The winner was the vegan French toast. So so so good! The cream, the berries, the maple syrup and the toast quality was so good and it all went well together. Highly recommend this French toast!!

Healthy and balanced, kid friendly options, vegan desserts, and options that everyone in the family could get excited about. For the kids I especially appreciated the extensive mix and match ala carte options. It is absolutely one of those nostalgic vegan cafes like I frequented in college I won't say how many years ago - whole foods from scratch cooking, a little under salted (they have salt on the table if you prefer restaurant level salting), great use of spices for flavor, nothing trendy just wholesome reliably good food. We had the tamales (both lunch and breakfast plates), classic French toast, fruit cup, sausages, steamed greens, cheesecake, peanut butter chip cookie, and brownie. Loved it all, the scrambled tofu was a surprise hit with the whole crew, pinto beans are cooked from dried with a great creamy consistency, the warm spice in the French toast made it appealing to the grown ups without being "too spicy" for the kids. Home fries were another surprise hit with crispy exterior and fluffy interior on each piece. Desserts were very good - the blueberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were the favorites. The tamales were very good but on the smaller side, if you're here for the tamales definitely opt into the small upcharge for a second tamale. Service was great, our food came out quickly and the team perfectly timed our to go order so it was hot and ready just as we were finishing our in restaurant meals.

**July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. The pastries were also excellent--flaky, buttery, and everything you'd hope for--but for me, that scrambled egg plate is the standout and something I would come back for again and again.

The food is too greasy and certain dishes and too salty for my liking but overall a great restaurant addition to the Flagstaff scene. Buffet is $22/person Thu-Mon from 12.30pm to 8.30pm. Came with a daikon and fish ball soup (so good!), a watery curry (like soup - so it was ok) and porridge too. Service and ambience are very local style - homey with a mix of self service. They have lots of beverage options as well. Owner is a Japanese chef who has been vegan for decades. Another chef in the kitchen is Taiwanese. They said menu items change everyday for the buffet. The restaurant (indoor and out) is very dirty and unkempt and the food was average (one meal) and terrible (the second). The owner, who was alone and overwhelmed, asked us to serve ourselves water, silverware and any condiments we needed, which was no problem. But all these items were stacked on a dirty table in the middle of the restaurant- and surrounded by clutter, stacked decorations, and... junk? The food was extremely undercooked (thankfully just vegetables), and the pad Thai seemed to be cooked in water. There was no flavor or color in the "sauce." So disappointing- especially for the price. We took everything home and cooked it and added sauces, which made for a lovely dinner. I get the feeling the owner is understaffed and struggling to get the restaurant "ready."

We were craving Mexican food and found this gem on Yelp! It had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we ate here! I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and chicken. The food was amazing! They give you a lot, which I couldn't finish, but I totally took the rest home and ate it! The red sauce had great flavor and not spicy at all. The chicken was seasoned well. My mom had the chimichanga with green chili and she loved it! She said the meat was not dry and the green chili was delicious. Our fave were the chips and salsa! We loved the salsa so much, we bought a pint to take with us on our trip. As for the restaurant, the atmosphere was very upbeat, colorful, and full of culture. The inside is a little small, but when we went about 11am on a Thursday, it wasn't busy at all. Although, I did hear this place gets packed. Parking appeared very limited as this place is located in a small plaza area. Despite this, this restaurant is totally worth a try! My mom and I plan on coming back when we visit again!

Insanely delicious and what a great portion size. We were a bit surprised to learn chips and salsa are an extra charge which is not like most Mexican restaurants. I especially like the red and could have bought a gallon of it. We thought our server was attentive and friendly and the food and drinks came out pretty quick. They have some very cool Day of the Dead style artwork on the walls which was fun to look at.

After looking around downtown a bit and finding long wait times we decided to try our old favorite Indian spot that is sort of hidden away from the main downtown strip. We got in right away. Food came out steaming hot. We ordered: - Mango Milkshake (5/5) unlike a typical American milkshake that is extra thick, this is more thinned down and easy to drink and also very delicious with the fresh mango taste. Think of it more as a Kefir style drink in terms of thickness, but it doesn't have the tang of the yogurt in kefir. - TANDOORI: SHEESH KABAB - Spice Level 2 (3/5) Minced lamb, marinated in spices and skewered over red hot charcoal, served with mint chutney & onion. The lamb sounded really good so I decided to give this a try and it just wasn't my thing. It was a little dry and chewy didn't have the flavor I was looking for. Wouldn't order again. - DAAL TADKA Spice Level 4 (5/5) - Yellow lentils cooked into a thick soup with tomatoes and garden herbs. Delicious hearty and flavorful. My daughter ordered it as a spice level four which is perfect for her but a bit too much heat for me. - LAMB VINDALOO Spice Level 3 (5/5) Lamb meat cooked in hot spices with a highly seasoned gravy of potatoes, tomatoes & chili pepper. Always hub's go to favorite. - LAMB SAAG - Spice Level 2 (5/5) Lamb meat cooked in spinach & a mildly spiced gravy. my daughter loves lamb and she said this was delicious. I tried it as well and loved it. Tender chunks of lamb in a yummy gravy. - MURG MAKHANI / BUTTER CHICKEN - Spice Level 3 (4/5) - Tandoori chicken cooked in butter and special tomato gravy. My daughter's boyfriend said this is really good. I tried a few bites. It was OK, but I prefer the gravy used for the lamb. - GARLIC NAAN (x3) - Naan with a touch of garlic. Scrumptious. I'd come back any day just for this delicious naan bread. We saw on the window out front when we left that they have stopped doing their Sunday lunch buffet.
