I came here tonight for some wall anchors and I love Home Depots Christmas decorations! I was here yesterday with my 3 year old son and he loves them too. But I gotta give people a heads up about something. They do not have stringed lights that have blue, green, red, yellow, AND purple. If you are not aware, purple is a color that makes the rest of the colors look some much more vibrant. It complements them. I included videos and pictures showing just what i'm talking about. Home depot even carries a fake tree that comes with colorful lights that include purple attached. It is in a video I made, you can see the tree has blue,green, red, yellow, AND purple lights and looks more brilliant than the other trees that don't have purple. Or the trees with just white lights. The other decorations are spectacular! Bravo Home Depot. Plants as well! Prices? Not too bad. But now i'm off to Walmart to see if they have a string of lights that has all the colors including purple. I'll get the wall anchor there too. EDIT/UPDATE: Walmart had them, make sure to get LED not incandescent unless you want your electric bill to be higher. This most recent experience is an example of why I stopped going to the home despot. I needed two, as in 2, items. One barcode was torn, so could not scan. FOUR incompetent booger-eaters could not look-up 5/8" 24x48 particle board. I don't know what Team of Twits™ programmed their point-of-sale system, but _nobody_ was able to find this utterly basic product. Either the people who wrote the software are deeply, profoundly incompetent, or the local staff is. I can't tell, I don't care, and it doesn't matter. It took well over TWENTY minutes to check-out. In short: You must know what you're getting yourself into if you decide to shop here. They act like a hardware store, kinda, but in truth they're just a big home-goods store with a large hardware section. In long: One neighbor and I share a long fence line that was well past its lifespan. He has little ones that need play space, so he cleared out his backyard to get ready to put in play areas. When he got a good look at the fence, he called me up and offered to build it if I bought the materials. We got bids just to make sure this made financial sense, which it did. On the opposite side of my property, at the same time, another neighbor and I hired a contractor to build almost as much fence. This taught me a bit about the differences between hardware stores (which do still thrive around here) and big chain retail stores like HD. A couple weeks ago we came in, bought all the stuff we needed, and today we returned the stuff that was left over. I've been here several times otherwise, along with some of their other locations. 1. Checking out takes way longer than it should, even for the things you have physically present in your cart. We spent an hour in the checkout lane...and my boy did ALL THE SHOPPING before we met at the register. Dude fumbled around for a while and went on break before he finished ringing us out. His replacement complained loudly to people behind us that she had called for a backup cashier who hadn't arrived. Other than that, she was fine, but nobody likes loud, passive-aggressive grumbles. Especially not when they're just directed generally at the room...and she did that over and over. 2. We bought stuff in bulk, which does save you about 10%. So we had leftover lumber, brackets, etc. Returning it took 2 hours today. And they hadn't even unloaded my boy's trailer when we were done ringing out...they just counted the returned items and sent the tally to the return desk. Before he could go home, 2+ hours after arriving, he still had to wait for a forklift to come offload the stuff we returned. 3. If you're just buying lawn furniture or smaller items, you check out like you would at the supermarket. That's what they optimize the store for. 4. They hint around with vague language that they stock what you need to do the best work you can, but they really don't. Not only can you not get 4.25" 4x4s, you can't even get 4" 4x4s. In this climate, the weather damage comes day after day forever, so you want sturdy stuff that will last. It's not about surviving a harsh storm every year, it's about longevity. At HD you get 3.5" 4x4s. Cheaper, but definitely not as durable or sturdy. They cut you short across all kinds of items this way throughout the store. In the end, my neighbor and I were happy enough to keep costs down. We both had/have more fence lines that need attention at the same time, so spending less was a necessary evil. Just know that the extra money that stays in your pocket comes at the cost of poorer materials and long days at the store (both coming and going). read more

