I walked in for a wheelchair tires replacement ( 2 units) with my spare tires since they don't carry them and they told me they will call before the end of the day! However, they found out that my tires are not the accurate size so I have to find replacements and took more than two hours to find and return to them! Just picked up some pretty high end bike gloves from them which were a lot better than my last pair. The gloves had very nice breathable material with padded areas around the base of my hand and beneath my knuckles for great gripping or in case of a serious Wipeout. The first thing I noticed was their exceptional service even though it is Thanksgiving! I didn't expect much service during a holiday season but they were very kind and explaining the options I had and my hat's off to Gabriel who was working with them for a long time and did a fantastic job and helping me. I think any company with this level of service is an amazing model in amazing customer service and quality of products. I went to this local shop to get my kid's Miele bike a tune up and it needed a new cable. Quoted $225 to do the work! Took the bike instead to shop on Broadway--Ride On Again Bikes--and they did a great job for $75 and it was ready in a week. Maybe Jubilee doesn't like working on kids' bikes? We are a cycling family and just moved here; they lost the opportunity for ongoing business from four cyclists. I guess they have enough clientele. read more

Brought my bike to jubilee cycle for a tire repair it had been repaired twice elsewhere, but blew again on my first ride. Jubilee diagnosed it and fixed it quickly, actually same day service. I've bought two bikes from them, about 11 years apart and they remember me. Pretty awesome to shop at a store where the faces are familiar. They hooked me up with a brand new gorgeous Kona and even gave me a discount on top of it without me having to ask (I assume because they remembered me and friends that I had referred to them). They ordered in a specific helmet for me as well when they didn't have it in stock and managed to stay competitive on price. They generally can't be as cheap as MEC on parts, but getting personalized service is worth the difference. read more

Here's another bike shop located along the BC Parkway bike route, not too far east of Metrotown. I rolled in one day because my newly installed brakes were squeaking, and I thought they just needed a little adjustment. The bike mechanic took one look and informed me that they were actually the wrong brakes. It was a little abrupt, and he chastised me slightly for letting a friend install them for me, but I left the bike at the shop to get fixed. (Lucky that Royal Oak station is just down the way.) I was very pleased to get the bike back only a couple of days later with new, non-squeaky brakes. Although it cost me $40 and a couple of remarks about amateur bike mechanics, I was happy with the outcome. read more

Not recommended. AT ALL One of the older guys that work there has a major attitude problem. Maybe I shouldn't have pointed out that he was trying to charge me double for the parts I wanted, but even before that he had an issue with answering what is included in there tune up service. It's not like I'm going to throw money at you without knowing what you're going to do. Anyways I ended up just getting them to re-do all my cable's we agreed on a price and was told it will be ready tomorrow. Next day they forgot to call and I ended up having to calling in. Guys exact word "Which bike" "What do you want" wtf....... On top of this they charged me for other work that I did not ask for or agree to have done (they never called and confirmed with me), work that had nothing to do with the cables, derailleurs, or brakes. Then today I realize they only change the cable housing that is directly connected to the brake and shifters. The housing running on the frame and connected to the rear derailleur are the old ones from before. Serious avoid this place at all cost. I rather throw the bike on the bus and go to MEC then this place again. read more

Super fast service, had to bring a tire in today to get a flat fixed. Gave them the tire at the counter and went to look at accessories - had barely made it through looking at locks and the tire was fixed and ready to go! Picked up a lock as well as the fixed tire, and was very happy to be back on the road in minutes. Excellent service, would definitely go back again! read more

Purchased a bike from Jubilee over a year ago and since then have dropped in multiple times for minor repairs and adjustments. Each time, they have provided friendly, efficient and honest service. In the less busy periods they have even provided same day drop-off and bike pick-up service. Happy customer and would recommend them to friends and family. They carry a nice selection of road, gravel, cyclocross, touring, commuters and mtb so a very diverse selection which can be rare under one roof. read more

Neil and his team are great people, this shop is the only bike shop I would go if I were to get a new bike or get my bike service! And I live in downtown Vancouver, isn't that enough to convince you? They are racers themselves, so they know what they are talking about. It isn't hard to service a bicycle, but it's hard to find someone that take care of your bike like they do, with care. Brought my titanium frame mountain bike that had been in storage for 20 years to jubilee cycle. I was told the shifters, the cables, the brakes, the chain, needed replacing. I was quoted $500 for labour and parts. I then took my bike to sports junkies on West Broadway, they charged me $50 for a tuneup, $5 brake pad, and $5 for new grips. Thank God I got another estimate. Jubilee cycle tried to scam me, I will never go there again. Be warned! read more

I have been a regular for about 8 years now. I agree that they can be a bit abrubt - but once you get to know the team, you understand it is because of their passion for the sport and keeping people happy rather than just making a buck. The high end bike competitor on Broadway is even worse for attitude if you really want elitist :) If you are a regular, they bend over backwards to try and help you get in and out fast. They also prove out the selection that they carry. Yes they do not have the depth of say MEC, but their business model is to only offer good parts and mechandise at the right price. read more

