pay these people something when we had the AC fan go out. Prices are always fair, service is quick, they are super professional and nice people. I don't dread getting my car fixed or feel like they're ever trying to pull one over for me. I purchased a 1998 Volvo V70 wagon when we moved to Austin last year. We thought our mechanic in Miami was good... Robert and the fellas at Cap V are tremendous. Our first mechanical problem was with the Volvo 4WD switch. Apparently the Swedish designers thought it wise to place the switch next to the floor shifter. Somehow it accidently became engaged and caused the engine to run rough. Robert diagnosed it easily and charged a fair price. With older cars, there is always something going wrong. Cap V are always honest with what is an emergency and what can wait to be fixed. (Very helpful when the money is tight and you want to keep the vehicle on the road at a bare minimum cash outlay.) PLEASE READ!! It's for you!! This is an account of what my last experience was at Capital V-Connection.... I payed $945.00 to have my brakes fixed and a CV joint noise identified and repaired. Neither was done. In my opinion, simple work for an experienced, professional mechanic shop. Driving home, the car was in the EXACT condition as it was when I brought it to Capital V-Connection. The experience was like this .... When I called for the diagnosis, I was told that 2 parts were needed to fix the brakes and that QUOTE.. "The CV joint noise wasn't diagnosed by driving the car, because the car was too unsafe for his mechanic to drive." Which tells me no one drove the car. I was told. QUOTE.. "The mechanic felt around the front CV joint and it felt bad and replaced it." When I called to pay for the repairs, I was told, QUOTE.. "That the brakes aren't what he would like them to be, but better." Upon my drive home, I was in amazement that the car was in the EXACT condition as before. I called to inquire what was done. He proceeded to tell me that QUOTE.. "The brake pads were not of a good quality and IT was the cause for the brakes to still not work properly, and that he didn't hear a noise related to the CV joint." I brought the car back for a drive with the "Owner" in it and he was able to identify the CV joint noise, as something other than the front CV joint he replaced, and also said, QUOTE... "A good starting place to figure out the brakes would be to replace a third brake part, for $350.00!!!!" A GOOD STARTING PLACE??!!! Obviously the car was NOT properly diagnosed for either repair work, because it still exists, yet I'm out of pocket $945.00!! He DID NOT adequately diagnose the brake problem. How could they if, NO ONE DROVE THE CAR!! That's why the brakes are as they are now. In need of repair!! I would not recommend this mechanic shop. He wanted close to $1200.00 to TRY to fix the brakes and a CV joint noise. HE SAID THAT... Quote..."A good starting place would be to start with replacing a third brake component." And to fix the CV joint noise, they would remove the part making the noise! Thus $1200.00 plus dollars to begin a proper diagnosis!! READERS... It's not how repair work, should work. It's not a learn on the job at my expense. If they miss diagnose it, the "Owner" of the shop should eat the cost. NOT ME!!!! If it takes longer than usual to diagnose, then they need to get better at THAT!! A quality, professional and competent shop would have diagnosed and repaired it the first attempt. Not in three or possibly more. The owner should reimburse my money. Small claims court is a joke. I spoke with an attorney, who was a worst experience than the mechanic shop. He said, "$945.00, isn't a lot of money." WOW!! And obviously the mechanic "Owner" of Capital V-Connection thinks the same. Please look for these remarks on all other social media sites, and certainly pass on to all who drive. It's the only way to keep poor service in check. Word of mouth!! You won't find a more honest and knowledgeable Volvo mechanic than Cap V Connection in Austin! I own a 1992 Volvo 240, and whenever it needs mechanical attention, Robert and his staff always help me out for a reasonable price. Where less honorable shops might've told me I needed new brakes right away, Robert told me I could safely wait a while to change rotors, etc, thus saving me money. When I turned my Volvo in for an oil change, they surprise fixed a dent that I had, free of charge! They do a good and thorough job, and are honest about prices up front. I don't write reviews unless I'm on either end of the satisfied spectrum. In this case I'm very satisfied. I took my 2000 S70 T5 in for an intermittent brake problem. It was very infrequent, but when you need your brakes and you don't have them it's pretty unsettling. Plus my passenger door would not open from the inside, which is kind of creepy when you go on dates. I told them to go ahead and replace the master cylinder if needed, but they said they had rather be sure first. They kept it for 1 week trying to reproduce the problem, finally did and determined it just needed a brake flush, fixed my door and barely charged me anything. They just earned a repeat customer. There's a reason these guys have such rave reviews - actually - there are MANY reasons. Soooo about me; I'm a girl. Moved home to TX after 10 years in NYC, sans car. Soooo I'm not really car-brilliant. I am, however, outspoken and fairly quick to flip out if I think someone is trying to pull a fast one on me. These guys fix stuff when they say they will, they explain what's gong on and TWICE now they have had a, "calm down this is easy" response that cost a fraction of what the geniuses at Pep Boys said. Be smarter than me, skip Pep Boys and bring your Volvo-baby directly to these guys every time. I heart these guys - and the work they've done on my car (she's 16 years old now so there's plenty to be kept up) for the past year and a half. Our family has 2 Volvo autos and both go here for anything mechanical. This shop is friendly and efficient and far more honest than any other we've found to date. They do what the say and don't try to up-sell you on things but make sure your car is safe all the same. Going back to dealerships is always depressing because they are so over the top nice and friendly when selling you a car but once you are past the first couple of trips in for the "free" oil changes and things, you're just a number. This shop would keep me buying Volvo cars simply so I could get all my service done here. Sadly they don't work on anything else but they know what they're doing with this brand and they do it very well. Quick, easy, and helpful. My V70 XC Cross Country overheated at rush hour on Friday, Memorial Day weekend. Although it was a total bummer having to wait a three-day weekend to have Boxy Brown checked out [yes, I named my car, but that doesn't make me a doosh], the upside was that even though my tow was late getting there, they were able to check it out and make the repair by 5 pm; luckily only a radiator cap, labor, and pressure check- under $100. They even let me pick it up a smidge after 5, since I was on the road. Planning on returning for a check-up later. read more

It was time to take my S 40 in for the 60,000 mile maintenance considering my odometer was reading 82,000 miles. I was also hearing some grinding on my right front wheel. I decided to take the S 40 to Robert at Capital V after reading the yelp reviews and his over the phone quote for my check up. He beat his competitors by $200. I'm glad I trusted the other reviewers and his cost saving quote. My car now runs much better than before and I feel better knowing he gave me the all clear for other issues. And that grinding noise, I was quoted over $1400 to repair my shocks and struts from my alignment specialists. Robert looked over everything and said my shocks and struts were fine. I was super pumped to find a great review for Capital V-Connection here on Yelp. I first went to at least 6 different auto repair places for an a/c problem on my 1990 Volvo 240DL. The quotes started at $280 and went up to 'expect to spend about $1000'. Took it to Capital V-Connection, and got a quote a couple hours later for $135. They knew and recommended alternative ways to fix the a/c that saved me a lot of money and the a/c blows cold again. They know Volvo's and they seem to be honest. They performed a full check-up for free and recommended several services that I know the car actually needs (it is nearly 20 years old with 200,000 miles). read more