I made an online order for some carpet on 2/18. I was told that the delivery would take 3-5 business days. 5 business days later and my order was updated to be delivered on 2/27. It is now 3/6 and I still don't have my order and the only update online that I have is "your order may not be delivered as promised". Yes maybe this isn't Home Depot's fault but the company they order from but what is Home Depot's fault is when I call not once, not twice but 6 times on 5 different days and every time all they can say is "a manager will call you in the next couple hours" I talked to 4 different "managers" who all said they'd give me a call within the next couple hours and not a single one did. I'm over waiting for my order at this point they are going to give me a refund. Absolute joke of management at this place the only thing that saved it from being 0 stars is the fact that customer service had to constantly apologize for their management or lack their of. Bought a 2 piece Ryobi kit (blower, weed Wacker) when scanned it didn't show in their system. Cashier went to where item was caged and scanned store tag. Then went to computer and manually entered corresponding info and off I went. After charging totally empty battery (not normal) I put on blower and it was dead within 15 min. Charged it again and again ran for 15 minutes not cool. So surprisingly I still have the box after 2 weeks I went to return the product. Not at all satisfied. Well without thinking I realized after they tried to scan the box and it did not match the receipt it dawned on me would have taken place. Okay well they made a mistake now it needs to be fixed. Nope three employees later I finally get the assistant manager. He informs me that since it's not the item on the receipt that he could not give me a refund that he could give me store credit. What? No I'm not okay with getting store credit for something I paid cash for. So he says that he's got to investigate into this. Okay so how long is that going to take oh two or three days he says. Okay well it's been 5 days and I haven't heard word one and I'm assuming that they think that I stole this or something fraudulent cuz that's what he said the second time I went in there trying to get the store manager instead of an assistant manager. We have a lot of fraud that goes on with these things I said oh so you're telling me that I'm being fraudulent? This is left me with such a bad taste in my mouth if you guys have employees that are doing stupid things now that I think about it it was a stupid thing why would you sell a product that isn't in your system.? Bought Sears warranty from Home Depot for a Samsung washer. Washer bearing went out last year before Christmas 2024. Sears Warranty sends out tech the day before Christmas. Tech reports bad bearing and we wait for warranty to schedule service. January scheduled service no one shows Richard, AI virtual assistant reports "due to unforeseen circumstances, we will not be able to have a technician available today to service your appliance" 6 scheduled appointments and the same no show from techs due to unforeseen circumstances. Called Home Depot and they told us to call Samsung, we bought the warranty and washer from Home Depot. Do not purchase any appliance warranty from Home Depot. They don't support the warranty they sell or the appliances. We now purchase our appliances from Lowe's and they have their own warranty service department. read more

Just wanted to comment on how horrible the customer service is at this location. I purchased three of their holiday plants; there was a 4-inch and two 6-inch plants. One of the 6-inch plants did not have a price tag and we asked the guy working the checkout area if he could ring the second one in, the price was the same because price was based on the diameter of the holiday planter. To our surprise he "compared" and said they were "almost" the same. HAHAHAHAHA WHAT. Needless to say, I said never mind and chose not to purchase the second one. I went to get some stain for my deck that needs a refresher with Olympic Timberline tint, the paint guy Matt mixed it up fast but I thought the base color was wrong, when I went to use it it was way too light. I had 2 gallons with the tag that said no returns so I thought I could lose out on almost $100. Lucky I had a sample made at the Lynnwood Home Depot and It showed base 2, when I went back they had paint department verify the color, well come to find out there is 2 different shades of Timberline. They honored the return and mixed up the right tint. They did the right thing with there customer but Olympic needs create a different name for the shade. read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I went it for a torch, first off very difficult to find since everything is locked up. Second it took me 5 minutes just to be able to get in contact with someone which I was told they didn't have a key so I was sent to a different group of workers on the other side of the store. There I waited another 5-7 minutes on the person who had the said "key" which they never even ended up showing up. One of the other workers had to stop someone passing by who apparently also had access. Not to mention I did bring this up to the worker who did end up getting me the torch which she promptly hit me with the "we are busy and they didn't call me". These people at Home Depot have a hell of a scam going on if you order custom windows. They tell me that my windows will be about a month out but that if we go with this other manufacturer who is a bit more expensive we should be at closer to two weeks. As I am in a hurry to beat the coming fall weather I opt to spend the extra money. Now after a couple of weeks I am told that my windows are about a month out. When I went to order the windows there was no one in the department to help me. I couldn't find anyone else to ask to call someone, so I finally called the store and asked them to send someone. They assured me that they would. After some time passed I grabbed a gentleman from lumber and explained my situation, he looked at his little hand computer and said such and such are both supposed to be working the area today. He said he would find someone. After some time later a trainee who was supposed to be learning from the other guy who called in said he would be unable to assist me in a custom order. So I suggested that surely the manager was competent in such things and could assist me? He informed me that this was not the case. So this delayed me even further as it took several days before I could make it back to the store. I'm not a happy camper! read more

Everett HD. I was referred to a Home Depot "Pro-referral" to level floors prior to putting in LVP HD flooring. The manager said, "we back up there work" I had one out and he did the WORSE JOB EVER! I went back and spoke with the assistant mgr. He assured me that they would handle this, I showed him photos etc. A while later he called to tell me that there was NOTHING that he could do, because this is not an employee. Yet, HD referred him to me as a PRO. I asked how HD Vetted these referral pro's. They only need to be licensed, bonded and insured. This "pro" had an employee, but his license doesn't cover any employees. HD doesn't even know this! I don't think they do even a poor job of vetting Pro's. More like NO job at all. Later he called to give me a number to call and over a month has gone by, I have yet to get a call back from them. I have called several times. DO NOT USE ANY OF THE REFERRED PRO'S that are not employed by HD! They are NOT Vetted or backed by HD. read more