Jubilee did a poor job at replacing my rear wheel and tire, with bad customer service when I raised the issue. Instead of a simple replacement, which I asked for, they installed a Presta valve tube with my new wheel, which is cumbersome and actually leaks more than a regular valve. Absolutely unnecessary for recreational riders. I've used them before and hate them. When I mentioned it, the staffer shrugged it off, basically letting me know it's my problem, not his. Now I'm on the hook for buying a new wheel as my current one won't accommodate a regular valve. Lesson learned - I'm not going back to Jubilee and will take this and my other bikes elsewhere. read more

I just took my bike in to get some new pedals, shoes and a trip computer. These guys were great, and sponsor the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer. The prices weren't as high as I was expecting for a small LBS and the staff are very knowledgeable. I tend to buy a lot from MEC, but this store is close to home and I like to try and support local stores if I can. I was glad I went here for my parts instead. I researched some prices on-line before going and it ended up being about what I had expected to pay, and even less on the shoes since I got last year's models. The service was personable and I felt they really wanted to find what was best for me and and my bike. I only wish they had a bigger store with more selection and more brands. read more

Do NOT bring your bike here for tune-up or repairs. We brought our bike in here for a simple tune-up but got it back with a broken and missing part. Store never apologized and blamed it on us for not picking up the bike earlier. Worst of all was the customer service and the horrible and rude attitude of the guy who worked there. Very disappointed in my recent visit to Jubilee Cycle. my boyfriend who is blind and I were excited when I saw a tandem bike over the door of Jubillee Cycle as we have been in the market for one for some time. However when we entered the store and asked, the staff person if they sold tandem bikes, he said they didn't. I was going to ask more questions when another staff member came up from behind my boyfriend and tried to shove a bike past him with out saying anything, causing him to stumble. Still apology or reply. We won't be shopping at nor recommending this store. read more

Disappointed. My buddy and I brought our mountain bikes in for tune-ups. We were told that they didn't look like they needed much work, just a basic tune up. Quoted $50 each. Upon pick-up, bill was $225 for both. No phone call, no "hey, there's more work here than we thought, can we go ahead?". Nothing. I had no issue with them doing needed work. However, every mechanic I've ever been to for my bike or car will call you if they find an issue that is going to DOUBLE the quoted price. Their response when I asked them about this? "No one else complains". AND my rear disc brake still squeals. Won't be going back. read more

I took my bike to them just for a tune up, and they refused to work on it because it was too old. They would not even put a tube on and air. This is a response geared to force people to buy new bikes. I would suggest that no one takes their bike there because all they will do is try and sell you more junk than you need or tell you to buy a new bike. After purchasing a bike there I showed up looking to have a noise fixed, I was told it would be a week. I could not wait a week so I had a friend do the repairs. Today I went by needing a minor adjustment that would take minutes and the answer received was that I would have to leave it. I did find the prices high and "improvised" Lack of Professional attitude Although knowledgeable and competent, I did find the attitudes a bit adolescent -some bike guys are defensive. To certain degree I understand retail is a b**ch.Some customers don't know or appreciate and lack respect and at the same time shop guys are presumptuous and condescending. They perfer if it you're unknowledgable, gives their ego a boost. EDIT- I see someone else called them "abrupt" but then goes on to say "well if your a regular they will kiss your butt" If you are a D-bag to me why would I ever become a regular? I myself worked as a bike mechanic in the 80's and continue to do my own work.I use to frequent Jubilee Cycles when i was a kid ( I guess the father still in charge at the time) Theres never a good reason for a bad attitude and reading other reviews that rationalize it is BS. I brought the bike to the bike shop for repairing. The guy told me the part has worn out and irreplaceable(I just bought the bike recently). He told me that I had to replace the part and there was no spare part in the shop. I later found out I could just repair the part by myself within a minute and nothing is wrong with the part. Although I didn't buy the bike in shop, it's just sick to find out the people are so dishonest and unprofessional in the Jubilee Cycle bike shop. read more

The worst customer service ever.....moved out here from Ontario and brought my Kona Unit with me....was put in touch with the Kona Rep who told me Jubilee was a long time Kona dealer that would be able to help me with anything....went there and was told by Neil that they wont deal with single speed bikes and any Kona rep would know that and they probably just told me to go there to get me off their back ASAP.......wow spent $1200 on a Kona go to a recommended Kona dealer by a Kona Rep trying to upgrade my single speed to a geared bike an spend money and give them business an basically told can't, won't and don't wanna help you and don't have a clue as to which direction to point you in to get what you want.......and admit Kona customer service is terrible too by saying they just wanted me off their backs.........How arrogant and rude...... read more
