Although I still love Judson Nail Salon and will more than likely return, I felt a need to leave a review regarding the service I received today. I was a walk in and they were short staffed with only 4 nail techs. Upon my signing in, I was told there would be an hour to hour and half wait. I had no issue with that and had a few emails to respond to, etc while I wait. The man Joy, that sits at the first station asked me to sit to do my nails after waiting roughly 40 mins or so. I was excited because I tried to get him to do my nails before based on the reviews and he pushed me off on others in the salon which wasn't a disappointment either. He was able to do my nails this time and I like them. No issue there. He was gentle and didn't cut me. Now here's where things get fuzzy. I was told there would be a little bit of a wait for my Pedicure, again no issue. They were busy and taking their appropriate time in getting their clients out which I appreciate them not rushing but working efficiently. Once my tech (her name was Olivia) came to work on my pedicure she was nice at first until after painting two of my toes I asked for a polish change. She gave an annoyed look to which I apologized. Then asked me what is wrong with the polish. I replied and said, I don't like the way the color look on my skin tone and feel I need something lighter. She "snatched", yes snatched the polish from the side table and proceeded to speak in her native language to the tech next to her and grabbed the book of colors for me to select another color. It was rude and uncalled for and very unprofessional. Especially, when it's obvious I was being talked about for switching my color. I hope this review invokes a changed attitude and will be mindful about this particular nail tech on future visits. I gave a 5 star rating on my first 2 visits. This time I'm giving a 3 star rating for the 4 hours I was there for a mani/pedi and rude nail tech. read more

Arrived at nail salon at 407pm. No one greeted me. No one even asked me what I needed until I was here for about 20 min. No one gave me a color chart to even pick out my color. However, when a group of about 5 ladies came in, they were greeted and hand color charts. So the owner calls me over to his station. He asks what color do I want. I informed him that I was never given a color chart to review. His response: "We gave it to you now". Then, i said to him.... well I am not ready bc I didn't have it beforehand. This establishment is awesome! I've visited many of nail salons all over San Antonio and none compare to them when it comes to customer service. John, Olivia, and Tammy are the best. They use top notch material. I've gotten acrylic sets where the acrylic would lift after only a week with them I could literally go 6+weeks without a fill and my acrylic never lifts. And I am speaking from experience I have actually went 6wks with the same set and not one lift. Their work is phenomenal! Many designs and styles to choose from or bring your own and they can execute it! They also do not rush they take their time no matter how many customers come in. We set up a 1:30 appointment to get pedicures and our daughter got a manicure as well. There was 5 of us. We arrived early 3 of us got seated about 1:20 and the other two about 15 minutes later. They started working on my entire family for their pedicures except myself. I get it they might've been short staffed however we did come together and I waited in a seat for 50 minutes with still no acknowledgment. They sat a lady next to me and asked if she wanted some water or anything and I didn't get offered that. I didn't even get offered their "menu" they have to show colors or type of pedicures they give. So after waiting I got up and left and waited in the car for my family to finish. I'm very understanding so I do think some acknowledgment would've been better than none at all. After my family is done we stayed and talked about the experience for about 5 minutes in their parking lot and my family said their nail technicians were amazing and did a great job. However, after we have left my husband got a phone call and text from John stating that my mother in law and nephew didn't pay for their pedicures and that he needs to come back and pay or they are going to charge his card and make a police report.... My mother in law was told when she went to go pay that "they paid for it" and that was it. She walked out with my nephew and daughter and nothing was said. My husband called John back and explained the miscommunication with HIS STAFF and how his mom would be back to pay and John decided to get loud and just speak to my husband wrong cause of his staffs mistake. With no apology on how he came across via voicemail or text message. So overall we won't be back and would not recommend. They overbook and don't staff enough clearly. Then when they make a mistake instead of listening and apologizing we got attacked after letting them know where they messed up. It's not like my mother in law ran out of their business with two kids and did this deliberately to get threatened with calling the police.... Bad customer service for sure.
