He'd leave us be to go back and forth on our decision making but was also readily available when we had questions. Update: the manager contacted me to hopefully make this right. Purchased a refrigerator, washer and dryer. I wanted to go to a company that would offer The personal touch in the purchase and stand behind their products. The washer did not work correctly from the start so I contacted my salesperson who told me to contact service. The washer needs two different electrical components. I contacted the salesperson to explain the outcome and felt brushed off. Was not the service or quality of appliances I expected. Despite their competitive prices, I would go to Costco in the future as they stand behind the products they sell. read more

I normally try to use local companies if I can. So, when I needed some new kitchen appliances for one of my rental properties, I contacted Michael H. at the Everett Judd and Black. Michael helped me pick out some appliances and on December 23rd, I gave him a credit card number to order them. Michael told me at the time that the supply chain was in bad shape and that the appliances would not be in until the 3rd week of January, but that they would be installed by the end of the month. I was leaving for 6 weeks, so I reluctantly agreed to the timeline, confident that the appliances would be installed before I returned, and I could get a renter in the unit. I got back into town on February 16th and found out that the appliances were not installed yet. I called Michael to see what was up and his response was, "Oh, yeah. I meant to call you. The appliances are delayed, and the new delivery date is March 6th. I hate the supply chain." He then told me that they have other appliances that are in stock that they could install quickly. Why was that option not offered initially? I have a rental unit sitting empty with no income from it, waiting for appliances. I immediately went online to Costco.com and found appliances that would work. They were in stock, and the install team could deliver them and install them within 4 days. Plus, they came with a better warranty and the total was over $400 less than Judd and Black! I ordered them and went in to see Michael to cancel my order and get a refund. Business is not complicated. Customers come to you with a problem, and they give you money to resolve that problem. Simple. Things go wrong occasionally. When that happens, own the problem and communicate it to your customers and then come up with a solution. And apologize when you mess up. Don't ignore the problem and hope that it goes away. read more

Hi! I called last week to order a new stove (exciting, necessary!) and maybe a new fridge. I was going over the $200 difference in list price and installed price (30% of item)- was told in a very sarcastic way to "feel free to pick them up myself". No- walkthrough (or frankly sales) of of buying new power cords, install and removal. The person I spoke had zero tact and zero professional demeanor. Look, I'm sorry if I interrupted you zoning out, but that + the reviews here sent me to "Flows" for a smaller price tag and customer service I already expect very little from. If you want to promote friendly, caring professionals= then you need to supply them. As is, you are out a range sale (and maybe a fridge). An updated review (installation). The Judd and Black installation crew came to install the new refrigerator. They had called just as promised to let us know about their arrival time and arrived on time. The installation crew (Adam and Jacob) were absolute professionals. They took the time to make sure they assessed the complete installation and removal process, including protecting furniture and removing doors as needed to ensure no damage to our property and no damage to the new appliance. They took the time to make sure that everything was installed correctly and double-checked all connections and final assembly processes. It is not often now a days to see professionals actually take pride in what they do. These two gentlemen took pride in their job and made sure that the company reputation was held on high. The installation and removal are by the same crew, and they are employees of Judd and Black, not a subcontractor like those of the big box stores. I would definitely recommend shopping and purchasing appliances and especially having them perform the installation. read more

Still waiting to get my appliance(s) fixed for years now....service person has been out 4 times only to have wrong part. Faulty product(s) and Judd and Black doesn't seem to care. Can someone w/in Judd and Black actually get me the oven I purchased that works??? I would rate it zero stars if I could. They also failed to help when their tech scratched my wood floors because they didn't put down a protective sheet when repairing my refrigerator. I sent repeated emails to the manager and him telling me they would "fix" it", only to ghost me. Also manager telling me "it sometimes happens that the brand new refrigerator door comes dented" as if I should just accept a damaged brand new appliance. Whatever you do, don't let Gio help you. We were looking for a duel fuel stove, electric oven with gas burners. He had one that was discontinued and a model that was replacing it. Texted a few days later to set up a time to look at them. Only one was in stock, the discontinued one. But it was in Bellingham. Drove an hour and a half to get there. Looked at it and talked to a sales person. Asked if the heating element was hidden, he said yes. Thought nothing of it. Bought it and the extended warranty, and paid $150 to have it converted to LP. A week later it was ready for pickup in Everett. Loaded, unloaded, wrestled it into the house, unwrapped it and no 220v connection. Told Gio how disappointed we were and he told me to contact Bellingham. Seems that the initial contact with Gio was the path we went down, and not some other salesperson. Both missed what we were actually looking for. Don't know if it was a bait and switch, but the very least it was poor communication and a lack of professionalism. $4,500 later we now have a full gas stove. Buyer beware. read more