It's a hard job at times. I've been there and I've actually worked in a Home Depot store. It can be thankless and challenging and customers can be rude for no reason. My wife and I purchased a new Kitchenaid dishwasher the day before Thanksgiving November 22nd and the soonest it could be delivered and installed was today, Friday December 1st. I took the entire day off from my work in order to be available for the four hour window of opportunity. I should also mention I have already received the billing for this appliance on my Home Depot Card and it hasn't even been installed yet! You would think the billing process would be after installation! The driver and appliance installer team showed up at my home at 1:20 PM, unloaded the carton and opened it only to discover that due to poor packaging and handling by the manufacturer, the top tray that holds dishes was broken into multiple pieces and made this appliance worthless. The delivery/installer service called their number to inquire about a replacement and was on hold for at least 20 minutes. Rather than wait any longer, they left for their next install appointment while still on hold and promised me they would call and update me. 4 hours later, I have not heard from them. I went to this Home Depot to see if I could get some answers at the customer service desk. If it weren't for Alvin's helpful assistance at the service desk, I would have cancelled my $850 order immediately and gone elsewhere! He also waited on hold for an extended period of time and finally said he would call me when he could update the delivery status. It appears Home Depot has contracted with a company that does not staff their phones to give any level of service even to the store itself or their own employees! Alvin called me 30 minutes later saying that after speaking with their service supplier, nothing could be done until Monday to expedite the appliance installation. The recent black Friday sale has them slammed for at least 2 weeks. From my experience at Home Depot today, there is nothing better than supporting your local mom & pop appliance store and avoid the headaches of dealing with the contracted services that Home Depot supplies. The $50 I saved was not worth this resulting headache. The only positive is receiving genuine customer service from Alvin. UPDATE: It gets worse! A representative called me and left a voicemail informing me that the soonest they could deliver and install would be December 19th! Almost a full month after we purchased the dishwasher, we are billed and unable to use it! The kitchen sink also can't be used due to no dishwasher drain hose attached to the disposal. Water pours into the cabinet. I am not impressed with such poor customer service after their own company failed to deliver a working product. Downgraded to one star! read more

Customer service is the worst. I scanned and paid for 30 cabinet pulls. There were no bags at the self service register and nothing posted. So I inquired about this to the service rep. She said we are out. I told her I paid for a bag and asked if I could have the bucket. She replied they are 4 bucks. How am I suppose to carry these items out of the store? She shrugged her shoulders and said I will call someone. Returns and tells me I can walk to the other side of the store for a box. I ask for my money back, with her smirk she says it is a card purchase register only. Zero help. Where to begin. Yesterday there were zero cashiers, and only one self-checkout booth item. That booth was held up by a customer because the machine did something stupid and required assistance. Utter garbage. I highly recommend staying FAR away from Home Depot if you need carpet or any type of flooring. The experience was a NIGHTMARE. After waiting for an hour to have someone help us, we scheduled an appointment to have someone measure. After that measuring took place, we went in to discuss our options. After waiting an hour and a half and three employees telling us that the people in flooring would be done soon we found out that the people in flooring didn't even work that day. So I went back and purchased the flooring a few days later. Turns out that they can't even install it for another month+ which is NOT what we were told in the initial consultation. I went to the Everett Home Depot to buy some paint supplies. The law in this state now requires masks due to the Covid description. Signs on the way into Home Depot say that masks are required while in Home Depot. I'm an older person and I've been wearing masks while out in public or shopping well before it became a law in this state as I do not want to give this virus to anyone just in case I have it and don't know I do. I wasn't in this home depot more than 30 seconds when I saw two young guys not wearing masks. I immediately put down the items I was intending to buy and left the store. Either provide masks to individuals who don't have them or do not let them shop in your store. I won't be back. To this Home Depot or probably to any home depot until this pandemic is over. JBC damaged my wall when removing my old fridge and they refuse to fix it. I really like The Home Depot. That being said I made the mistake of ordering an online item to be picked up in the store. A mistake I will not make again. The item is not only almost two weeks later than they said it would be initially, it also according to the tracking info passed right by my Home Depot twice to end up sitting for a week now in a warehouse an hour and a half north of me. When comparing the Home Depot vs Lowes, I have to say the HD have Lowes beat, hands down. I'm remodeling a house myself, and everytime I walk into the HD (which is practically every day) there is someone there to help me... in every department, even right before it closes. The Lowes in Lynnwood, in comparison always always have me waiting for an associate after I push the help button, and they seem annoyed when they show up. I'm sure the service varies significantly from store to store, but this one is great. I always get what I want, the staff always provide great help... this is definitely my default home improvement store. read more
