Since it's been open, I've come back many…read moretimes and have tried out many other hot pot places--and I would continue to choose Soupleaf over them. They've become a well oiled machine from bringing your meat orders and drinks to the table. The quality of the produce is really top notch. They are one of the best AYCE hotpot places for sure.

The soup base are legit af, the sichuan spicy will knock u off so beware, second one was redhot braised which according to me is better. The soup base have a lot of veggies like carrots and onions so don't waste money on those while picking. So for shrimp and meats and make most of ur time here. The sauce bar is small but again quality stuff, the suaces tasted much better than other places. Why not 5 stars, for my liking picking up and sitting and eating is a little inconvenient just want to sit an order to my liking

There were still a few slices of watermelon and orange left. Be sure to try the shrimp and crawfish mix. I had attempt to go for seconds but when I came back, there was not much to get. The customer service was fantastic and very attentive. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town to give it another try..maybe a bit earlier so there's still plenty of food at the bar.

With that said I ended up with the Sukiyaki, delicious. With some flank and A5 meats so I could experience all styles, this combined with the bit of truffle dipping, so so so good. Service: Per most Tatsuya places, friendly and quick service. Don't be sad it's over be happy it happened... is what I would say if I knew this is the end but it's not, because the Tatsuya staff announced they had something happening in the works, so I know this is just another chapter. Looking forward to that whatever that is.

My parents barely speak English, so kind of wasn't necessary to teach us how to dip the stuff in hot water for each thing. You can upgrade to a premium plate on some of the courses which is absurd since the bill came out to be over $100 per person and we didn't order drinks!! No one should have to pay this much for boiled food. Even the normal menu was kind of over priced. The only redeeming part of this was the interior was nicely decorated to a bamboo Japanese style. But that shouldn't matter with all else.

Overall, a great experience! Service was excellent. The chicken wings as an appetizer were delicious, perfectly fried and tender. The chicken eggrolls were good size and delicious! My hot pot, seafood base, was full of seafood and other good stuff that I had picked out. My daughter enjoyed her hot pot as well. My son-in-law had boneless chicken wings and although I don't remember the sauce, it was extremely tasty. Everyone had a great time and a great meal! Restaurant was clean, organized, and comfortable. Good value as well!

I know it's so cute and they made it a little hard to eat because you feel bad in a weird sense. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.

We both had the lavender lemonade which was also part of the Austin Restaurant Week menu so the cost of each food/drink item we ordered was going to partially donate to the Central Texas Food Bank. Hooray for giving back to the community while trying new places! The spinach and artichoke dip was our starter. It was so fun to watch the preparation at the table. The drinks were delicious so we were already having the best time ever. After that we had a salad course and both ordered the caesar which was great. Next we got the bouillon broth and I ordered the Pacific Rim while my partner had the Land and Sea. I would choose the Pacific Rim again just for the duck, it was so tender and flavorful. There's a website that helps you time the amount of time each protein needs to cook. Every approach was incredibly thoughtful. The teriyaki sauce was the best overall in my opinion. We were very happy with the bouillon broth and also enjoyed dipping the potatoes in the creamy sauce. For dessert we had the cookies and cream. My favorite part of the meal was covering the strawberries in dark chocolate but we were so full by then I couldn't finish it all. I would come back for dessert alone. Overall it took us 2 1/2 hours and left us extremely full and satisfied.

