First time home buyers, new build. We started our purchase process in April of 2021, we went into the store in May and were told they had a 6 week lead time. No problem, house is a ways out so they said they'd place the order as things got closer. We decided in June we didn't want to risk it and asked them to get the order jn. We were wrong, should of gone in January apparently. We just received our last appliance today. Through the process every time the appliances were due we would call to check (we weren't being proactively updated) and be told it's a new date. This happened more times than I can count. So much we cancelled part of our order but kept the rest in as we didn't want to start again elsewhere. But I guess that's what they are hoping for, you fear going somewhere else and starting over again. Now fast forward a few MONTHS, we get the call our fridge is in!!! Great news right? Wrong, they can't deliver it for another month. This whole time we were told at most 10 days after it arrived and now it's a month!! I rented a trailer and had a buddy help me pick it up. Based on the experience so far, that month would of become months. If you have no problem waiting, want to hear delay after delay and no real dates, this is your place. Otherwise go elsewhere. Now before you say those five letters (COVID), it's not just about the delays. It's about expectation management. If you can't deliver to your commitments than you shouldn't be selling it. By this time you know who are reliable suppliers, or you can buy some inventory and keep it on hand. We were essentially sold vaporware. PS, our fridge had issues too. Waiting on parts to address them. Who knows when those will come in. It's been a week and no update. read more

I went in to purchase a refrigerator and the salesperson Devon was helpful that day. I paid in full that day with a delivery date. It was back ordered and he said he put on his calendar to check on it 2 weeks prior to the projected delivery date. I was told that if I don't hear anything it will be a-go. I didn't hear anything so the day before the delivery date I asked when I should make sure I'm home. I was told my another sales rep that they didn't see it on any delivery manifest. I left a message...three times (one voice mail and 2 handwritten notes supposedly put on Devon's desk) and no call back. About 10 minutes before their closing, I called back again and the person who answered was apologetic that he hadn't called back. He said he didn't have any notes on his calendar to check on the purchase and it was now pushed out another month! Mind you, I went 2 months without a refrigerator at this point. There was no accountability and no apology. He said I was welcome to cancel the order. I asked about any kind of credit for the interest I paid or perhaps waiving a delivery fee. He said I can ask the manager. I canceled my order and got a refrigerator from Albert Lee that weekend. I have a condo to purchase all new appliances and I don't believe I will go back to J&B as long as he's there. Horrible customer service. I was also told by a friend of the owners that I would get a call. That was 2 months ago. No call. I didn't want to do this review because I don't like putting companies on blast, but all the ads for J&B on my TV upsets me all over again. read more

Update: it's now May 17th (7 months later) and while I email asking for updates and get no news, I still have no refrigerator though I've paid in full. I asked to be refunded until I get the product and was told I could probably get 50% back but no follow on action was taken. I assume this means I have to call or visit to make things right vs them proactively doing so? Please note that I did get a call from the manager after the previous review saying he'd take personal care and follow up on this but let's just say I haven't heard from him since and ONLY get an email reply with no real news and if I email the salesman first. If these darn refrigerators weren't such random sizes and we didn't build our kitchen around this one, I'd go elsewhere for customer service. read more

This post is to recognize the efforts made by Judd&Black service personnel and management to expedite a maintenance/ repair request. Glad that such issue had been resolved with minimal inconvenience and material cost. To Taylor, Cheryl, Jeff, and all others involved in expediting our urgent concern, my hats off to you guys. I rated one star because I couldn't post anything lower. Installation of a dishwasher and garbage disposer was a nightmare that left my family with an ILLEGAL installation, exposing us to noxious and potentially combustible sewer fumes. Couldn't possibly be more disappointed, and this after spending over $5,000 on a suite of appliances. Given there's no guarantee you'll be provided the services of a COMPETENT installation professional I'd suggest you run, do not walk, away from Judd & Black for any form of installation. If paying for third party installation makes the purchase unaffordable, SHOP SOMEWHERE ELSE! Update: I contacted J&B Service and explained the situation to the manager who was the picture of professionalism, apologized for the installation, refunded the installation fee and immediately made arrangements to have corrections made by a licensed plumber. It was handled today and is now safe and in compliance with the UPC and state requirements. I hope they ensure proper methods are reviewed with in-house installation specialists so future projects are hassle-free for all concerned. read more