Our washer and dryer are roughly 10 years old and making a lot of noises. We thought about getting them repaired but decided to buy new. We went to Judd&Black to see what they had. Prior to going in, we looked at reviews and did see several where customers complained overpromising and underdeliverying. We took note and went in. Found what we wanted. The sales representative checked the warehouse to see if what they had in stock. We were told they have approximately 80 washer/dryers so it souldn't be a problem. Set up delivery, paid and left. Fast forward 1 week and the sales rep called and told us the dryer arrived but the washer didn't. They had to order one from Florida. He couldn't give us an approximate arrival date. After consulting with my wife, we decided to cancel and go elsewhere. The reviews were accurate, overpromise and underdelivering seems to be the motto for the Everett store. Additionally, when I called to cancel, the sales rep took a screw you approach; very rude. Given the number of bad reviews, no cars in the parking lot and not really any customers in the store, I don't see Judd&Black surviving past the next 5 years if they don't do something to improve. We'll never go back. I would give less then a 1 star rating if I could!!! read more

I work 24 hour shifts and got home from work one morning a couple weeks ago to find my refrigerator was no longer staying cold. Fair enough, the manufacturers date on the fridge said April 2011, so after 13 years I'd say it did its job quite well. Called up Judd and Black to see what they had in stock. Went in and looked at a couple of different refrigerators, found one that I liked that was on sale but they didn't have it in stock. Asked how long it would take to get and they said 3 weeks, which was way too long and all of the food in my fridge would've spoiled by then. I looked elsewhere nearby and Home Depot, Lowes, Costco as well as several other stores had shipping dates that were only 2-3 days out. I asked the employee about this and he said something to the effect of all retail stores are going to ship from the same factory and will have the same shipping times. Ended up calling Albert Lee in Lynnwood, of which they had a new floor model I bought a few hours later and had up and running later on that afternoon. I also inquired with them about how long it would take for them to ship me a brand new fridge, of which they were also only a couple dates out for delivery. I'm not sure if the guy from Judd and Black wasn't being honest with me or not, but it seemed odd that everyone else could have the fridge delivered in 2-3 days whereas they were 3+ weeks out. Oh well, I didn't stick around long enough to find out, I would and did take my money elsewhere. read more

After dealing with a horrific experience trying to get an oven from a different retailer, I called this store to see if they can help us get one. Matt Geers was our salesperson. Being in sales for many years, I know how hard it is to get a truly amazing person to employ for this tough job. He is exceptional. He listened to our wants, found us an oven that I'm actually really excited about, and we walked out of the store feeling relieved. I feel that he never once tried to sell us anything we weren't going to be happy with for our personal needs. It's going to be a bit of a wait to get it due to pandemic issues, but really it was his logic and reasoning that calmed me down and made me realize it was worth waiting for. In February of 2021 we purchased a Electrolux washer and Dryer and we love it! We purchased our first appliances from Judd &Black in 1977 and have continued to purchase all our appliances since then because the brands they choose to sell are reliable, and they provide friendly and prompt support for them through their service department. When we worked with Matt Beck to find a replacement for our old washer and dryer we could not get the Electrolux model we wanted in a timely matter because their production had been affected by the Covid Pandemic. So Matt helped us find a good alternative. However for the alternative to work in our laundry room they needed to be mounted on a pedestal. But the pedestals were on back order also. Some how before the pedestals we ordered came Judd & Black received a shipment of the Electrolux machines that we really wanted, and Matt called us right away to see if we wanted to switch our purchase and get the Electrolux machines. We had already paid for the alternative machines but Matt was willing to redo the paper work, because nothing had been delivered to us. Yes Matt's final sale was lowered because We saved $300.00 by getting the Electrolux products we really wanted. But Matts sale will pay off in dividends because we will continue to consider Judd & Black first for any of our future needs, and we will recommend them to our friends and family. Worst appliance company Ever. Read the reviews. If it went well, they are liked. If there was a service issue then you see the comments that they never fixed the issue. We bought a Side by Side refrigerator, Electric Stove, Dish Washer and below cabinet microwave. Items were delivered damaged. Installer noted damage and called the store while on site. Installer wrote down the damages on the delivery invoice and stated that they would make it right. Stove has huge gash on the side. Microwave time display doesn't display proper and fridge doors were scratched and dented. We trusted the installer who called in the damages but should not have. If you get a item from Judd and Black and it is not 100 percent, SEND IT BACK. They have never made it right. Multiple calls and Emails and they are simple the worst. We will never shop there again for any brand or any deal. We spent money on expensive models only to have them be the worst we have ever owned. Please do not trust that they will make anything right after they leave with anyone. read more