I step out of my car, I take a deep breath. *breathes in* *breathes out* I can't believe I convinced myself to leave my house today, as someone with severe agoraphobia, leaving my house is a card I'm not usually dealt. My therapist told me I should try new things first. This place is a short drive from my apartment, so I decided to give it a try. Peering through the windows, I see a semi-crowded restaurant. I see a family laughing "could they be laughing at me?" I wonder "No! Of course they're not laughing at you" A sudden rush of courage surges over me, I puff out my chest, as I step in to this establishment. I am then greeted with a smiling face by the hostess asks "Hello, is it just you who would be dining with us today?" "Yes, if you guys serve food?" "Of course you guys serve food, this is a restaurant, Jose are you stupid!" I say out loud. The hostess laughs. Good, she thinks I'm joking, I can work with this. I creek to my seat "wow a clean table!" I say to myself. (And no, that was not sarcasm ((that comment was not sarcasm either [I cannot stress enough that this is not sarcasm]))) I am then met by a chivalrous waiter, I wish more people were like him. He handed me a glass of some of the most succulent water."Hey" my voice trembles "What do you recommend?" A glaring and giant smile masks his face "Well, the Jumbo Squid! It may be a bit pricy but It'll best squid you've tasted" He says. Not having the resolve to say that I've never tried squid before, I look at the menu as if I'm interested in it. I see the price, a bit more than what I was expecting. (Side note: It could've costed more and I would've been fine as it was the most delectable squid, nay, the most delectable food I've ever tasted. Even now while writing this, I am having withdrawals from not being able to have immediate access to this juicy, mouthwatering, slice of heaven.) "I guess I'll try the squid then, since you view it so highly." I also made sure to order some chicken tenders as that's what Mommy would've gotten me. After what seemed to be just a blink of the eye, I saw the waiter strutting towards me and after a getting a waft the aromatic squid, boy let me tell you. Immediately my socks were knocked off (this is a figure of speech, my socks did not fall off, but it sure felt like they did!) I then began to chow down on the squid, I was immediately transcended. "Was I feasting with God? What good did I do to deserve this?" I pondered as I continued to partake in such a wondrous appetizer. I was then met with such grand sense of disappointment as soon, there was no more squid left. How can one person consume so much food? This is a sharable meal... I am such a gluttonous boy. With sorrow overtaking my being, I quickly remembered that I still had my Chicky Tendies. (this is internet slang for Chicken Tenders) These Chicky Tendies were not from your typical chicken. I knew that these chickens must've been raised in a nice suburban area, that they were told bed time stories each and every night. That they received a spectacular education and met some of the greatest friends that any chicken could ask for, having been filled with such love and joy with each and every passing day, Juicy Claws' chicken is superb, unlike those saddened chickens used by Church's Chicken. (I mean no disrespect to Church's Chicken, apologies if my words have happened to upset anyone, I use their name as I believe they to be a well known and respected place to enjoy some quality chicken) As I finished my last bite, I was not rushed with the saturated feeling of excitement of being able to leave (to clarify, my agoraphobia causes me to avoid social interactions. I thought this would be as difficult as it was to tell my Mom to add Worcestershire sauce to her cooking, as I could not pronounce "Worcestershire". To this day my food remains Worcestershire sauce free [who created such an impossible to pronounce name??] apologies for such a rant, I did not mean to go off the rails.) I originally thought this was going to be an in and out experience (not as in the restaurant, just to clarify) Here at Juicy Claws, they treated me like family. It helped ease my worries and allowed me to feel comfortable outside my home. And I should know how family should treat each other because I have a very loving family and I never leave my house due to my agoraphobia. Juicy Claws gave me a feeling of hope that I could be apart of something greater, just like how great these prices are for just how amazing their food is! I recently visited Juicy Claw and was blown away -- this place is a hidden gem for anyone who loves bold, flavorful seafood with a creative twist. The Grilled Jumbo Squid was perfectly charred and tender -- not chewy like you'd expect elsewhere. The seafood fried rice was packed with fresh ingredients and full of umami. I also tried their lobster garlic noodles -- incredibly rich, garlicky, and indulgent -- a total must-try. One of the standout dishes was the steamed clams with lemongrass. The clams were incredibly fresh, and the broth was packed with flavor -- fragrant, savory, and perfectly balanced. It was so good I ended up drinking every last drop of it. And if you're into bold flavors, don't skip the five-spice grilled wild boar. It had the perfect balance of smokiness and spice -- tender and deliciously different. My family and I visited Juicy Claws after seeing the movies recently and I can confidently say that this restaurant will definitely be in our rotation for weekend meals. It has a nice open space and multiple tvs to watch from any angle you may be seated at. I bought my wife and my two picky eaters with me. My wife had ordered the shrimp garlic noodles and both of my kids got the popcorn chicken kids meals. I treated myself to a pound of boiled shrimp with garlic butter. My wife and I also split some tomyum soup and egg rolls as an appetizer. My kids ate most of their meals, which is a true compliment from them. My wife liked the garlic noodles and spoke nothing but praise for the tomyum and egg rolls. I also really liked my the shrimp! Once I peeled it, I always made sure to dip it in the excess garlic butter in the bag. The sauce was just that good. There are also few restaurants where I live that I am able to eat boils, so I'm so glad that I found this place. I moved recently and have been craving seafood. Juicy Claws just happened to fit the criteria perfectly. The menu looked fantastic, they had good beer choices on tap, and the restaurant was full of large screen tvs, making it a promising environment for me. I ordered the fried seafood platter while my brother ordered the garlic cajun shrimp. We also got four eggrolls from the happy hour menu to share, which the our helpful server reccommended to us. The eggrolls were delicious, everything on the seafood platter was perfectly fried, and the garlic cajun shrimp was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I would come back just for the eggrolls themselves. We're huge fans of this restaurant and have returned multiple times. The food here is truly exceptional. Since moving to Austin, I have been trying to find a new Vietnamese place to eat. I had seen them on Facebook and had come by with my family this weekend. We ordered a small goat hot pot, the lemongrass trio, and an order of seafood fried rice. Everything was fantastic! The goat hot pot broth was so rich and the meat was incredibly tender. The lemongrass trio was the perfect appetizer and paired well with the side of fish sauce and the seafood fried rice was some of the best fried rice I've ever had. We recently visited Juicy Claw seafood restaurant and were absolutely blown away by the amazing taste and quality of the food. Since moving to Austin, we haven't had any seafood this good. Our first time here. The food was delicious, the price is so cheap. We ordered 6 dishes that we couldn't finish them. There are a lot of food on all of those plates, therefore we have to bring them home for the next day. Seafood salad was delicious.The lemons and pepper chicken was only $9 for 5 big pieces. The service was good, the restaurant was clean, and there were many TVs for the game. We were excited to try this place since it's close to home, but the food was disappointing. The $20 seafood salad had mostly carrots. The chicken wings had no flavor, and the lobster in the garlic noodles was dry. The seafood boil was not good at all. I know starting a restaurant takes a lot of effort and money. I'd love to give it a second chance and just wanted to share my thoughts. read more

I've been coming here since a month after they opened, and since then it has been one of my favorite restaurants, the food it's always so good and so satisfying, especially the pastas and the friend rice (in my opinion) but everything is great. The food was so good! I had the Lobster Garlic Noodles and it was the best noodles I've had in so long. The atmosphere was so welcoming, and the business owners were so sweet! The restaurant's interior design is so beautiful too. You can tell they truly care about the restaurant and their customers. Great atmosphere! Loved the colorful murals! Great service! Food came out quickly. The garlic wings, fried catfish and shrimp were delicious! The gumbo could have been just a tad spicier for me personally, but I get they want to make the food mild enough for everyone to enjoy it.
