I also love the art pieces scattered throughout the shop, giving it a whimsical feel. I truly couldn't pick a favorite.. but gun to my head? I loved the hand knitted frogs. Needles and Hooks was just a nice as the last time I went. The yarn here is more expensive than a Michaels but most if not all yarn will have natural fibers. The person who helped me out is really nice and helped verify my yarn color choices. If you buy a hank of yarn, they'll offer to cake it. I've taken the offer before and it turns out nice. I didn't during this visit. There is a decent amount of people who come to knit on Thursdays but I was there to shop. Shopping during that hour is a bit less popular since people are crafting. Parking is great and I will still mourn the fact they had to move inside the mall from their spot outside with a nice window.

The co-owner Keri, helped me with a large blanket I was working on where a stitch had fallen off several rows behind where I was working on straight needles. She spent a good deal of time pulling out several rows to correct & then put me in circular needles-which she just gave me to finish my blanket. She went above & beyond to help me, was kind, generous with her time incredibly helpful and provided excellent instructions to help prevent my mishap from happening again! (I don't think I saw anything made of cotton, bamboo, or polyester fibers, but ask the shop! This isn't my craft.) There was a cute card catalog repurposed to hold variously sized US needles in the back of the store. There was a small column that held other needles and notions, like curved needles, row counters, row enders, etc. (Clearly this is not my craft, but I'm trying to articulate...) As you enter on the right, there's a large banquet table and a selection of pattern books. (On a table near check out there were a small handful of knitting and crochet magazines.) I presume that they either hold classes or invite people to actively knit and crochet over here. For those with accessibility challenges, this had one of the roomiest layouts of any store that I saw in Bainbridge. I believe the entrance had no stairs and there was a small parking lot in front of the store... perhaps at most 100 feet of walking. It was charming. I really wish this were my craft or that I had my sister's project needs so I could have shopped on her behalf.

All the staff I met were so friendly and knowledgeable, and offered a lot of helpful suggestions for me as a beginner. Many project examples are left on display for you to touch and interact with, and they were all labeled with exact details of what is needed -- all very inspiring and aspirational. The yarn and book selection all seemed very high quality and wonderfully curated, very modern and yet timeless and beautiful. I found that behavior very off putting and it happened twice during my discussion with her. Have some respect for your fellow employees as they aren't dogs you can snap your fingers at, they are human and should be treated as such. I ended up leaving and just ordering what I needed from another shop. If the owner or store manager sees this please encourage better behavior. I can't imagine how this employee treats other employees when customers aren't present. The employee who was rude was of Asian decent if this helps identify who was working today.