I needed to buy appliances for the first time in my life. The house I bought had original appliances in it from 1996, and prior to this I've always lived in apartments. So this was the first time ever buying major appliances. The 1996 appliances have surprisingly been good all these years, but in December I noticed my refrigerator didn't feel cool so I decided it was time to get a new one. I learned quickly shopping for appliances was very mixed and hit and miss, and on the recommendation of a few friends decided to try Judd & Black. I called and talked to Brian Fenimore. He was friendly and knowledgeable as any good salesperson should be, and informed me of the shortages of appliances due to COVID, which I hadn't even considered. We popped down to the Everett store to meet with Brian and go over our options. We were lucky that the refrigerator we wanted was in stock. We also decided to get a new range and dishwasher while we were at it so everything matched as we went from white to black stainless. Brian never tried to pressure us or rush us and was very patience while we decided between various models. The purchasing process went as expected, and we setup a delivery date for the refrigerator for the following week, which was the first week in January. The range was way backordered and Brian estimated probably April or May, since our range still worked, it wasn't an issue. On New Year's Eve, the refrigerator went out. I emailed Brian and asked if the date could be moved up, he said they had availability the day before, so we took it. On the first delivery day, the guys called in the morning saying they would be there in about 45 minutes. They were. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and worked quickly and efficiently removing the old fridge and installing the new. They tested to make sure everything was working and left. The next week the dishwasher was delivered and installed. The guy called and gave a time range, but called and said he was available earlier if we were home. He too was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and got everything hooked up and running perfectly. Fast forward to mid March. I got a call from Brian letting me know the range came in early, and could be delivered next week. On the morning of delivery I got a call letting me know a time of 11:45-2:45. They arrived around 12:30, were also friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They worked quickly and got everything installed and tested and left. My experience was a good one with Judd & Black. Brian was always friendly and responsive. He always answered my emails or called me back. Of note, the three deliveries were all excellent. I am happy I chose Judd & Black, and will do so again when I replace the washer, dryer, and microwave. Time will tell now how long the appliances last, and if there are any service issues, but based on my experience so far, I feel pretty confident they will take care of me. read more

We purchased new top of the line Maytag washer and dryer 5yrs ago with a 5 yr extended warranty. Just less than 5 yrs the washer stopped starting and the Judd & Black service call said it needed a new control board, but it was no longer available. They just said sorry and left me to junk it! DONT EVER BUY MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS! Big disappointment. We bought a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher all from Judd and Black along with a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately, the refrigerator needed repair after 15 months. It happens, I get it. Nearly one month later after calling numerous times to find out the status of repairs, being told I would get a new refrigerator, but then having a repairman call me to say the parts would be sent directly to me (huh), I still do not have a working refrigerator or parts. I expected a lot better from a local company, in fact we made a point of buying from Judd and Black, thinking they would stand by their service and products, it has been one giant mess from beginning to end and at this point I think I might have been better off at the big box store where prices are lower and they don't pretend to offer customer service. read more

He took everything apart easily and even helped me remove the front glass so that I could clean it. He was thorough and shared tips and tricks to avoid future damage. Few solid reasons for the single star: - Website allowed purchase of product not in stock - Customer service (initially) was not polite, un-helpful and did very little to foster up a reasonable solution (I'm guess not empowered to do so) - Took a few days to refund money, without any follow-up from the store (zero engagement from their end) - $200 install up-charge; many local appliances companies offer delivery, haul away & install for free. Something to consider when figuring out budget & where to buy. Initially, Judd & Black seemed like a good choice because their prices were competitive; but once into the details, hidden fees and poor customer service it's clear they were the wrong choice. This year because of COVID I had to wait for my appliances and installation longer than usual. I understand the reasons behind the delays. What I don't understand is the obvious lack of communication from my salesman concerning the delay. He apparently was "on vacation" and no one covered for him? Bought a very expensive refrigerator $3900) at the Everett location 3 years ago. Purchased the 5 year extended warranty at the time. Have had 5 service calls for different breakdowns. Each time I lost $300-400 worth of food and lived out of 5-6 coolers and bought $100 of dollars in dry ice to make it through the 2-3 weeks for their service department to fix. Still doesn't work. Fridge has never gotten below 40 degrees in entire time I have owned. They said I bought it and I own it. All they can do is send a repair man do what the warranty center tells them to. Don't ever buy Maytag and certainly don't ever buy at Judd and Black. Would have been treated better by a big box store. read more