I ordered a high end, very expensive refrigerator that did not even last 24 hours before I had to call for a service appointment. I chose Judd and Black because they have in house service but I did no know that scheduling is such a hassle. They will not schedule you a window of arrival. They call between 8 and 10 that day to tell me when they arrive ( window of 2 hours) since I am working, I need to plan ahead to be able to take off to be home. This is impossible because I wont know until about 2 to 3 hours before they arrive. This means I will not buy anymore appliances form them. Best Buy is much better to schedule. Also when they delivered the new fridge and hauled away the old, they made two huge scratches in my new kitchen floor. Now I have to deal with them to get it fixed too. ( another appointment to schedule, arg!) I called the sales person Brian Fenimore, I bought the fridge from, but he was not even interested. As soon as I paid him, he reeled in the red carpet treatment. read more

Next time we will buy our appliances SOMEWHERE ELSE. Bought a Dacor refrigerator and other appliances . All were delivered on September 28th. Delivery guys did not secure the doors on the refrigerator, so as they were rolling the dolly the doors fell open and both were dented. Called and sent photos to our sales associate Grant. He said he would submit it immediately. This has happened to me before (not with Judd and Black) and they replaced the door in 2 or 3 weeks. Today is November 30.Over 2 months! I call our sales guy Grant. No explanation he doesn't know either. When did it get ordered? did it get ordered? I feel blown off. Like I am not getting the whole story. Called Dacor they don't understand why it has taken this long either. No one has any idea where these doors are. No tracking number. No one gives a s--t enough to call me and explain. Incredible. Meanwhile I am looking at these dents every day. Really regret not buying from another place. God forbid something breaks and I have to deal with these folks (bought warranty) ugh! read more

We recently visited Judd & Black in Everett to purchase a washer/dryer and had great experience working with Devin...again. We worked with him almost two years ago when we needed kitchen appliances so we were glad to be able to have him help us with the w/d. Devin knows his products and is just a great person to deal with. The delivery crew was on time, removed the old w/d and had the new set installed pretty quick. From Sales to Service-a disaster. Given dimensions of laundry closet, was assured by sales that appliances would fit. At delivery install, they did not. Machines w/o doors would have but of course got to include those doors! Installers were asked to change door swing but because of problem with fit, I forgot to remind them. Installer did say to call sales because service could put vent hose on the side of dryer. Cost to get another service call to do this was $200. When this man arrived, he was asked to also change the door swing of stacked washer & dryer so both opened the same way. Couldn't because it wasn't on the work order. Would require another $200 trip charge for 10 minutes of work. Called Nov. 1 after installer left to speak to store manager. Out of office but back the following day. 15 days later, still patiently waiting! Sad that this company has fallen so low. Such a dramatic difference since last purchase in spring 2020. Never again. Ordered range, microwave, dishwasher and refer including installation with another company. Hoping for better service this time when appliances are delivered and microwave, dishwasher and refer water hook up are installed. read more

Terrible experience: 38 days between purchase and final delivery of a working dishwasher. We waited 11 days for installation, but a damaged product was delivered. We waited another 5 days for a replacement (it would've been 8 days, but I pitched a fit). Second dishwasher worked only once before breaking down. Waited a week for a service "analysis". Parts were said to be ordered, but the Service Department "wasn't able to get hold of the company" and quit trying until I called a week later and the ordering process was started again. Finally parts arrived and the new dishwasher works. After 38 days, I'm more than irritated. I did all my own customer service, management did nothing until I "volunteered" to come in and fix the problem in the office myself or have the new dishwasher taken out of my home. No call to see if I'm satisfied after the drama, I'm not... After our extended warranty expires, so does our business. read more