They have some expensive appliances which is a bit offsetting. It great customer service and they have own repair crew. Appliances aren't what they used to be so when I got one a couple years ago I purchased extended warranty. For no particular it started to fail. I called Judd and Black and they had repair people out very quickly and got parts and handled the warranty communications with GE the appliance manufacturer. After a couple of attempted it would not stay fixed and they worked with GE to get it warranty replaced and I just had to walk into the store to pick a new one. A few days later they swapped it out in my home and got rid of the broken one. read more

So far, they've been great to deal with. I needed to order a replacement Subzero refrigerator and separate freezer to replace two 25 year old units. Of course the new units are 12" taller than the current ones so cabinet modifications will be required. They offered suggestions on how to get this done which went beyond just the sale of the appliances. Looks like there's about a 12 month lead time on the Subzero appliances, but that's not the fault of Judd & Black. There customer service has been outstanding so far. read more

We spent the weekend looking for a fridge. And just to be clear, this wasn't one for our usual "hey, what's the worst way to spend big money?" shopping sprees. No no. You see, fair reader, we own an LG fridge. Which is to say that our ice cream is runny, and on warm days the fridge needs to take long breaks with a cool cloth on its forehead where it isn't cooling the food inside at ALL. After the 4th repair on our 3 year old fridge I was done. And we went back to the same place we bought our temperamental little darling (why do I DO that?). After chasing down sales people in the chain stores and being told that the fridge we wanted (that was right there, price sticker on) was not available in the warehouse and had no ETA, and that our second choice was available in July ("hopefully"), I was no longer feeling the joy that is large appliance shopping. We walked into Judd and Black and immediately the sales force greeted us. Like a lion, sensing the weakened gazelles who carefully edge toward the waterhole (wishing they had ice. But they haven't been able to have ice since it's been so warm, what with the fridge feeling so poorly.), a salesman approached. "Hi, I'm Chris. Can I help you find anything?" I wanted to do that super creepy,passive-aggressive move where I use his name in a sentence 6 times inside of 1 minute but I just didn't have the energy. "We're looking for a fridge, Chris." He asked for specifics, and I snapped out the model number of the GE fridge we had been admiring at the other stores. (The ones that had the fridge right there, alllll stickered up, but had no way of getting the fridge.) I added "I already know you don't have it and can't get it. So what is LIKE it? Chris." And Chris said (wait for it): "you mean this fridge?" No. Way. "Shut the front door, Chris!" I said, feeling the tiniest ray of hope (in what I had started to believe was an entirely sorbet-free existence). And it was THE fridge. It's a thing of beauty. Not an LG, stainless, ice maker, not an LG, the holy light of the angels coming from the rear, water dispenser, copper fuel injectors, radiant cam shaft, and it's not an LG. But this is sales, and I wanted to play it cool. "When can I have it?" I asked, cooly. I was expecting July, and was mentally preparing myself for a summer with no fridge when he said it might be a week. Happy dance. We did the money thing and were out of there less than an hour after we walked in. We bought a very nice fridge. And it was $100 more at J&B than their non local competition. That is a very small difference for an expensive appliance. The store is clean and inviting, the sales staff knowledgeable and friendly, it's a local company and they HAD THE FRIDGE. Worth every penny. The fridge just got here, (3 days before promised) and it is a thing of beauty. I hugged it. I wish I were kidding. The delivery guys were polite and professional, telling me to call Chris if there are any issues. Judd and Black is my new appliance store, and Chris is my kids new godfather. read more

It must be challenging to be a salesperson today, especially considering Covid. I would imagine any salesperson strives for a successful sale, a swift delivery, and a happy client. But there are so many variables to juggle, the chances of 100% success seems almost impossible. That's when you need someone like Brian Fee in your corner. My process in ordering a new fridge, range, and dishwasher was not 100% successful, but Brian made up for all the hiccups. There was a delay (covid), a last minute change of mind (on my part), and unfortunately a scratch on one of the appliances. I understood the minor delay on one appliance, and Brian immediately took care of the last two elements. I received a $100 off for the scratch AND a replacement (door of fridge). Judd & Black had the piece replaced and installed only a few weeks later. Also Brian completely took care of my last minute change of the appliance handles. J&B upsaled me to a more expensive fridge because they did not have the one I ordered weeks before, I needed anything, we were living out of a cooler, so I agreed. Also got a washer and dryer. Brand new. Came damaged, dent in the top and dings on the side. I paid for the 5 year warranty too. Its been 2 months and no word from them when this is going to be fixed. But got another bill from them in the mail after I already FULLY paid for my items. Why should I pay anything when I have a warranty first of all. 2nd of all nothing has been fixed! I would have saved thousands going elsewhere and would have had better service. Don't go here unless you want to over pay and never get your appliances fixed. read more
